Loser System and Berserker Me

Chapter 123: Shu Clan’s Lad

“Lord Bikna, we won’t last at this rate!” the mage said with a sigh.

All of them were injured, and they were on the verge of depleting the potions they had too. Furthermore, they were also running out of stamina and mana.

How many skeletons had they killed thus far?

1000? 2000? Or 3000?

But there was still no end to the skeletons.

From time to time, an unlucky person would be dragged to the bottom of the bone mountain, and they would fall silent after a few miserable screams.

All of them knew that they couldn’t continue on like that, or else the skeletons would win in this battle of attrition.

“Windwhisperer!” Bikna clenched her jaws. “What else do you hear? Are you able to find an area with fewer skeletons? We need to find a way to slaughter our way out!”

She would have never imagined that such a terrifying threat would be hidden beneath a seemingly innocuous expedition. They would be wiped out if they couldn’t find a way out soon.

“I can’t hear anything!” the windwhisperer replied tearfully. “They are everywhere, everywhere!”

The mage took out a scroll and tossed it upward.

The scroll flew across the air and emanated a brilliant light. Through this light source, Bikna and the others could clearly see the situation they were in.

Skeletons here.

Skeletons there.

Skeleton everywhere.

The skeletons weren’t just confined to this town; even the outer perimeter of the town was packed to the brim. They were a lone boat amidst an ocean of skeleton, fending against the terrible waves of white bones.

“My gosh!”

“We’re doomed!”

The revelation caused the expedition team’s morale to crumble. They screamed out of sheer despair. How were they supposed to break out of something like that?!

They stood no chance at all, unless they could fly!

“…” Even Bikna, who had survived many adversities, struggled to hold onto her enchanted sword.

This is ridiculous! I have never faced anything as insane as this! Am I really going to die here?

Just then, she spotted a warm light in the distance… and it looked like there were several flags next to it?

Bikna was first stunned before she roared in anger, “I knew it! I knew something was off!”

“Lord Bikna?” the bloodied mage asked.

Bikna hacked down yet another skeleton climbing up the bone mountain. She pointed at the direction of the flag and roared savagely at the mage, “Over there! These monsters are under someone’s control! An evil mage is controlling them! And the magic circle is at that cliff!”

“Ah?”

The mage and the surviving soldiers were too exhausted to take in what Bikna was saying.

“Hold on a little longer!” Bikna gulped down her remaining potions and smacked the remaining scrolls on her body as she shouted, “I’ll deal with that mage!”

Things were finally starting to look familiar to Bikna.

A mage who had learned an evil spell or obtained a powerful artifact was wreaking havoc on the world. What she had to do was to don her armor, wield her sword, and, with her unbreakable will and unwavering courage, foil his plan!

She felt much more relaxed now that she didn’t have to care too much about her teammates.

By running on walls and flitting from roof to roof, she was able to avoid the bulk of the zombies and make a beeline toward the ‘evil mage’. She was like an unstoppable tiger.

As she charged out of the town, she glanced at where they had parked their carriage—there was nothing there anymore. Those guarding the carriage must have been killed.

“Damn that mage!” Bikna gritted her teeth. “I’ll rip you into shreds!”

Close, I’m getting close!

After traveling a distance away from the town, the density of the skeletons rapidly decreased. She figured that the mage must have focused the troops around the town. This motivated her, and she charged forth with greater tenacity than before.

“How foolish. You think that you have us in the bag?” Bikna sneered.

That evil mage clearly didn’t think that there would be a warrior who could break out of his skeleton encirclement. All I have to do now is to behead that mage’s head!

Mages might have all kinds of unfathomable spells, but they tended to be weak at melee combat. As long as I…

“Hm?!” Bikna widened her eyes in shock.

She was finally able to get a good look at the flag.

Contrary to what she had thought, it was not a magic flag inscribed with weird runes that mages sometimes used to channel their spells. Instead, it was a tattered but majestic war flag!

“Tang? Shu?” Bikna was stunned.

This spelled one possibility.

“It’s the Shu army?” Bikna could hardly believe her eyes. “It’s them again? Haven’t we already killed all of them?”

She knew about the Shu army—they were a regular shitstirrer, inciting a rebellion whenever they had a chance. Naturally, the Tibetans wouldn’t hold back against someone like that.

Shu Wenchang was suppressed, and all the men in the Shu clan were killed. With their bloodied blades, the Tibetans told the survivors to lie low if they wanted to live.

Yet, despite killing off all the sons, Shu Wenchang’s daughter, Shu Chuanfeng, inherited her father’s will and continued causing trouble.

So, after they suppressed Shu Chuanfeng too, the Tibetans showed no mercy and slaughtered everyone from the Shu clan, be it man or woman, young or old. It was a true massacre.

Let’s see who else dares to kick a fuss!

But years after things finally settled down, another Shu clansman popped out again!

Kak kak!

Beneath the flag, under a dim light, a young man with an unbelievably suave face appeared before Bikna’s eyes. For a moment, she wondered if it was about time for her to get married.

He might be a Tang slave, but it should be fine if I quietly rear him at home.

She quickly snapped out of her daze, especially when she spotted some common traits between the young man and Shu Chuanfeng.

“Another wretched offspring of the Shu clan.” Bikna flicked her enchanted sword, producing a metallic reverberation. She looked at the young man and coldly sneered, “Son of the Shu clan, choose your fate. Surrender or die!”
