Chapter 59: Angry Birds
59 59 - Angry Birds
At the moment, Noah didn't care so much about his personal ranking in terms of personal satisfaction; what he wanted in becoming a Blessed Rank E would be the possibility of invading Rank D Fortresses in the future. He had no intention of going to a Rank D Fortress as soon as he reached Rank E, but he still wanted the freedom to be able to go to a Rank D Fortress, especially since he saw that the members of Jasper's group were all elites at the top of Rank E, which would probably rise to Rank D in a short time, meaning they would soon stop invading Rank E Fortresses altogether.
Noah joined the group because it was safer to invade Fortresses. He would not let the opportunity to have a free invasion group like he had now go just because he did not have enough ranking to be able to go in the Fortresses with the group.
Not to mention that Rank D Fortresses would give him a lot more EXP than a Rank E Fortress, which would make his level go up even faster.
It had only been 4 days since his system woke up, but that didn't stop Noah from wanting to become stronger faster. He was still just a Blessed Rank E, the base of the strength table. His goal was to reach the top in the high rankings.

Upon arriving at GBC headquarters, Noah saw Jasper from a distance because of the orange hair he had that drew attention from afar. Next to him were a dozen more people, all with different characteristics. Some wore heavy monster leather armor, others wore lighter monster leather armor, others just chose to use fabric, but what Noah noticed was that everyone had something from a Fortress, that is, it was very expensive.
Noah was no different, having brought the dagger he got from the goblin camp Fortress. This dagger may not have been as expensive as most of these people's weapons and armor, since their things probably came from higher-ranking Fortresses just like Jasper's dagger, but inside a Rank E Fortress, this dagger was already more than enough.
When Noah approached the group, Jasper noticed him and motioned for him to join the circle while introducing Noah to the rest.
The other people were surprised by Noah's appearance, as in the GBC app they were just shown a username, a photo that the person wanted to use (which Noah left blank), and the person's Blessing rank. When they saw how young he was, they couldn't hide their shock.
There were Blessed Rank E more powerful than Noah almost anywhere, but this group consisted of elite Blessed Ones. They were the top of Rank E, almost reaching Rank D. The youngest in the group right now was Jasper, who appeared to be 23 or 24 years. The other people ranged from 27 to 32 years old. Age did not mean much, but it was also not something to be disregarded, since with age comes experience.
But even though everyone had some doubts in mind, no one expressed their disgust and disbelief for Noah openly. They all acted in a polite manner when they saw that Noah was being polite to them, which at least was a good sign that he was not as arrogant as the last man who auditioned to join the group.
Now, with Noah in the group, there were 14 people, which left just one more to show up and they could board the bus that would take them to the Fortress. They didn't have to wait long, as the missing person arrived in a few minutes talking to a government official.
Seeing that the person arrived, everyone took their own backpacks and went to walk beside them towards the bus. The person was a young man apparently of Jasper's age. From what Jasper told Noah, this 25 year old man was the leader of the group. With a Rank B Blessing, he was practically destined for greatness, but as he wanted to build a resilient base for the future strength he would have, he decided to bide his time as a Rank E before going to Rank D. However, if he wanted, he could advance to Rank D at any time since his strength was almost equal to a normal Rank D.
That was the difference between the quality of his Blessing. Because he had a Rank B Blessing, even though he was apparently the same age as Jasper, his strength was definitely higher.
The new person, whom Jasper said was called Marcel, continued talking to the government official about something Noah lost interest in after paying attention for a few seconds in the conversation.
On Noah's wrist, Lilith had still been sleeping until now. Apparently she had worn herself out a lot more than he imagined when trying to remember her name. It had been more than 24 hours since she started sleeping around Noah's wrist.
As snakes are cold-blooded animals, when Noah went to take a bath, he had to stretch his arm on which she was curled out of the water so that she would not get wet and have some kind of bad reaction.
From the moment Noah touched her head the first time, the contract window had remained in the corner of his vision. As he had already made a contract for Wendy, he knew exactly what he would have to do after agreeing to make a contract with Lilith, and he knew very well that the snake would have to accept the contract willingly, that is, Noah would have to wait for her to wake up eventually.
Fortunately, wrapping herself around his wrist did not disturb him in any way, as she was very thin and did not weigh enough to disturb his balance, so it was not a real problem for him in the Fortress. The only thing was that he would have to be even more careful with his movements, lest she be injured during the invasion.
During the bus ride, Noah talked to the people in the group only as much as necessary, and mentally focused on the upcoming Fortress. Even among Fortresses of the same rank, there were obviously differences in difficulty between them. The reward would be proportional to the strength of the Fortress, so Noah knew that he would probably receive more in this Fortress than he received in the previous one, which was just an ordinary Fortress.
When the bus stopped, Noah followed the group to store his own things while noting how much more practical and objective an invasion group was made by professionals and people who were already used to working with each other.
During the trip on the bus, the group had already decided each one's task, or rather, confirmed each one's task and decided on Noah's. Since they always worked together, each one already had their work defined in the group, so they probably just went over everything so he wouldn't be lost inside the Fortress.
"Very well guys, as everyone already knows their own task, we are now going to invade the Fortress together. This is the Angry Birds Fortress, as you saw in your GBC app, but just to go over our strategy one last time, the monsters in this Fortress are flying ones, so we are the prey and they are the hunters, but it will be up to people with mobility and long-range attack benefits to reverse that role. So Jasper and the new guy, Noah, will bear that responsibility for not letting us be the prey that is going to die. I hope you are at least half of what Jasper said, Noah, because if you are not, the Fortress will speak for itself in this regard," Marcel said in a heavy tone as everyone turned to face Noah.
