I Bit Everyone and Became the Strongest Zombie Cultivator

Chapter 80: Detection Skill

Chapter 80: Detection Skill

It didn't take long before we finally reach the outskirts of Ziyou Shelter. Unlike the Red Sea Shelter who already looked formidable from afar, Ziyou Shelter is like a long blade of grass in the middle of the field, waiting for the weakest of the breeze to blow it away. Because of its rusty walls and corroded barb wires as its initial defenses, the Ziyou Shelter felt like it was on the brink of falling down.

But apparently, the norm doesn't apply to a shelter such as the Ziyou shelter. After all, for the past five years, the surrounding area never suffered a rabid human attack. Even the barbed wires were clearly untouched since there were no marks of blood or taint on them. The reason why they were rusty was that they weren't used for a long time.

The five of us cautiously approached the place, trying to scout and gauge the status of the shelter before we proceeded with the plan.

Ziyou Shelter was significantly smaller than Red Sea Shelter as mentioned before, but the peace that it experienced for the past four years proves that one doesn't need a large shelter to defend against the hordes...

One just needs a cheat, such as the forsaken tree.

"Are you sure about this, Luo Zehn? What if this shelter is really peaceful? What if the forsaken tree is just a sacred tree and there are no children underneath it?" Liu Zhi asked.

"Then we'll withdraw. It's as simple as that. But if what Yang Chen said is true, and they're really slowly killing children by letting that tree absorb their qi energy, then what they've done is unforgivable and they should be brought to justice." Luo Zehn clenched his fists. "It looks like there are no watchmen outside. We'll sneak by climbing the walls. As for the three of you, you'll enter through the entrance."

Liu Zhi and the others nodded.

After rechecking their backpacks, or rather, check if something would incriminate them or make them suspicious if some guards went through it, Liu Zhi's party headed towards the entrance of the Shelter.

"Remember, Rush Hour is happening by tomorrow. We can't afford to be caught up in it. At most, we'd have to stay inside Ziyou Shelter for the meantime. We can't afford to provoke the major powers there, especially the shelter leader. If what Yang Chen said is correct, then he's the most dangerous of them all." Luo Zehn warned.

Liu Zhi and Blade nodded. As for Wu Yan, she came up to me and gave me another heartwarming embrace. Her eyes were reddening and there were tears on the lower part of her eyes.

And although she wasn't saying anything, I could totally feel what she was trying to tell me be careful, don't make me worry too much or somewhere along those lines. Honestly, I could feel that my heart was already pounding like mad and I'm not even kidding. As a rabid human who regained his consciousness, I really could feel my heart.

Before she let go of her embrace, I reciprocated her hug and I was the one to tell her what she wanted to say. This woman, why is she making me a soft-hearted person now?! I'm the esteemed Sect Master of the Tang Sect, the sole person who once stood in the pinnacle of cultivation. And yet, I'm being overwhelmed by a woman.

"You too, be careful out there. If you find yourself in trouble, just call out for me." Who would've thought I'd say something as cheesy as that in my lifetime. AAARGH!

"Mou~ I'm stronger than you, you know." She said, wiping off a stray tear that streamed down her cheeks. Even with her crying face, Wu Yan's prepossessing features were as impeccable as pure jade.

"Who knows, I may be stronger than you know." I half-joked.

From afar, Luo Zehn and I watched Liu Zhi's party as they were let inside by two guards who were at the entrance to the shelter. Wu Yan stole another glance towards our direction before the three of them finally went in.

On a signal, or rather, a nod, Luo Zehn and I ran towards the backside of the wall that covered the entire Ziyou Shelter. Once we arrived there, I realized something of grave importance.

Our clothes are a dead giveaway!

Luo Zehn was about to scale the walls when I decidedly grabbed him by his right leg. "Wait,"

Without further ado, I immediately accessed the System Store and bought some brown jacket with a hood. They resembled those commoner's wear often seen in shows wherein people infiltrate a place with that as a disguise. It may sound cliche but I know that it would work. Also, I warned Luo Zehn to change into less conspicuous clothes since his clothes were that of a renowned hunter a black robe.

"Are you sure this will work, Yongrui?" Luo Zehn confirmed as he tugged on his clothing.

"Yes, now we'll be safe from the watchful eyes of the inhabitants there," I responded.

Since I was already in the Immortal Realm, which was a realm higher than Luo Zehn since he's still in the King Realm, I managed to keep up with him when we scaled the walls of Ziyou Shelter. Once we got inside, we were greeted by a dark alley with a dead end. Of course, there was a huge fall before we got here but fortunately, no one saw us falling from the wall. If there were then I'd have detected them.

As soon as we arrived, I released a faint trace of my Qi energy and spread it in the entire Ziyou Shelter. Since it was too evenly spread out, I was certain that no one would be able to detect it. I did this just so I could locate Liu Zhi's party as quick as I could so I won't have any problems meeting up with them when the time comes.

It was just one of the techniques I've learned in the past and now, I could finally use it again because I'm back at the Immortal Realm.
