Level Up: Voidwalker

Atlas continued trekking through the mountains while killing any Kenku that got in his way, thanks to his eye he could see any monsters that tried to sneak up on him. Following that, he took a break in a nook he found, the weather was getting worse.

Rain lashed down on the pathway he was just on, Atlas was baffled as it hadn't done this before but waited it out. While doing that he checked on the monster total and was shocked at the results.

''Nearly done now,'' Atlas muttered to himself while pulling out some meat buns and started eating while watching the strange landscape.

He noticed the water cascading down the mountain opposite, it reminded him of a waterfall but sudden screeches echoed across the peaks as the Kenku's headed in his direction, ''Oh for fucks sake, here they come.''

Atlas raised his hand and started casting Void Bullets into the creatures that appeared from around the corner. Explosions sent them flying off the path as some dodged it. They wildly charged at him, but Leo was faster.

'Here we go, time to fight!'

He cast several Void Barrages, each projectile piercing through the Kenku's bodies. It sent the monster crashing into the creatures behind. The barrage forced them to halt in their tracks, giving him enough time to unleash a powerful Void Wave.

His mana surged forward like a tidal wave, washing over the remaining creatures and sending them tumbling into the darkness below. Following that, he burst out of his hiding place and started slicing through the bird people.

Atlas continued rushing up the pathway while more Kenkus jumped down and tried attacking, but thanks to Void Guard which blocked their strikes. This allowed him to hit them with his magic, which brought their numbers down.

'This is going quicker than I expected,'

he thought while blasting a creature in the face with Void Blast.

Following that, he made it to a mountain ledge where no more monsters appeared which made him sigh in relief. While resting he quickly checked the total to see how many he had taken out.

'Not long now, a few more hours until I reach the boss,'n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Atlas grinned before casting Void Infusion on his blades.

The azure glow lit up the area around him just as more Kenku's suddenly attacked, this made him yelp but he still reacted. Atlas quickly cut down the five creatures but was quickly swamped as one caught him off guard.

He was sent back to the real world and woke up on the blankets while the women were gossiping. Estelle was talking to the others about the rare monsters roaming the Argonia Kingdom.

''You see there is a monster that roams the night and attacks groups of travelers,'' she said in an eerie manner. ''Some say there are Werewolves, others think they are evil spirits but my older brother witnessed it.''

Amythest's purple eyes glowed with interest as she questioned, ''What did he see?''

''August said it was a humanoid creature much like the Dark Ones but much stronger,'' the blonde started drawing a figure in the dirt using a knife. ''Rumors say that they drink the blood of the captured people but when the bodies are found, missing parts are always a thing.''

'Sounds sort of like a vampire? But the missing body parts are strange,'

he thought while pulling out some meat buns.

Shortly after that, the women noticed he was awake, they beamed before Artemis greeted him, ''Morning sleepyhead, when do we attack the fortress?''

Atlas smiled at the brunette, ''I'm close to unlocking the Kenku's, maybe another twelve hours? Maybe less,'' he revealed before eating.''

They nodded but Grishna commented in an excited voice, ''I can't wait to fight these empire dogs, the emperor has conquered all of Astoria which will make things hard for us to travel, but that doesn't matter.''

''We will cause them so much trouble that it messes with their solidating the new land,'' Atlas revealed, ''I need to hit more dungeons to get more monsters for the army.''

The five women agreed with a nod as Nulia suggested, ''If it gets too much for us we can always retreat to the Northern Wastes, the Achaemendians hate the cold.''

Everyone laughed when hearing the Frostbear woman's words, Atlas quickly replied, ''We can use Raymond to escape, he's fast, strong, and will be able to fly faster than anything they can do.''

Everyone looked relieved but soon the weather started getting worse causing Estelle to cast a shield around them. Amethyst and Artemis started shivering but Atlas quickly took out a blanket before wrapping it around the two women.

The brunette smiled as he thanked him, ''Thank you Atlas, I hate Frostwinter, it's always so cold.''

Atlas waved her away, ''You two need to stay warm in this horrible weather, for some reason, it doesn't affect me as much as it used to,'' he said in a warm voice.

Following that, he went around and gave Grishna, Estelle, and Nulia more blankets which the women accepted. While the group sat on the ledge a winter storm descended upon the fortress which caused the soldiers to lock it down.

'This will be fun, the Kenku's will cause chaos,'

Atlas mused while watching the Achaemendians as the sun started to set.

Estelle suddenly stood up and spoke with a concerned expression, ''Let's set up the tent, I think the storm will get worse. The fortress will be on lockdown, no one will come as it's too risky to travel.''

Atlas nodded before helping them set up the tent, which would shelter them from the worsening storm as the blonde's shield started to falter. He quickly noticed this and sent his mana into the barrier.

He could feel it being drained from his body, but Atlas managed to hold on. Ten minutes later, the others finished with the tent and hurried inside. Not long after that, he followed behind only to see a massive space inside.

Amethyst and Artemis slumped down just after the phoenix woman and blew some purple flames into the fireplace. Atlas smiled when he saw this, but that's when he noticed Estelle getting ready to cook something for them.

Meanwhile, Nulia and Grishna entered the bathroom, chatting animatedly about monster hunting. The conversation brought a smile to his face as he thought,

'They seem to be getting on well.'
