Chapter 124: The Crystal Stun Potion
[Do you want to learn how to craft this potion?]
[Y/N?]
'Yes…'
And as soon as he confirmed his choice… another panel appeared before him.
[You have learned how to craft the 'Crystal Stun Potion'!]
Suddenly, the knowledge of how to craft the potion entered his head, which slightly hurt as it was the first time he experienced it, but after a few seconds the pain went away, replaced by knowledge, it was weird that you couldn't craft the potions even while knowing the ingredients if you didn't have the knowledge, but he guessed that it was to not make the [Alchemist] class too overpowered.
And immediately afterward… another panel appeared.
[Potions are the sole power of an alchemist, you cannot rely on skill or stats, so your sole objective is to upgrade your level and acquire powerful potions!]
'Fair…'
…
[Crystal Stun Potion]
[Type:] Epic
[Required Level to Craft:] 25
[Perk:] Throwable potion, if you manage to hit your opponent with it, the liquid will temporarily stun them!
[Ingredients:] 1x Crystal Shard, 1x Sparkling Water
…
'Huh… wait a minute…'
The problem with being an alchemist though wasn't only about getting potions and leveling up, but also about finding the ingredients needed for those potions.
[Sparkling Water] in itself was extremely common, but [Crystal Shard] would be difficult to find or fairly expensive.
And yet… Stark was smiling.
The reason: wasn't he in a rift full of those very same shards?
"ALCHEMIST!" he activated his skill as one of the basic perks was the ability to spot ingredients that could be useful for potions.
And just as expected… all around it were now hundreds upon hundreds of small points.
Text was written above each of them: [Crystal Shard].
Basically… Stark had found himself a massive supply of one of his needed ingredients for his most powerful potion yet.
Of course, he didn't know the powers of this 'stun potion', but wouldn't that be enough to guarantee him a hit on an enemy?
Plus, under normal circumstances, most alchemists would struggle or be forced to buy a [Storage Watch] to store all these ingredients in the limited space they had.
Yet… Stark had [Spatial Inventory], meaning that as soon as he read the text stating that the crystal shards were there, he immediately ran up to one, grabbed it, and put it inside his void.
The exit portal had already opened on top of the platform with Sierra's throne, but he wasn't interested in that for now.
[Crystal Shard acquired!]
In addition to that, the [Alchemist] skill would inform him every time he got an ingredient.
Meaning that each time he picked up a [Crystal Shard], he would hear a DING followed by a panel.
This kept going for two hours as once Stark grabbed all the shards inside the cave, he immediately moved to the tunnel as it was also filled with them.
And by the end of his ingredient search…
[x1673 Crystal Shards]
It took him a while, but now, he was confident that he had enough shards to give him as many potions as he wanted for a lifetime.
And who knows, maybe they will be useful for some stronger potions later!
He hadn't really thought about it, but the idea of finding new potions and recipes was exciting, plus they would aid him in battle, so merging both the [Domination] and [Alchemist] class could reveal itself to be much more interesting than he thought.
'Also…' he grinned, 'I have the 'Memories Museum' to try everything I want!'
After doing everything that he needed to do, including grabbing all equipments and checking out all his panels, Stark finally decided to leave.
And so he jumped inside the ocean-colored portal that appeared in front of the throne.
~FWISH, FIOUU~
'Never going to get used to this sensation…' he sighed as he had the same feeling of being transported through dimensions.
And after only twenty seconds, he emerged on the other side, feeling the rays of the sun on his face.
'Phew… I haven't been inside the rift for long so it's good that it's still day…' Stark sighed.
The [Electronic Watch] he had gotten that guided him here was still broken, so it was useless, but it also meant that Stark was forced to go back to civilization by himself.
It mustn't have been more than six hours since he entered the rift, meaning that he could finish his mission quickly and thus prove that he had the strength to access that 'Rift Conqueror Academy'.
"Spatial Inventory!" instinctively, he opened up his inventory void and grabbed his phone from it, he kept it in there since it would probably break if he kept it in his pocket during battle.
And once he turned on the screen…
His eyes widened, and his face became pale.
'…' he looked at his phone screen for a good minute.
And a panel even came to confirm what he feared.
[You have been inside 'Sierra's Death Path' for 2 weeks 5 days]
This didn't make sense, but even the date on his phone confirmed that fact.
['One-Classifier Run' rifts work differently than others, because as you are alone, time inside of it can move differently than inside of the real world!]
'Basically… time moves much slower when inside of the rift,' Stark grabbed his forehead and began to laugh, 'And that bastard didn't tell me…'
But Stark shook his head.
'No, there is a chance he didn't know.'
Since most classifiers that entered the rift usually died 5–10 minutes after entering it, it would be around a few hours in the real world, meaning that he possibly believed that they had gone far but still died…
'That's a good logic,' Stark nodded, 'BUT I DON'T CARE!'
After all he was still responsible for sending him to this shithole, he had indeed completed his mission though, so he better get back before they all believe he died.
If this didn't already happen, that is.
'The fact he didn't give me a watch or a way to get back to Fellarburg means that he had low expectations for me to survive…' Stark was assembling the pieces of the puzzle, and he was frankly beginning to hate that Moonless family more and more.
In the end, he decided to just get back using his legs.
He still had some food and water saved inside of his [Spatial Inventory], so now he just needed to get back to Fellarburg.
The next VIP express train won't arrive until at least a day, since it had already passed, so there was no point in sitting around and waiting here.
'DOMINATION!' he activated his skill, focusing the entirety of his aura around his legs, then began to run in the opposite direction which he came from.
He didn't have any panel or arrow to aid him this time, but he just followed his instinct.
'Just you wait…' he groaned as he began to run extremely fast, around half the speed of the actual train.
The more determination and anger Stark had inside of him, the more powerful his aura would become, and so that meant that his speed right now was enough to possibly get back to Fellarburg in 10 hours.
Until then, he just had to keep running…
