Chapter 59-2
Chapter 59-2
"My Lord Cardinal, three heir Dukes and two heir Marquises have already been captured. However, the number of protesters outside is increasing rapidly, reaching nearly a million. If we forcefully handle this, it may have very unfavorable consequences."
Inside the cathedral, a clergyman informed Cardinal Ferren. Cardinal Ferren pondered for a moment and subconsciously looked at Su Mo.
"Then give them evidence," Su Mo said casually.
In fact, there was plenty of evidence. Although these Villains executed their plan seamlessly, Su Mo helped them reconstruct a lot of evidence.
For instance, the magic circle that the succubi used was reinforced and restored. Additionally, being a Demon God, Su Mo easily fabricated some evidence. The locations of all these pieces of evidence were already in the demon's mind, and the Holy See had them in their possession.
The people gathered in the Temple Square increased, and Su Mo appeared.
"Count of Moshi Territory!"
When they saw Su Mo, the voices of the protesting crowd instinctively lowered. The square became quiet. This showed the high prestige Su Mo held in the hearts of these people. This time, Su Mo's deeds of calming the storm had already spread throughout the entire capital, further increasing his reputation.
"Not good, he's coming out!"
Seeing Su Mo, the faces of the captured Villains changed. They initially thought the Protagonist within the Holy See was dealing with them, but now, it seemed that wasn't the case. It appeared they were in trouble with Su Mo, whom they considered a thorn in their sides. Moreover, what happened next made their faces pale. After Su Mo appeared, without much talk, he directly had the Holy See's mages present the evidence one by one. As each piece of evidence was presented and confirmed, the crowd emitted waves of sighs.
"I didn't expect them to really collude with demons!"
"My grandmother died in this invasion, all because of them!"
"They must be hanged!"
On the Temple Square, public opinion quickly changed. Even some nobles were rendered speechless in the face of this evidence, let alone the common people.
"Where did the Holy See get this evidence?"
"Not good, there's a magic circle that wasn't destroyed…"
"We're finished. This time, we're done for… Count of Moshi Territory is likely behind this. I always felt something was off. He probably knew about our plan a long time ago. Why else would he block Myles so accurately?"
^In the Villain group, several Villains were completely panicked. Their last struggles were futile. In the face of absolute strength and conclusive evidence, their resistance was in vain. Moreover, the more they thought about it, the more they felt something was wrong. They vaguely felt that the entire situation was likely manipulated by Count of Moshi Territory behind the scenes.
Finally, all the evidence was presented.
The square was now filled with indignant voices. Cardinal Ferren personally announced the plan for dealing with these noble heirs: public execution by hanging to demonstrate punishment. Their families, since they did not participate in the events, would not be affected.
Soon, these Villains were escorted to the other end of the square, where a platform for public hangings was set up. Each Villain had a rope tied around their necks and was suspended above a trapdoor. The Protagonist from the sign-in flow, Long Hua, walked towards the gallows with an unpleasant expression.
It was his responsibility to pull the wooden planks beneath the feet of these Villains, making him the one to kill them officially. This action would earn him a wave of Protagonist Points.
Despite this unexpected windfall, Long Hua couldn't find joy in the situation. Although some Protagonists in the group assured him not to worry and to claim the benefits first before confronting Su Mo, he couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling.
"Wait, Cardinal Ferren, let the Templar Knights join in as well. Have the Tribunal and the Templar Knights jointly pass judgment on these criminals. It seems to carry a better symbolic meaning," Su Mo's voice echoed again. He pointed towards one of the Templar Knights, who happened to be the Protagonist among them.
"Long Hua, I'll join you. Don't worry, he won't let us go anyway. Let's upgrade our golden fingers first and then confront him," the Templar Knight Protagonist reassured Long Hua within the Protagonist group. Compared to Long Hua, he remained relatively composed.
The Protagonist from the sign-in flow and the Templar Knight Protagonist approached the gallows from opposite ends. Long Hua stood in front of a Villain, and as he faced the Villain's desperate gaze, Long Hua's expression wasn't any better.
The Villain had long recognized Long Hua's identity. When he saw that a Protagonist had come to execute him, the Villain was momentarily stunned. Then, he reacted and laughed, "You've been raised like pigs by him."
"Damn it!" Long Hua couldn't hold back. He pulled the rope, and the Villain was hoisted up.
"Haha, it seems like I'm not the only one suffering!"
On the other side, the Templar Knight Protagonist wasted no words and swiftly pulled off one rope after another. In the end, due to Long Hua's mental breakdown, the Templar Knight Protagonist even ended up pulling an extra rope.
"I've upgraded to Silver Level. My divine talent has reached a new level. Hmph, I'll let Count of Moshi Territory know the meaning of raising a tiger and causing trouble." The Templar Knight Protagonist snorted within the Protagonist group.
The Protagonist from the sign-in flow received a notification on his Protagonist panel. Killing these Villains had earned him enough Protagonist Points to upgrade his golden finger to Silver Level! Once reaching Silver Level, his growth would be even faster.
However, he couldn't find any joy in this development. He subconsciously glanced at Su Mo and found that Su Mo's gaze was indifferent, not paying attention to them at all. Such calmness from Su Mo made the Protagonist from the sign-in flow feel even more dejected.
Although the Templar Knight Protagonist was confident, the sign-in flow Protagonist felt like they were two pigs that had been raised for slaughter. It all depended on when Su Mo decided to butcher them.
