Chapter 46. The Law Of Death Flag Is Effective In Every World

After checking his personal panel, Ren Qingquan nodded in satisfaction. I am not sure what makes him satisfied when the amount of energy we are holding is decreasing.

Still in a cross-legged position, I heard Ren Qingquan’s thoughts to continue his meditation to change his vital energy and spirit into one generated by Immortal Body Tempering. From reading his mind, I found out he actually put some thought into this. His idea is to first change the cultivation method, then push his cultivation to the limit he can achieve by purchasing refined spirit qi. He also thought of leaving some points in case of emergency.

Hearing his idea, I nodded my nonexistent head. Well, fair enough. Having a higher cultivation realm will definitely help his journey to experiment with [Devour]. At least he doesn’t forget about it.

And so, Ren Qingquan started to meditate in lotus position and slowly change the characteristic Body Tempering Technique left on his body into the characteristic generated from cultivating Immortal Body Tempering.

Luckily, he hasn’t refined a lot of spirit qi, which makes the amount of time he needs to change the cultivation method’s characteristics to be quite short.

During this entire week, I spent most of my time focusing on other things anchored to me. Those stones in Martial Art World are still busy devouring sea water like usual, which makes me relieved. Next, Azure Emperor is still stuck in that dark place with occasional light. As for the others, whether it is those elders, the others from the Martial arts world, or the random cultivator Ren Qingquan granted with the sub system, most of them are busy cultivating or doing daily chores.

The majority of my attention is directed towards two things. One part is on Jin Fushen who often does some sect chores. From teaching newcomers, feeding spirit beasts, patrolling the sect, nurturing spirit plants, and several other miscellaneous tasks I saw him trying everything.

And the other one is in that group Ren Qingquan focused on before. To be exact, the group consisted of four people preparing themselves to go into the wilderness to look for resources. The reason I focused my attention on them is because they are the only group granted with sub-systems that went outside the sect, and also my primary source of information about the world outside Pure Wave Sect.

On the second day after Ren Qingquan began changing his cultivation technique, from the situation ten meters around them which is filled with tall trees and thigh bushes. I concluded that those people finally arrived in a forest area.

After traveling for three days within that forest without collecting many resources, the group seems to be dissatisfied and one of them suggested the group enter a deeper part of the forest.

“This area has been thoroughly cleaned by the disciple before us. If we want to gain any results, I suggest we enter a slightly deeper area. Although we might meet some spirit beasts, the chance for us to find a better resource will also increase.”

Hearing his words, the other three have a concerned expression. One of them even disagrees with that idea. “I don’t think that is a good idea! If we accidentally meet a spirit beast at the Foundation Building stage, we are done for!”

Hearing that refusal, the first guy tried to persuade him. “Sigh, brother Liang, don’t be such a coward. According to the map we bought. Even if we walk for one week in a straight line, we still wouldn’t reach the location where Foundation Building beasts gather.”

Ignoring that guy’s persuasion, brother Liang still shook his head. “I still don’t agree. It is better to do it in a safe way, even if it means spending a longer time. I still need to return to the sect so I can propose to senior sister Hua!”

After his word, except for brother Liang who disagreed. Two other people nod their heads and one chooses to abstain.

The first guy to suggest it smiled and spoke. “According to the vote, let’s enter a deeper area to look for better resources.”

Although that brother Liang had a dissatisfied look, he still followed the group and entered a deeper area.

“Everyone disperses and run far away from each other!” With this word as the lead, the four of them dispersed and ran in opposite directions.

What a pity, everything is too late as that wolf is much faster compared to them because of the difference in cultivation stage. In a mere seconds, I lost contact with all four subsystems as all of them got killed by a slash from that wolf.

Seeing how that giant silver wolf is actually nearby, and it still has hatred against humans. Guess I need to advise Ren Qingquan against entering a forest in the near future.

Once again, he decided to reward himself with a two hour rest while waiting for the system shop to be updated. While waiting, he opened the system library and read the novels stored inside. Although he either has already read the novel stored inside, or the novel title doesn’t interest him. Ren Qingquan still decided to read them as there is no other easy to access entertainment in this world.

‘Well, guess I need to look for more novels after doing experiments on [Devour]’ with that idea, he selected a random book and read it.

While Ren Qingquan is waiting for the system shop to be refreshed, I am busy scanning the absorbed spirit qi within his dantian and refined spirit qi which is already marked with the characteristic from Immortal Body Tempering.

Because Immortal Body Tempering is an intricate cultivation method which contains many characteristics, I need to spend some time to scan things thoroughly. I don’t want the item I sold to have some defect or require a crazy high price to create.

After two hours of scanning and calculating, there are still some things lacking before I can fully understand the absorbed spirit qi. As for the refined spirit qi, I still haven’t begun to learn it.

When it is time for the system shop to refresh. I still haven’t finished understanding the spirit I absorbed using Immortal Body Tempering. And so I can only make do by selling some trash.

When Ren Qingquan opened the recently refreshed system shop, he didn’t see refined spirit qi being sold in the system shop.

‘System, why don’t the daily system shops sell refined spirit qi today?’

If I told him the reason I didn’t add it is that I still haven’t fully understood the refined spirit qi and couldn’t suppress the cost required to create it. It is essentially equivalent to me revealing the fact that I can control which item is sold in the system shop. So, to answer his question, I just spew some nonsense.

Hearing my answer, Ren Qingquan replied. ‘I thought you could influence what item is sold in the daily system shop every day.’

Well, he indeed hit the bull’s-eye there. But if I told him that and allowed Ren Qingquan to create anything he wanted. I am afraid he will use it to create some useless thing which will be a waste of energy.

Don’t think I am just over thinking. All this while, I often overhear Ren Qingquan hoping for some stupid thing to be sold in a system shop.

I could still accept something like a soft pillow, soap, and toilet. Looking at Ren Qingquan lazing around instead of cultivating or doing other productive things, I sighed.

Is it just how Ren Qingquan always is or should I push the blame to the side effect of Immortal Body Tempering that makes its user turn lazier?

Within a moment, the sun sets and rises once again and one whole day passes. And in one hour, the system shop’s daily shop will refresh.

After burning the midnight oil and activating [Calculate] for more than 24 hours straight, I finally fully understood the spirit qi absorbed and refined using the Immortal Body Method.

In case you are confused about the difference between absorbed spirit qi and refined spirit qi. Absorbed spirit qi is akin to MP in game. Meanwhile refined spirit qi are EXP. by spending MP to activate a cultivation method, one will gain EXP used to level up. Wait a minute, damn it. My talking with illusory audience illness relapsed once again.

Anyway, I am already capable of creating spirit qi absorbed and refined using Immortal Body Tempering with the least amount of energy. So, I immediately wrote it in the daily system shop.

After I finished writing it, Ren Qingquan came just in time to open the newly refreshed system shop.

‘Yes’ Once Ren Qingquan agreed, I decreased the amount of points he had by 2998 points. But, I only sent the refined spirit qi and a trace of absorbed spirit qi to him.

I do that because after reading those cultivation methods, I realized cultivators at qi refining can only hold 1 strand of absorbed spirit qi inside their dantian.
