Infinite Potential System

Chapter 433 Mana Pattern, Stabilizing The World

After William sorted out everything with Charlotte, he had no reason left to remain in the palace. There were still a few Superior Cores left to absorb on the Velos Continent, then last would be Azures.

William didn't forget to spend some of his Potential Points to upgrade the Gills Talent, since the Superior Water Vein had been absorbed already. There were only two Resistance Talents left to Ascend: Polarity Resistance and Aging Resistance.

So far, the Gravity Farm had earned William 350 Fruits, but he would still need seven more months before it was fully comprehended. William had originally planned for the Gravity Element to be fully comprehended at the same time that he reached the peak in Cultivation, but he hadn't expected to be able to Ascend his Cultivation Talent so soon.

Because his new Cultivation Technique was absurdly strong, and the Cultivation Talent boosted his speed by three hundred and fifty-two times, William needed hardly any time at all to reach the peak. In comparison, the Element Farms were just too slow.

But to reach A-Rank with any Element is a hundred million Potential Points, and S-Rank is a full Ascended Point. If I waste my Points time and time again, I'll never unlock the Chaotic Storage. William thought as he caressed his finger over one of the World Seeds.

They had been hidden under his Illusionist's Cloak this entire time, and William was worried that getting into battle would damage them somehow. To prevent this, he needed the Chaotic Storage more than anything.

System, does this mean I'm finally going to get my absurdly broken storage system that every protagonist has? William asked.

-Who would make you the protagonist of any novel? Be more realistic.

I like to think that there are people out there that like my personality!

-Probably not.

... What about the storage, though? Is it good?

-You've seen the shop. It's one cubic meter.

What about afterwards?

-You'll know when you buy the upgrades.

Damn it, don't tell me this is one of your rules again? Wait, no you told me about the Element Farms so it must be something else. William's mind was a mess trying to figure out the System's rules. Either he was missing something, or the System's rules weren't static.

The System didn't respond, so William chose to consume the Element Fruits that had grown so far. It had been almost nine months since he checked the warehouse, so 450 Fruits of each Element besides Gravity and Chaos were waiting for him.

The Chaos Farm was purchased seven months prior, and the Gravity Farm was bought two months after that. Since the Gravity Farm was A-Rank, William earned five hundred Gravity Fruits, but there were only 350 Chaos Fruits in storage.

Regardless, it was a good haul. After spending nine days to consume the Element Fruits, William's comprehension of the Order Element was the highest at 97.6 percent. Since it was currently July 11th, the Order Element would be fully comprehended by the next harvest in 13 days.

-Primary Law of Order (97.6% comprehension): You understand almost the entirety of the Order Element's Primary Law. Your Order Element has been enhanced greatly by your comprehension and you notice something different about your Order Mana. There may be even more effects. Comprehend the Order Element or visit ??? to learn more.

After reading the description, William mobilized some of his Order Mana to circulate around his fingertips. As he inspected its movements and natural properties, William did in fact notice that something was different about the Order Element.

To phrase it better, it wasn't that there was anything different about it, but that William couldn't see it before. The Mana particles that usually moved around in an almost unpredictable manner were appearing one by one in his mind. Even without the Vision Talent, William would have noticed that the Mana Particles were more like an absurdly complex game of connect the dots.

Some Mana Particles were larger than the others and would remain almost perfectly still, only vibrating slightly in response to the movements of the smaller Mana Particles. These were the "dots" of connect the dots.

The smaller Mana Particles were like the line, rushing from one larger Mana Particle to the next. When he followed a single Mana Particle, William saw that they formed the same circuit, repeating its movements after roughly two or three seconds.

When he channeled more Mana around his hands and arm, William noticed that the pattern didn't change at all!

The amount of Mana was greater, but the pattern was the same unless he manipulated the Mana in a way that it wasn't supposed to move. Even more fascinating was that the Order Mana would grow stronger and weaker depending on how much he stuck to this specific pattern.

If he tried to break the pattern, the Spell would fall apart immediately. If he modified it slightly, the Spell would still work, but it was much weaker than usual. The X-Rank Order Element was only comparable to when it was S-Rank with certain patterns.

It's good to see that there's a pattern, but there's something special about the way these Particles move. I need to test this more. William thought to himself as he controlled the Order Mana to circulate around his pointer finger.

He opened a portal to the Superior Death Vein, allowing the System to do the absorption this time while he tested the Order Element. There was a good chance that he wouldn't learn anything until the Element was fully comprehended, but he wasn't wasting very much time by testing it now.

At the most, a few extra weeks would pass since the System couldn't absorb multiple Superior Cores at once.

While William was fiddling with his Order Element, the sky darkened until it was almost a pure black, dimmer than the usual night sky. The Players and residents of Efretta had grown accustomed to the sky changing over the last few months, but this time it felt a little different than usual.

It wasn't a Heavenly Tribulation forming, or a massive Magical Beast Tide. There was no Ascension Portal, no Heavenly Lightning, no roars and growls of dangerous creatures.

Actually, there was nothing, and that was the most ominous thing for normal people and weak Cultivators.

After all, William, Fria, and his Companion Beasts had been dealing with the Beast Tides by themselves up until now. As long as normal people remained under the protection of the Tier 6 Arrays surrounding their cities, no harm would come to them.

Their fears only grew when the Superior Necromancy Vein was absorbed next, placing many Necromancers in danger when their weaker undead fell apart while the stronger ones turned against them.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

This also seemed to be a turning point for the World, which finally started to destabilize from the lack of so many Elements. The natural Mana became incredibly thin, turning many prosperous areas until barren lands, which would become a trend across the World as long as Cultivators kept Cultivating.

The Mana density became so low that William found himself unable to cast complex Spells that drew Mana from the environment, even with the Life and Earth Elements that had yet to be disabled.

At this rate, the Heavens could just wait for all of his Elements to be disabled, then swoop in and capture him. In the process, they would probably strengthen Efretta's seals and all of William's efforts would be wasted.

To prevent this, William decided to make use of some of the things Efretta taught him. The World Seed for Efretta was in his hands now, so William could channel his own Mana inside to fuel the World.

With the help of his Mana Dominator Talent, William recovered 32 thousand Mana per hour, meaning he could commit a portion of that amount to slow down the rate of the World's destruction.

He used a Complete Mana Absorption Array on himself that would draw out his Mana, then improved it as much as possible until it could draw out a thousand Mana per hour. After creating a total of eleven identical Arrays, William diverted ten of them directly into the Efretta World Seed.

Thankfully it had been long enough since William casted repeated Blessing Spells, so his Mana Reserves were currently full. Since his Mana Regeneration was essentially reduced to 21 thousand Mana per hour, William would need almost sixteen days to fully recover from 0.

He made sure to allow the Absorption Arrays to take Mana of any Element, which showed its value when the dark sky shifted in color again until it was a pale blue. The Fate and Karma Mages that were equivalent to normal people for months found themselves able to use their Elements again, and the Necromancers fighting their own undead wrested control once more.

That said, people like Su Yanyu found that their Elements were much weaker than before, C-Rank Magic only comparable to D or E-Rank and F-Rank Magic almost worthless.

Those with weak Cultivation and F-Rank Water Magic found themselves hardly able to spray water more than a meter in front of themselves, but it was better than nothing. The functionality of all the Elements across the World had returned, and that was enough to stabilize Efretta once more.
