Chapter 606: Six Hundred and Two: Encounter an Ambush
Chapter 606: Chapter Six Hundred and Two: Encounter an Ambush
In the vast sea of blood, barely eleven of the original eighteen Divine Feathers were left, maneuvering under the snow with the Retractive Breath Technique. By suppressing their spiritual power to its limit, they forbade it from circulating around them. In the most primitive way, they crawled under the thick snow, under the cover of the heavy snowfall. This combined force planned to strike the last blow on the North Mountain in this way.
The final plan received unanimous approval from everyone. After losing the Green Phoenix, they realized that if they were still discovered while approaching in this secretive manner, it would be pointless for them to stay here any longer.
Having designed the plan himself, Mi Hu knew he had failed. He could not remember the last time he had failed, but he would never forget the defeated Divine Feathers who had returned with their feathers clipped this time around.
The Clan Chief Mi Jin had high hopes for this combined force, nearly exhausting the strength of all active members. Six top-level Martial Ancestors plus Mi Hu himself constituted a force capable of wiping out a small city single-handedly, yet they were unable to make any headway in the North Mountain.
Even till today, he did not know where he fell short. He never found Tang Luo’s position. He once quietly infiltrated the peak of Qianyun Mountain on the outer edge of the North Mountain, hoping he could figure out where Tang Luo was, disrupting their ambush again and again. But having stood on the lonely peak overnight, he still had no clue.
Some say failure is not terrifying, as long as one gains something, it is not considered a complete defeat. But at this moment, Mi Hu had obtained nothing from this major defeat.
He let down his clan and the front-line martial artists. After that ambush, he considered returning from the North Mountain and rejoining the battlegrounds, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to flee like a drowning dog.
So, this last sudden attack was his declaration of war against Tang Luo!
They abandoned the dignity of Martial Ancestors, and crawled in the snow in the most primitive way. Suppressing all their spiritual power in their dantian. Like the oldest assassins, they endured the bitter cold and darkness for a chance to get closer to their adversary.
Starting fifty miles away, they moved stealthily from one mountain top to another.
They dared not show their heads, and could only follow a few Martial Ancestors with the best sense of direction through the snow. They had no direction, no solid objects, no supplies, and no light.
The strong bodies, which were immune to the cold, became cold due to long hours of freezing, but the rage in their hearts was bursting out with the passage of time.
“Twenty miles to the south is SheWu Ridge. Tang Luo still hasn’t made noise, so this plan could work!” Mi Hu, who led the group, estimated the distance, exhilarated.
Since December, the Divine Feathers had hardly gotten within twenty miles of North Mountain. Usually, the North Mountain’s defense army would stop them thirty miles away. So the fact that they could get this close to North Mountain was a direct indication of the viability of their plan.
As long as they got closer to the foot of SheWu Mountain, they could freely vent their anger. As the last assembly of the eighteen Divine Feathers, they wanted to make the North Mountain community feel the anger of the Martial Ancestors.
Mi Hu had already planned it all out. As soon as they got closer, they would divide and scatter, launching guerrilla attacks on the North Mountain guardians, mainly to destroy the mountain.
“Master, where are we now?”
Just as Mi Hu was excitedly contemplating, a teammate’s voice reached his ears. It was his teammate, Mi Xing. This Martial Ancestor with a very poor sense of direction, had to ask for direction and location every once in a while.
“We’re just twenty miles away from SheWu Mountain. Just ten more miles and we can start the slaughter. Be patient!” said Mi Hu whilst answering via transmitting sound, which required him to dig his way through the snow accumulation in front of him.
As soon as Mi Xing heard that more than half of the journey had been covered, he was overjoyed. A smell of slaughter appeared in his mouth as he let out a low roar, “This time, I will twist off Tang Luo’s head!”
“Silence!” Mi Hu, his eyebrows furrowed, transmitted sound, “Don’t forget about Tang Luo’s incredibly mysterious ability to eavesdrop. Be careful, or it will all have been in vain!”
These days they had gathered some kind of information. For instance, they knew that Tang Luo could hear them whenever they spoke, but he probably wouldn’t hear their mind-transmitted conversations.
Tang Luo was expected to be seen earliest when approaching from the sky, and then later when flying behind a cover.
They had already reached a twenty-mile perimeter outside Mount North, all conversation had to be done through mind transmission, as Mi Hu didn’t want all of their effort to go in vain because of his teammate’s carelessness.
But just after rebuking his teammate, Mi Hu’s face changed suddenly because he felt four powerful pressures from above. They came with an aura greater than that of the Fierce Realm!
As the Retractive Breath Technique subsided, and the suppression of their spiritual power lifted, eleven distinct green shadows rose from the snow, colliding forcefully with the huge golden palms pressing down from all sides.
The severe spiritual pressure solidified the thick snow, exposing the ready Martial Ancestors of the Mi Clan. As the four Rulai palm strikes bore down like a heavy mountain, Mi Hu calmly commanded, “Prepare for the Divine Wood Strike!”
Although the Qingmu Battle Body, condensed by the green wood’s true energy, offered amazing defense, it still could not withstand the combined Rulai strike from the Tang Clan. This was not because the Tang Clan’s magic technique was superior, but rather due to the qualitative change in the accumulation of spiritual power.
If you say that the range from zero to 999 is the first phase of spiritual power, then the first qualitative change occurs when it reaches a thousand points. As long as the quantity of spiritual power runs into thousands, the spiritual power which used to disperse like a cloud, now seems to gain some stickiness, which allows the user to sculpt it into proper shapes according to his heart’s desire. Some particular arrangements and shapes could significantly enhance the attack intensity of the spiritual power. And so, the concept of Spirit Art begins when one reaches the Transcending Mortal level.
When the spiritual power reaches ten thousand points, it undergoes the second qualitative change, if it’s said that the Spirit Art before ten thousand points only has form, then the Spirit Art after ten thousand points gets its soul, dragons and tigers will roar, and pythons can coil.
So, the Transcending Mortal combination and the Fierce Realm’s Spirit Art mostly have the divine effect, the destructive power is greatly increased again. If the Spirit Art of Transcending Mortal could only push a stone or a room, then the spiritual power after the second qualitative change has the power to split the ground and shake the mountains.
But when the spiritual power change reaches the third level, that is, when the condensed spiritual power exceeds a hundred thousand points, it explodes with a terrifying power under the blessing of the divine soul, and the destructive power far exceeds the limit of the second stage.
The Spirit Art created by ninety thousand points of spiritual power and the combined Spirit Art created by the power of Fierce Realm, which is only ten thousand points more, differ by two or three times in power, and this is the power of the Fierce Realm’s joint Spirit Art.
The eleven green wood shadows are undoubtedly powerful, but in the face of the third change of Fierce Realm’s joint attack, they are simply not enough to resist!
After destroying the Qingmu Battle Body, the Rulai Golden Palm moved towards Mi Hu and the others with an unstoppable force, as eleven beams of green light erupted at almost the same time.
The experienced Martial Ancestors of the Mi Clan knew that at this point, reducing the power of Rulai is the most important thing. If they were hit by the combined attack of the Fierce Realm at the same time, even six top-level Martial Ancestors would be severely injured or killed.
Without any need for communication, the eleven of them split into two groups. Ten giant green pillars bombarded the two Rulai palms, while Mi Hu who had ordered the joint attack to prepare, condensed another Qingmu Battle Body and shielded everyone under it.
