Chapter 5: Sara’s Worries
Chapter 5: Sara's Worries
A look of bewilderment and worry surfaced on Sara's face. As a servant, she naturally heard some information regarding summoners.
She knew that their Innate Skill and Innate Beast would determine their future achievements and how strong they would be in the future.
And for Miguel to have nothing between the two, could this mean that her son has no future as a Summoner at all?
She began to overthink, and worry surfaced on her face. She looked at Miguel and stated with a sweet voice, "Miggy, it's alright to be a normal person. Let's just forget about you being a summoner, okay?"
"I'm afraid that you'll be in danger if you still become a summoner without an Innate Skill and Innate Beast. I'm already happy and proud that you've returned to normal."
Hearing her worried voice, a smile could only escape from Miguel's lips.
"Don't worry about it, mom. I know what to do; just support me in the back, alright?" Miguel reassured her with a smile.
Ever since he was young, Sara would always tell the fool Miguel his real origin and how he was not her son. However, she would also express that, if possible, she wanted to hear Miguel call her 'mom' or 'mother' one day.
Hearing it personally now, tears welled up in her eyes once more.
"Okay, I believe you, Miggy," she said, wiping away the tears that were dwelling in her eyes.
She patted her ragged clothes and told Miguel to sit and wait for the soup that she would serve.
Miguel complied as he looked at her back with a smile.
'How emotional. Perhaps this is what a real mother is,' he commented under his breath as he began to close the grimoire.
And as for the reason why Sara was not able to see that he has an Innate Skill, this was because he decided to hide it from her view.
His Innate Skill's ability allowed him to hide any information in his Grimoire. His Innate Skill's description was very confidential and contained his secrets. No one shall see it other than himself.
With a thought, the grimoire book disappeared from his line of sight. This was an ability that all grimoire summoners would be able to utilize. They can summon and unsummon their Grimoire book at will, as long as they have the Grimoire Summoning Energy for it.
Regarding the Grimoire Summoning Energ, Miguel was actually a little bit worried about it. It was because the cultivation technique that he created from his previous life has a strict requirement. One must not have an ounce of 'world-introduced' energy inside them before they can cultivate it.
And for him to be able to summon the Grimoire, this only meant that he now has Grimoire Summoning Energy on him, right?
He planned to confirm this later. For now, he will concentrate on eating first.
After a while, Sara finally served a bowl full of hot soup in front of him.
It had been a while since Miguel had tasted mortal food, and he looked forward to it as he began to scoop a spoonful of the soup from the bowl.
'Well, it's not the best, but it will do,' he commented deep inside as the soup traveled down his throat.
After he finished a bowl, Sara offered more, but Miguel declined it.
"Rest early, Miggy; I'll accompany you to the main house tomorrow," she said with a smile as she began walking back to the small kitchen a few steps away.
Seeing that, Miguel got curious about what she was doing.
"I'm preparing food for Jonas," she replied without looking back.
"Why?"
"What do you mean, why? Of course it's because he will be hungry when he comes home later," she replied.
"Why are you still enduring his treatment towards you? With the treatment he's been giving you, isn't it better to just leave him for good?" Miguel asked curiously.
Sara paused for a moment before shaking her head.
"We made a vow back then," she replied simply.
"Do you love him?" he asked.
Sara paused before turning around. She came in front of Miguel, held his hand, and said with a smile, "My Miggy has truly grown up; you even know about 'love' now."
She sighed and continued, "In truth, I don't know. Perhaps I still love him; perhaps I don't. It's very complicated."
"Jonas was originally not like this to me. He only became this way after he learned that I have been taking care of a newborn child after he returned from a long journey. He believed that you are my child from a different man, and he has been rough with his treatment towards me since then."
"I could not blame him, though. His reaction is very normal."
'No, it's not,' Miguel thought.
At first, it might have been. However, his treatment towards Sara only worsened after she explained and provided evidence that Miguel was an infant she found in the forest.
"Well, I have already gotten used to the treatment. I stopped caring a long time ago. However, despite that, I still can't bear to leave him behind. Don't worry about me, alright? Miggy, you're still young, so you won't understand this for now. Just go to your room and rest well for tomorrow, alright?" she said with a reassuring smile as she ruffled Miguel's hair.
"I see," Miguel replied simply.
'It must be her guilt that stopped her from leaving that terrible man,' he thought as he walked back towards his small room.
If that was the case, then she should not be affected too much by what he was about to do next.
Miguel closed the door to his room as he sat at the top of his bed. He has no plans on sleeping yet, as he had to confirm something first.
He closed his eyes and began to meditate. The cultivation technique he created flashed inside his mind as he began to sense the energy in his surroundings, just like he did earlier.
However, there was a different reaction this time.
He was not able to sense this world's energy earlier, but now Miguel found it almost in an instant the moment he entered a deep meditation.
What surprised him, though, was that instead of the energy being present around him, the unique energy he sensed was actually inside of him.
No, to be more precise, it was inside the grimoire that was mysteriously floating inside his body.
