Chapter 194: Relay
In the stands, Yang Ch and the instructors observed the games, speculating on the pottial winners.
Ch Miya wasn't the only studt who exceeded their expectations.
There were other studts who performed well but they were largely overshadowed by her impressive performance.
"Isn't it obvious? Anyone can see that the red team will win," remarked the internal arts teacher after hearing Ju Yin's words.
"Do you really think so?" Ju Yin replied with a look of disappointmt.
To be honest, she initially shared the same stimt as everyone else.
However, her thoughts changed quickly after hearing Yang Ch's words during his speech and witnessing the first race where Ch Miya almost won against Zhang Yufei.
Ch Miya's special ability gave her an overwhelming and unfair advantage over the others.
It was more than just surpassing traditional limits like strgth or speed.
It was something else tirely.
"We might witness a surprise during this game," Yang Ch finally spoke up, amusemt flickering across his face.
"Principal, you mean... the blue team will win?" Ju Yin asked with a stunned face, finding his words hard to believe.
The internal arts teacher's face was filled with surprise, and Ju Yin looked at him, waiting for him to speak.
Somehow, she had a feeling that Yang Ch's prediction might actually come true.
"Who knows?" Yang Ch replied, simply smiling as he glanced toward the gathering of the blue team.
His smile wided upon spotting the redhead standing beside Ch Miya—Jin Ruolan.
---
A few minutes later, the contestants participating in the relay gathered in the designated area. The running order was decided after discussions among the team members.
Both teams predicted the running order of the oppont and wrote down their own.
[Red Team]
[st Runner: Zhu Jia]
[nd Runner: Zhang Yufei]
[3rd Runner: Su Qin, a third-year studt]
[4th Runner: Fu Ting]
[Blue Team]
[st Runner: Xie Qingyi]
[nd Runner: Cao Ding, a second-year studt]
[3rd Runner: Ch Miya]
[4th Runner: Jin Ruolan]
Gu Mama smiled as she read the order chos by both teams.
Each team seems to have tried to guess the running order of their opponts
"It will be interesting to see who wins this game," Gu Mama thought as she set aside the sheet and looked at the participants.
"Are you all ready?" she asked.
Both teams nodded in response, getting into their optimal stances.
"On your mark…" Gu Mama raised one hand while holding the whistle in the other. "Get set…" After confirming that everyone was prepared, she announced the start of the game.
"GO!" Just a momt before Gu Mama signaled the start, the twins exchanged glances and used spiritual manifestations.
'This time, we won't lose!' Xie Qingyi thought, her eyes burning with competitive spirit.
'A loser will always be a loser' Zhu Jia said in her mind after seeing the expression on her sister's face, shaking her head at the thought.
Despite her advantages, she didn't let her guard down.
At prest, Zhu Jia was running at an incredible speed, leaving behind a series of after-images. Turning her head to glance at Xie Qingyi, her eyes wided in shock.
"Where did she go?" Panic surged through her. "No way… There's no way she's ahead of me!" She quickly turned her head forward and she was relieved to find no trace of Xie Qingyi.
However, Doubts still clouded her mind.
'Just where did she go all of a sudd?'
Zhu Jia turned a, searching for Xie Qingyi but found no trace of her again.
"Did she quit the race?"
'No, her pride wouldn't allow that,' she shook her head. Suddly, She recalled a technique from the memories she got from Xie Qingyi.
"You… You… This is cheating!"
Zhu Jia shouted with a look of anger as she looked at the unnaturally dark shadow lurking behind her.
"It took you long ough to find me," Xie Qingyi's voice emerged from the shadow.
"And this is not cheating," she continued with a smirk.
"Didn't you read the rules? Only fighting is forbidd."
Zhu Jia's body trembled with rage, leaving her momtarily speechless.
In the distance, she spotted Zhang Yufei, and she realized she lacked a technique to counter Xie Qingyi's concealmt ability.
'Damn it, ev though I was on high alert, I never saw this coming!'
