Upon accepting the mission, the color atop the Life Vine’s head instantaneously changed to light green, and Song Jian could no longer attack it.

“Remember your promise!” The voice of the Life Vine echoed in Song Jian’s ear as a puff of transparent flame emerged from its body and quickly began burning.

Song Jian was taken aback as he prepared to depart when one of the remaining two flowers of the Life Vine voluntarily detached itself and drifted towards him, while the other remaining flower became even more vibrant, but soon began to shrivel slowly, revealing a seed the size of a fist at the center of the flower.

Song Jian heard an ethereal, melancholy song in his ears that moved him towards tears.

Before long, Life Vine burned to ashes, leaving behind a shiny Seed of Life.

This Seed of Life bore an outer surface nearly identical to the texture of snake’s scales and felt somewhat chill to the touch.
