Marvel: Killing Makes You Stronger

Chapter 48: When Gods Clash, Mortals Suffer

Chapter 48: When Gods Clash, Mortals Suffer

The ancestral Blood God, strong in mind and will, or not?

Certainly strong, as he is a being capable of traversing dimensions. He is one of the primordial vampires, embodying the very concept of vampirism, manifesting merely as a strand of consciousness.

Yet, it is just a mere strand of consciousness.

This strand of consciousness does not bring a strong defense of mind and will, especially under the overwhelming assault of Bi Xiao's tumultuous psychic storm, where the complete mental barriers built by the blood god himself are breached.

Bi Xiao cannot control or access the memories of the other.

Nor does he dare to take risks, for at this level of existence, who knows how much complexity one might add to his own mental world?

What Bi Xiao seeks is to control the situation.

A terrifying psychic storm, mental bombs mercilessly bombard the blood god's mental realm, rendering him unable to escape using his blood magic abilities.

Taking this opportunity, Bi Xiao suddenly charges towards the blood god.

The surging magic infuses a cruciform sword, its blade coated with golden magic. Beneath the brilliant gold lies the energy potent enough to grievously injure or even kill the blood god.

Sensing danger, the blood god simultaneously calms the raging storm in his mental realm with his consciousness and power while controlling Deacon's body to fight Bi Xiao.

Before Bi Xiao arrives, the blood god extends his right hand, blood spreading from his skin to form a long sword, which he thrusts forward just in time to protect himself.

Boom!!

A sound like metal striking explodes, golden and blood-red clashing to produce spectacular sparks. A thunderous noise reverberates throughout the Temple of Eternal Night as terrifying power bursts from the golden crucifix sword, assaulting the blood god's body, causing it to tremble violently as the force spreads outward.

A domineering power impacts the ground, shaking the entire altar and the Temple of Eternal Night, and even the ground beneath.

Walls crack and collapse, terrifying cracks appear on the ground, large chunks of stone fall from the ceiling, and the ground finally gives way. Through the collapsed surface, the churning dark clouds above unleash continuous thunderbolts, bombarding the Temple of Eternal Night.

As if intending to destroy everything within the temple.

Except for Bi Xiao on the altar, the blood god disregards the thunderbolts striking around him and the falling boulders, as the two grapple with each other.

But when gods clash, mortals suffer.

Blade, sensing the vibrations in the walls and the Temple of Eternal Night, feels a terrifying danger and knows he cannot stay any longer, or he might die from the repercussions.

He then remembers Whistler in the stone chamber, his will as strong as steel, ignoring the pain his body endures. Thankfully, his physique far surpasses that of ordinary humans, and his strong regenerative abilities allow him to recover considerably.

At least his previously grotesque face is mostly healed. He forcefully extricates himself from the wall, stumbles, and nearly kneels on the ground.

Stabilizing himself, he slowly makes his way along the corridor towards the stone chamber.

Just as he exits the corridor, another terrifying explosion resounds within the Temple of Eternal Night, signaling the intense battle between the human boy and the blood god has begun. Blade, anxious, feels the massive waves of impact and pressure urging him to hurry, quickening his pace towards the stone chamber.

As expected, Whistler has fainted in front of the chamber, his forehead stained with blood, a stone pressing down on him.

Clearly sensing the danger, Whistler had tried to leave the stone chamber with his aged body, yet he was still affected.

Blade strains to move the stone, hearing Whistler's heartbeat and breathing sounds, not as vigorous as a healthy person, but at least not close to death.

Expressionless, Blade lifts Whistler onto his back, enduring the burning pain on his back skin, and hastens along the corridor towards the surface.

They must leave quickly.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The explosions grow louder and the vibrations stronger, as the vampire-built underworld gradually begins to collapse, stone pillars, walls, and corridors densely cracking, with large stones occasionally falling from above.

Blade, relying on his superior physical condition and danger perception, dodges the falling stones.

After passing through several corridors, Blade finally sees the only exit, stepping onto the teetering steps, carrying Whistler, the thunder growing louder around them just as the surface world's vibrations reach a peak.

Blade escapes to the surface with Whistler.

He turns back to see a large depression formed in the surface, especially at the center where a thousand-meter-deep hole is visible, with thunderbolts falling like heavy rain, a sight terrifying to behold.

Blade takes a deep breath, his strength nearly depleted due to significant blood loss, yet he clenches his teeth, carrying Whistler and trying to run further away.

Before running a thousand meters, a earth-shaking roar and the sound of metal clashing follow, accompanied by a surge of overwhelming air waves that lift Blade and the carried Whistler into the air.