With no means to counter her sister's ability, Zhu Jia gritted her teeth and pushed herself to run faster.
As they approached the second runners, Zhu Jia was on the verge of passing the baton.
"Thanks for the free ride," Xie Qingyi taunted, a mocking smile on her face, as a dark hand emerged from the shadows, clutching the baton.
The dark hand extded, effortlessly passing the baton to Cao Ding.
"Damn you!" A few seconds later, Zhu Jia found herself stomping on the shadow like a clown, with a look of frustration on her face.
Right at this momt, the blue team got the lead because of Xie Qingyi's clever tricks.
"Hey, why are you just standing there?" Zhu Jia yelled at Zhang Yufei, who was standing there like a statue.
"She is doing it for real, huh," Xie Qingyi said as she ssed spectral ergy gathered a Zhang Yufei.
"What do you mean—" Just as Zhu Jia was about to ask, Zhang Yufei spoke in a cold voice, a sharp glint in her eyes.
"Cresct Moon Technique, st Style…" As she spoke, she gripped the baton as if it were a sword.
"Moonlight Severance!" The surings darked as the words escaped her lips, radiant moonlight cascading across the area.
Meanwhile, Cao Ding prepared to pass the baton to Ch Miya.
"Pass it quickly!" Ch Miya urged, extding her hand backward.
"Huh, what's happing?"
She saw that the moonlight was veloping the tire race course.
"Why is the moon already out?"
The answer to her words came almost instantly as a figure approached her at an astonishing speed.
Before she could see clearly, the figure was already at her side.
"Here, take it," Zhang Yufei said, handing the baton to Su Qin, who stood there with a dazed expression, gazing behind her.
She saw that the moonlight formed by her technique was perfectly sliced in half.
"Sior Qin, now is not the time to admire my sword skills!" Zhang Yufei's words pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Ah, leave it to me." Su Qin grabbed the baton and began to run.
Just th, the roar of an gine echoed from her side.
Vroom! Vroom!
There was no need to look back.
The next second, She saw a motorcycle speeding away, leaving a trail of smoke.
"That's allowed!?" Su Qin had never felt so unfair in her tire life.
Watching Ch Miya leave her behind, she had a dumbfounded expression, wondering why she was chos for this game.
Just to suffer?
Shaking her head, she sprinted forward, burning massive amounts of spectral ergy to chase after Ch Miya.
'So what if I lose to that -haired witch?'
'We still have a trump card left.'
"I just need to pass the baton to Fu Ting; she will handle the rest."
The final runners were Fu Ting and Jin Ruolan.
Previously, Fu Ting was a minor realm ahead of Jin Ruolan. This morning, Fu Ting had told her that she achieved a breakthrough last night.
With two minor realms advantage over Jin Ruolan, Fu Ting could win effortlessly, ev if her oppont had a head start.
After all, Fu Ting possessed the strongest physique among the studts.
As Su Qin thought of this, she breathed a sigh of relief.
---
A few seconds later, Su Qin passed the baton to Fu Ting, collapsing to the g after exhausting all her spectral ergy.
"Fu Ting… please win…" With that, she passed out.
Fu Ting looked at her frid's actions with distress, puzzled as to why Su Qin had to exert herself so intsely over a mere game.
"Sior Fu, come on!"
"You can do it!"
"We believe in you!"
Hearing the cheers, Fu Ting felt a sse of excitemt emerging within her, for the first time in a while.
"Sorry, Roulan," she thought, glancing at Jin Ruolan's back.
"But I am going to win this no matter what."
In the next second, Fu Ting disappeared from her position, the g crumbled and her footprints were printed on the g.
Meanwhile, Jin Ruolan who was running at the front, had her own thoughts.
'He's watching!'
She thought with exhilaration, catching sight of Yang Ch observing the game from the stands.
'Ah, he noticed me!' Suddly, Jin Ruolan spotted Yang Ch smiling at her.
Recalling the last time she had sucked on his finger, her gaze instinctively followed his hand gestures, which pointed behind her.
"Huh, what's behind me?"
