Chapter 86: Chapter 86 - Hawk’s Eye
Chapter 86: - Hawk’s Eye
A hidden feature was discovered in the Bow of Artemis. The artifact began to pulse with a mystical luminescence, a hidden potential unlocked. Broken raised the bow, its aura shimmering in the evening haze.
"Did you unlock a secret power in that bow?" Freya's voice was a blend of disbelief and admiration. "The appraisal skill of your Unique Blacksmith Class is truly remarkable."
Broken's features twisted into an intense grin as he nodded, drawing her attention to his right eye. It had undergone a peculiar metamorphosis; his pupil now bore the striking resemblance of a hawk's eye.
"Indeed," he confirmed. "And I gained this eye in the process. Can you see the change in my right eye?"
Freya leaned closer. "Yes, it's incredible. Is it permanent? Show me the description. What kind of ability does it grant you? Could it be like x-ray vision, something that lets you see through obstacles, or... through people's clothes?"
"I believe it's more like the second one," he said, his gaze dropped momentarily to Freya.
Freya slapped his arm. "Don't you dare treat a lady with such notions, especially in the depths of the wild.".
Broken obliged, revealing the new ability granted to him by the now-glowing Bow of Artemis.
[Hawk's Eye (Passive Skill)]

"That's an invaluable skill for an archer," Freya exclaimed. "An archer's essence lies in precision and accuracy. Being able to see farther and clearer ensures every arrow finds its mark, transforming them into formidable hunters."
"Then it's settled," he declared with a determined smile. "We're going hunting while hiding from the Ass guild's pursuit."
Broken and Freya vaulted onto Polly's sturdy back, her powerful legs carrying them swiftly through the dense undergrowth of the jungle. The foliage whipped past them.
[Party - Journey Into the Jungle]
[1. Broken - Lv. 48 (Party Leader)]
[2. Freya - Lv. 125]
As they pressed deeper into the woods, suddenly, a daunting presence emerged from the shadows. Their eyes fixed on the formidable silhouette lurking ahead-the Wild Thorny. [Rare - Wild Thorny Lv. 130]
This creature was a menacing beast with an impenetrable dark green body, piercing yellow eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness, and an armor of sharp blackthorns protruding from its back and head like menacing spikes. Each step it took reverberated through the ground, carrying an ominous air.
Freya readied her bow. "We need to get you accustomed to fighting monsters of this level. Let's target its head!"
Without hesitation, Broken responded. He smoothly drew his bow. His eyes, now gleaming with a hawk's precision, zeroed in on the monster's head.
"Got you!"
In a heartbeat, the arrows were released, slicing the air with lethal speed and embedding themselves in the creature's head. The Wild Thorny staggered, its balance wavering under the unexpected assault.
"If only I could use the Piercing Arrows skill from my Bow, but the mana cost is too high," Broken murmured. "It needs 600 Mana to execute. I can only afford it twice at most."
The Wild Thorny, unfazed by the initial attack, let out a thunderous bellow that echoed through the forest. In response, Broken switched weapons seamlessly, brandishing the Iron Heart Sword with determination. As Polly darted towards the monster, he leaped from her back with a sprinter's grace.
[Charged Attack (Active Skill) Lv. 1]
Broken launched forward in a blur, his strike landing with unerring precision on the monster's side, knocking it off balance and sending it crashing to the ground.
"Phew... that is so cool," Freya called out as she released a cascade of arrows that rained down upon the Wild Thorny in rapid succession.
[Quick Strike (Active Skill) Lv. 1]
Broken danced around the flailing beast, diving in to drive his weapon deep into what seemed to be its neck before retreating back into a strategic position. Swiftly, he uncorked a mana potion, the liquid infusing him with renewed energy, ready for the decisive blow. Meanwhile, Freya's relentless barrage of arrows continued unabated, each shot a testament to her extraordinary skill and unwavering concentration.
[Severing Strike (Active Skill)]
Broken darted in, delivering a fatal strike to the already wounded section of the monster's body. However, the Wild Thorny retaliated fiercely, its massive claw swiping him aside and sending him sprawling against a nearby tree with bone-jarring force.
Yet, the relentless duo continued. Their combined onslaught, a symphony of coordinated strikes and flawless teamwork, eventually brought the formidable beast to its knees. With one final attack, the Wild Thorny let out a defeated roar before collapsing in a defeated heap.

Exhausted and with adrenaline still coursing through their veins, Broken and Freya paused to catch their breath. The eerie jungle around them seemed to fall momentarily silent, as if even the forest acknowledged their hard-fought victory.
"What a fight!" Freya exclaimed. "And now I truly understand the power of the blessing bestowed upon you by our glorious Goddess of The Sloth."
With a knowing smile, Broken nodded.
"Even though you don't gain experience from slaying these monsters, it's incredible how the drop rate of valuable items has skyrocketed."
"But hunting monsters like this does delay my Self Transcendence's progress."
"She really does force you to indulge in laziness, doesn't she?" Freya added with a chuckle.
As they ventured deeper into the jungle, the landscape around them changed subtly. The trees grew taller, their leafy canopies thickening to obscure much of the darkening sky. The sun had begun its descent, casting long, eerie shadows and painting the world in hues of twilight. Strange noises echoed through the dense forest-unsettling screeches and howls that sounded like restless predators prowling the night. Every so often, the pair would catch fleeting glimpses of peculiar creatures lurking in the shadows. Without hesitation, they executed their strategy, hunting and dispatching every monster with practiced efficiency. Polly's nimble movements facilitated surprise attacks from a distance, and once the creatures began to tire, Broken would leap into the fray, engaging them in fierce close-quarter combat.
Their relentless efforts did not go unnoticed.
[Congratulations, Broken! You have successfully slain multiple monsters beyond your level with an impressive kill streak.]
[You are now known as the Fearless Slayer!]
[For this achievement, you receive 40 stat points!]
At last, a triumphant cheer escaped Broken's lips as the notifications filled his field of vision.
"Finally! Forty stat points!"
Broken looked contemplative, already considering how to allocate his newfound power.
"I need these stat points to boost my damage potential significantly and to use my skills
easily."
Out of nowhere, Freya sprang forward and enveloped him in a joyous hug. "Yeah... Congrats,
Broken!"
Caught off guard, Broken half-heartedly grumbled, "Shut up and keep your composure, Ms. Overreacted to Everything."
Freya pulled back, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Pfft, you're so stiff when it comes to
women, aren't you?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
He chuckled. "The issue is your actions are somewhat suspicious."
