Chapter 27: Dump Feature
Chapter 27: Dump Feature
They got to the town and met with the town head. He said the goblins were rampaging every night for the past two weeks. Their town was already in ruins after the first few attacks.
The small green creatures would steal, destroy, and even hurt their townsfolk. The damages that they caused were too much. They had to look for help.
"Your guild had low rates, and our town had already been bankrupt," the leader said. "Please, eliminate the goblins."
"Okay," Lance said and exited the destroyed town hall.
There was barely any establishment that anyone could recognize. The damage in their town was indeed great.
Elliot was looking for a recipe in his Manual when they went to the entrance of the forest to rest. He thought that the goblins' carcasses would be a waste if he let it lying there.
"What are you looking for?" Connor asked.
"Something to do with the goblins' corpse after we're done," Elliot replied, flipping a page in his book. "There it is!"

Elliot pouted after reading the description. He had no offensive magical attacks therefore this item would be useless to him. Flipping through more pages, there were no other items that needed a goblin carcass. It rather needed their tools or their clothing.
"Lance?" Elliot called out.
Lance held out his hand. He was still talking to someone over the Contact. "Okay. Thank you, Midnight. What is it?"
"Can I keep the goblins after we're done with them?" Elliot asked.
"Are you going to stuff them? Because no. I'm not gonna let you do that," Lance joked but he nodded in agreement. "What are you going to do with them anyway?"
"Just something," was all Elliot's response.
The day went by and it was already nighttime. Sounds started to echo from the forest. The three took this as the signal for the mob to come.
"Remember, we kill the mob boss, we'll be done," Lance reminded.
"Okay," Elliot and Connor chorused.
After a few seconds of silence and a group of 3-foot goblins started attacking. Since it was still a Meteorite quest, Lance decided to sit it out. An attack from him would wipe out half of the mob anyway.
"Ghostly Flame!" Connor shot three goblins at once. "I leveled up!"
"Nice!" Elliot cheered and slashed a goblin's head off. He was slitting most of their throats or cutting their stomachs wide open.
He didn't really want to hunt goblins right now. They only give him 150XP and he needed thousands more to level up. Elliot was excited to level up more and earn more features. For now, the best one was the Creator's Greed skill.
Although he had never encountered a beast with a symbol on it, he was still looking forward to the future. Maybe there would be more skills to earn.
"Hasty Aspire!" Elliot darted himself on a small group and instantly wiped them all of with a rotation of his body. He was getting used to the instantaneous boost in stats from the skill.

A loud roar made Elliot and Connor snap their heads towards it. In the entrance of the forest, there lies a 6-foot goblin. He was carrying a large ax.

"The mob boss," Connor said. He looked at Elliot and scrunched his forehead when he saw his friend smiling.
'A symbol.' Elliot thought.
Elliot looked at Connor and smiled. "Let's go!"
"Supreme Malevolence!"
'Supreme Malevolence Activated.'
Elliot felt nothing but still pursued towards the boss. Connor was providing him support by sweeping off the goblins that got in his way.
"Hiya!" Elliot yelled. He dashed sideways, leaping and slashing his swords against the green beast. His attack landed on its arm, making it scream in pain.
'Supreme Malevolence 2.'
When Elliot fell to the ground after leaping, he sliced the beast's thigh.
'Supreme Malevolence 3.'
He continued attacking the beast, not letting it break his streak. But the beast had already fallen on his fifth one.
'Royal Goblin Killed. +500XP'
'You have earned the Fear the Lord.'

"Wow," Elliot sighed.
Connor walked towards him and smiled, "We did it!"
"Let's do the dance!"
The two did their badly choreographed danced they created when they got bored waiting for the goblins. It was composed of a lot of swaying of the hips.
"You two look like worms," Lance remarked that made the two stop dancing. "But you have finished the quest. Let's gather the carcass for now and let Elliot store it in his err, space magic stuff."
Elliot snorted but nodded, "Okay."
The three collected all the goblins from the mob. Elliot used Scan on them and identified the items he could use apart from the body.
'New Feature Unlocked, Dump.'
'After crafting, you have the option to dump the useless items.'
Now that's something I could use. Elliot thought.
A couple of minutes had passed, and they were done. They collected 53 goblins including the mob boss.
The three went over to the town hall to collect their reward and the stamp.
Upon filing a quest, the guild will provide a stamp to the one who filed it. After the quest is completed, the members would collect the stamp and bring it back to the guild house for confirmation.
"Should we wait until morning before going back?" Elliot asked when he saw Connor yawn.
"No need," Connor said. "I can travel just fine."
He was drowsing off and it made the other two chuckled.
"Is there any room we could use for the night?" Lance asked the leader.
He thought for a bit before sighing sadly, "The goblins had destroyed most of our homes. But I can offer you a bed to sleep in."
"A bed would do just fine," Elliot said.
The town leader took them to a roofless house and showed the three beds. "This was the house of a villager. They left the village a week ago so it should be just fine."
"Wait, how many villagers are left?" Elliot asked before the man could leave.
He sighed and smiled but tears were welling up in his eyes, "More than half of us had already left."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Elliot said and smiled apologetically.
The leader shook his head, "It's no problem. It's just part of life, I suppose."
After the man left, the three plopped down the beds. Elliot was scanning his inventory to craft the Goblin Talisman. He decided to give the item to Connor anyway. He was starting to become overpowered while his friend was still having a hard time.
Elliot paused after remembering the word 'friend'. It was still quite foreign for him that he still had a hard time grasping it.
"Friend. I like it."
