Chapter 251: Stark and Clone VS Reaper and Lother

Lother, the grotesque white giant who was standing up on his two feet, looking down at the two Stark with his impressive 12 meters height, suddenly jumped toward the clone, and used its skill.

"Grave Grasp," his four arms all elongated toward the clone, trying to grab and crush it.

But…

"Invincible Dodge," it immediately rolled away every time the hands tried to grab it, sent five crimson spears toward Lother, all hitting him.

"-12732! -13821! -14985! -14334! -13948!" the clone seemed to be doing good damage, so Stark immediately stopped looking and worrying about it, instead focusing on his own battle: the one against Reaper.

To be honest, there was no way for Stark to defeat these two things in a 2v1, so he was happy that the clone actually able to help, otherwise he would have been fucked.

Now… one of them needed to kill their opponent, then overwhelm the second and kill it too.

But Reaper… seemed unbeatable.

"SCULK NECKLACE, ACTIVATE!" he decided to finally use the necklace he had acquired, the sculk liquid that emerged from it slashing in Reaper's direction thrice, yet it did nothing as the apostle just moved his hands, making the sculk look like it was pure weak slime.

He was slowly walking toward Stark, unbothered by the sculk and the fact his ally was already fighting, the dark aura in the eye sockets of the skull glowing.

"Scythe Dance," he began to slowly pull his scythe back, as if he is charging a powerful attack, and he probably was, to be honest, "Let's see you avoid this."

~SWING~

Stark barely had time to react.

Reaper spun, a blur of motion that broke the line between the physical and the ethereal, and dark blades sliced through the air, a whirlwind of death surrounding Stark.

He felt the rush of wind as each sweep cut toward him, leaving no room for escape.

"Invincible Dodge!" Stark ducked low, rolling to the side, barely evading the first wave, the air crackled with the energy of the attack, and he could hear the shriek of the blades as they cut through the space where he had just stood.

Reaper's movements were fluid and uncounterable, but Stark couldn't let himself be mesmerized; he focused on the rhythm, anticipating the next strike.

The ground trembled as the scythe cleaved through the arena floor, sending splintered debris flying, Stark leaped backward, narrowly dodging another barrage.

"You're faster than you look," he called out, forcing confidence into his voice.

Reaper merely chuckled, the sound low and chilling. "You have no idea."

"CRIMSON SPEARS," he summoned his five spears, then sent them all in different directions toward his opponent.

"…" but even though Reaper had no 'shield' or 'defensive' skill, he quite literally just swung his scythe five times extremely fast, deflecting the five spears with it, "Alright, projectiles won't work…"

"AURA SMASH!" but he immediately used another skill while Reaper closed in the distance again, summoning three crimson fists as he didn't have the time to merge them.

But he didn't actually send them toward Reaper, not at all, instead… he sent them at Lother, who was busy fighting the clone, clearly overwhelming it but not having enough speed to touch it with its hands or skills such as [Grave Grasp], [Burial Mound] or [Bone Barrage].

~BOOM, BOOM, BOOM~

"-33271! -34998! -31576!"

"…" Lother at this point was getting absolutely demolished, and it was almost pitiful how easily overwhelmed it was simply because its weakness was projectiles.

[Lother HP: 177371/600000]

Stark was too busy fighting Reaper to check out the damage he had done, so he left the rest up to his clone, and he would try to occasionally help it.

~SLAM~

Lother hit the wall again, then ate the 150 undead that fell from above using [Undead Sacrifice], growing stronger.

And so now…

"Crimson Spears," the clone calmly sent another spear toward the white titan, expecting it to be hit again.

And yet…

Fwish!

Almost as if teleporting, it actually avoided the projectiles, having reached the halfway point of its [Undead Sacrifice], meaning that it had gained a significant boost not only in speed, but also attack and defense.

"ECHOING WAIL, CURSED AURA" it stretched its mouth wider, almost reaching the floor at the point, frankly disgusting, then activated two of its 'passive skills'.

First, [Echoing Wail] was kind of weird, since from the massive stretched mouth of the monster came a very… weird sound, it sounded sad, and after a few seconds it could definitely be identified as crying.

[The necrotic energy hit you… but it failed since the 'confusion' effect doesn't affect a clone or someone with the 'Domination' class.]

Yet it did nothing.

And as for the second skill…

Fwish!

Remember that black aura fog that came out from Lother's mouth constantly? Well this was the [Cursed Aura], it was a skill it was using constantly for a while before activating it as it was a [Condition] skill, as you might have guessed.

And so… Lother opened his mouth as much as possible, and… let out an exceptional amount of [Cursed Aura] out of it, engulfing the entire arena, and even reaching the stands where all the spectators were.

[Skill: Cursed Aura (LEGENDARY)]

[Skill: A dark mist envelops the area around Lother, increasing his own defense and weakening nearby enemies (and even allies).]

[Your defense has been reduced!]

Such a message appeared in front of Stark, but he didn't mind it because… it also meant that Reaper's defense was decreased.

"…" and more surprising of all, Reaper was actually eyeing Lother with a gaze full of hate and disgust, "This fool doesn't learn, does he," he mumbled before facing Stark again, "Let us end this, human, I have things to take care of."

And so, the [Scythe Dance] resumed, though before he continued, Reaper used another one of his skills: [Phantom Veil].

A shroud of darkness enveloped Reaper, the mist swirling around him like a living thing, and he vanished into the shadows.

'Huh? Did he teleport…?' was what Stark wanted to wonder for around two seconds, until he eventually realized that the glimmering edge of the scythe was still visible, meaning that he had quite literally just become invisible, though his scythe couldn't do that.

Stark squinted, straining to pinpoint Reaper's location amidst the swirling chaos of the battle between the [Superior Clone] and Lother, which seemed to gradually become more and more difficult for the clone since every time Lother would use a skill and miss, it would hit one of the stands, and Lother would immediately eat the undead to become stronger.

"Come on, you coward!" Stark taunted Reaper, forcing himself to stay calm, anticipating the strike he knew would come, but the scythe remained, glinting ominously in the darkness of the area filled with cursed aura, which also made it a bit harder to see.

And the funny thing is that two of them actually stood still for actual minutes: Reaper waiting for the opportunity to strike, and Stark expecting an attack to avoid it, and so in the meantime, both decided to observe the fight between Lother and the clone, which had only reached its middle point.

"Crimson Spears, Aura Smash," the clone would calmly send projectiles whenever it could, yet Lother would avoid them all, the white titan feeling more confident as its mouth contorted into a terrifying grin.

Of course, Stark had his [Crimson Purification], but using it right now with the constant threat of Reaper killing him wasn't a good idea, plus what if he needed it later?

But right as Lother devoured another row of undead…

The monster finally decided to use its second most powerful skill.

"SHOVEL WIELDER!"
