Chapter 623: Chapter 623 - Yara’s Suspicions

Broken and Aerin found themselves in an entirely new place, realizing they had been transported into a pocket dimension within the Unseen Universe Necklace.

As Aerin surveyed her surroundings, she noticed the sky was shrouded in darkness, with a familiar moon hanging low on one side.

Her eyes drifted across the landscape until they settled on a small lake, its surface shimmering under the soft glow of moonlight. Drawn to the serene scene, she walked to the lake's edge and perched herself on a large rock.

Broken followed her.

"Does this mean I'm the first person to enter this place after you? Doesn't that make me someone special?"

Broken smiled at her words. "Do you really need to ask that, Princess?"

"Oh, clearly you still have a lot to learn about how to make a woman happy, huh?"

"Don't tell me you're not happy with all this," Broken countered with a smirk.

"It just seems you're still as stubborn as ever, the same man I've always known." Broken moved closer and took a seat on a large rock beside her. They sat in comfortable silence for a while, both gazing at the lake's shimmering surface. Aerin had dipped her feet into the water, creating soft ripples that spread outward, reflecting the silvery light of the moon above.

"So, who knows about this expedition you're going on?"

"The king... the two knight grand crosses... and a few servants in the palace."

"Just them?" Broken frowned slightly, giving her a questioning look.

Aerin turned to him, pausing for a moment as if considering her answer. Their eyes met, and she seemed to hesitate before speaking again.

"Yes, just them," she said with a small nod.

"Maybe it's because there are only a few people I truly trust," she admitted softly. "My two knights and a handful of servants. That's it."

"Why didn't you include the king on that list, Aerin?"

Aerin smiled faintly and glanced away.

"It seems you don't hesitate to get straight to the point."

A moment of silence passed before she spoke again.

"I do trust him—he's my father and the King of Dissidia Kingdom. I respect him and do my best to meet his expectations," she said softly.

"Does His Majesty also expect you to participate in wars like you usually do?"

Aerin exhaled softly, and answered. "He wanted an heir who could fight-a man to carry on his legacy. Maybe that's why not everyone approves of my presence," she admitted.

Broken remained silent, letting her words linger in the air.

"You certainly share more about these deeper matters of the kingdom with me," he finally said.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Aerin turned to him, a small smile gracing her lips. "You were the one who trusted me first. You gave me the only key to this dimension. It's only fair that I repay your trust with this story."

If Princess Alora was indeed the sole surviving heir of the King and the rightful crowned Princess, one would expect her to have the unwavering support of her father.

However, it was painfully clear to many that the King often chose silence when the Princess faced open ridicule and challenges-particularly from the king's own brother, who was rumored to be plotting to seize the throne.

Broken rose to his feet and extended his hand toward her.

"Let's go. I know we both crave adventure, which is why I'm eager to visit the village of the forest elves."

Aerin smiled at his words. She reached out and took his hand, their fingers intertwining. "We can get to Slumdon Town from here immediately."

Broken walked slowly toward the portal door, which shimmered with a transparent green energy. Without hesitation, he stepped through, and Aerin followed close behind.

However, the floor in his study on the other side was lower than the portal's exit. As Aerin stepped through, she stumbled, losing her balance. Before she could fall, Broken's hand shot out, firmly catching her by the waist and steadying her.

"Are you okay, Aerin?"

"Yes... Sorry... Thank you..." she replied in a quiet voice.

Just then, the door to the study creaked open, and Yara stepped inside, her arms full of

cleaning supplies.

Her eyes immediately landed on the scene in the room-Broken standing close to a strikingly beautiful woman. Her face flushed red in an instant.

"My Lord... I-I apologize," she stammered. "I thought you'd gone to the capital, so I came to clean the room."

Keeping her gaze firmly on the floor, Yara quickly backed out of the room, her movements flustered and hurried.

"I don't want to be fired... I don't want to be fired..." she muttered anxiously to herself as she scurried away.

Broken stepped out of his study to find Yara standing in the hallway, her head bowed and her hands trembling slightly.

"Yara..." he called softly.

She lifted her face hesitantly, her gaze flickering to Broken before landing on the girl beside him. Aerin stood silently, her hood pulled low to conceal the lower half of her face, leaving only her striking eyes visible.

"She's so beautiful," Yara whispered, but her words escaped before she could stop herself. Startled by her own slip, she quickly looked back at Broken. "My Lord, forgive me..." Broken shook his head lightly. "It's alright. Please, don't worry. But I have a favor to ask. Don't tell anyone about my friend's presence here. I'll be away for a few days. If you need anything, speak to Freya, and make sure to take good care of the house while I'm gone."

"Yes, My Lord..." Yara replied.

Broken turned away, and Aerin silently followed.

Yara remained rooted in place, her eyes fixed on the hallway where the two figures had disappeared. Something about Aerin gnawed at her thoughts, a familiarity she couldn't quite

pinpoint.

"She's so beautiful."

"I feel like I've seen her before, but I can't remember where."

Her gaze lingered on the spot where Aerin had been moments ago.

"She reminded me of Princess Alora," Yara muttered to herself. "But... Her name is Aerin."

"Such a lovely name."
