Chapter 37 Skill Shop
"Skill shop," Harry muttered.
——
[Skill Shop]
[Skill points: 50]
[Lightning Skills And Abilities]
[Earth Skills And Abilities]
[Wind Skill And Abilities]
——
'Lightning skills.' Harry mumbled inwardly.
——
[Lightning Skills and Abilities]
>>Lightning Stun
>>Lightning Coat
>>Lightning Boots
>>Thunder Clap
>>Lightning spear
>>Shattering bolt
>>Lightning Arrow
[The number of skill and abilities in the shop depends on the Host's level. Host should level up to gain access to powerful skills and abilities]
——
Harry ignored most of the skills, not only were they self-explanatory but were also common among Lightning elementalists.
Lightning stun for example, was a tier one spell. Just like the name implied, it was a spell that stuns the opponent for a few seconds.
It was the same with most of the skills on the list, they were either tier two or tier three spells that were focused on boosting his speed or simple attack type spells.
The skills that caught his attention was thunder clap and shattering bolt. The names alone sounded powerful and Harry couldn't help but wonder how powerful the skills would be in reality.
'Thunder clap.' Harry said inwardly.
——
[Thunder Clap]
—Coat your fists with a layer of Lightning. When used as an attack, it produces a thunderous clap that obliterates everything in its path.
[Cost: 150 Skill points]
——
Harry's eyes shone with delight as he read the description of the skill, it was just as he guessed; the skill was extremely powerful!
Just as his gaze went down to the skill cost, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets. Its cost was a whopping one hundred and fifty skill points! That was thrice the amount of skill points he had currently!
Harry's face squeezed into a grimace. He thought his current skill points would be enough to get at least one good skill from the skill shop, however, it didn't seem to be the case.
From how powerful the skill description was, Harry could guess that it was at least a tier four skill… or even a tier five skill, he really wanted to get the skill.
'I would need to get more skill points.' Harry mumbled inwardly. He then moved to the next 'good skill' on the list. 'Shattering bolt.' Harry thought.
——
[Shattering Bolt]
—Continuous Blasting Of Lightning at any desired target
[The period depends on the Host's energy]
[Cost: 250 Skill points]
——
Harry's eyes glistened with joy as he read the skill's description, just as he expected, the skill was also very powerful.
Although the system's description of the skill was quite vague, Harry was still able to understand the skill.
However, the moment he set his eyes on the skill cost, he almost puked out blood.
He needed two hundred and fifty skill points to get the skill from the skill shop, that meant he needed to get two hundred skill points before he would finally be able to unlock the skill.
'Haa… and here I was… thinking I had enough skill points to get at least three skills.' Harry mumbled inwardly. He hissed in a low voice that only he could hear as he closed the skill description.
'Lightning stun.' Harry thought. Out of all the Lightning skills in the shop, Lightning stun was the weakest, Harry wanted to at least see the cost of the weakest Lightning skill so he would know the type of skills he could get with just fifty skill points.
——
[Lightning Stun]
—Coat your fingers with Lightning, has a stunning effect.
[Cost: 20 Skill points]
——
A low sigh left Harry's lips as he saw the number of skill points required to get a skill on the level of a tier one spell. 'I could only get two tier one spells from the shop with fifty skill points.' Harry thought as a tsk left his lips.
Lightning stun and Lightning arrow were the only tier one spells on the list. The tier of a spell, or in Harry's case, a skill was determined by its power and output, spells that only gave slight body enhancement or had short attack range and damage were in the first tier.
'It's not like I plan on buying some of the skills from the shop today.' Harry thought. Although he would love to get new skills from the shop, he knew that wouldn't be the right decision.
All his affinity skills and abilities were low-leveled, he only had two skills that had reached the second level; accelerate and mana conceal.
His Lightning skills and recently gained earth and wind skills were only level one. His plan was to practice with them regularly before leveling them up using skill points.
He closed the Lightning skill tab and opened the wind skill tab.
——
[Wind Skills And Abilities]
>>Wind blast
>>Sway
>>Wind blades
>>Tornado
——
For some reason, the wind skills on the skill shop was a lot more fewer than the Lightning skills. However, there were some powerful skills on the list too, most of the skills on the tab were at least tier three three spells.
'Wind blast.' Harry thought. He called this skill not just because of the description but because he wanted to see the skill's cost, from the name alone, he knew the skill would be quite powerful.
——
[Wind Blast]
—Generate a huge blast of wind.
[Cost: 140 skill points]
——
Harry nodded his head slightly as he read the skill description.
Although the system gave a vague description, he still understood the use of the skill and it was truly powerful.
Harry wasn't even surprised by the skill cost, he had expected it cost at least a hundred skill point. The skill cost was slightly cheaper than that of thunder clap.
Harry then closed the skill shop, the more he looked at the skills on the skill shop, the more he realized how pitifully low his skill points were, he didn't know why but that annoyed him for some reason.
He opened his skills and abilities and kept staring at his current skills.
A slight grimace appeared on Harry's face as he stared at the tab in front of him. Although he would love to test them out—most especially his recently gained earth and wind skills, he couldn't.
His house wasn't reinforced with artifacts or mana, and using an attack skill like wind slash would only cause massive destruction to the house.
He could even get charged for damages since the house wasn't his to begin with. It was the same with his attack-type lightning skills.
He could only use activate skills like Lightning ball and Lightning dash, since the former was a skill that couldn't cause any damage as long as he didn't launch it and the latter was simply a speed boost ability.
He couldn't test them out in public too, it would be disastrous if the academy got wind of it.
Since he was known to be without a mana core foundation talk-less of an affinity, it would definitely cause an uproar if he was suddenly seen using tier two and tier three spells. In fact, he could even be arrested and experimented on by the AMO.
Due to the fact that he couldn't actively use his lightning skills, they had remained stagnated and that wasn't good for his progress.
He already knew how to solve this problem, and to do that, he needed to register at the academy as an Elementalist.
