Chapter 605: Allen’s politics (1)
Chapter 605: Allen's politics (1)
Katakuchi seemed a bit surprised by Allen's reaction.
"Allen, is something wrong?"
"Hey, Allen! Don't be rude."
Allen shook Allen awake, who had frozen with shock.
"Huh? Ah, 120000, right? Thank you for gathering so many of them."
(That's nowhere near enough for what I need.)
Allen wanted to raise Generation to Skill Level 9.
Kurena was training in the Divine Arena to become a Divine Knight.
Merle and a few others were in the Earth Labyrinth, searching for the Dragon God Magra.
Shea was desperately trying to catch up to the Beast God Giran.
Rosalina, Kiel, and Peromus were all training in their own way too.
Everyone was working hard to overcome the trials given to them by Gods.
Allen also had a goal himself, he wanted to raise his Skill Level to 9, and for that he needed 100000000 Spirit Stones.
"Alright then, I'll go announce your arrival to Lord Somei."
"Ah, I appreciate that. Could you also tell him there's something I want to talk about?"
Allen felt like he had to be a bit more direct with his expectations.
"Of course!"
Katakuchi left the room then.
(I'll have to give him a bit of a stern talking to.)
The Bird A summon had not reached the Mythical Bird Rame yet, so they had time before having to return, which Allen would use to go off on Somei about the Spirit Stones.
Allen turned to look at Cecile.
"What!"
Cecile's face went red as she turned away, feeling Allen's sudden attention.
"I need 100000000 Spirit Stones after all."
"So what?"
Cecile remained wary.
"Is that to raise your Skill Level, Master Allen?"
"Yes, Sophie."
(Now I'm speedrunning for others too, I guess I grew too.)
Allen had come to this world to speedrun, thinking only of how strong he would become.
Now he was also excited about his friends getting stronger, which brought a smile to his face.
(These Spirit Stones should give me Skill Level 6. I've fixed my issues with getting Spiritual Power with a ring, but I don't get nearly enough Spirit Stones yet.)
Allen needed Garm's tail and Nestiad's heart for Cecile's fetch quest.
Obtaining both would likely require going through a harsh fight.
At least he had obtained Luvanka as his Beast S summon, so that should help.
But he still wanted to increase the Skill Level of Generation to unlock more S Rank summons, for Cecile's sake too.
"I don't think hunting 100000000 ghosts is realistic though."
"Well, it seems like each drops around 3 Spirit Stones, so it'll just be around thirty million."
"That doesn't make it any better…"
Cecile did not sound any less shocked, but then they heard footsteps approaching.
"Ohh you're back, Allen. Please listen to me!!"
The door was opened vigorously and the patriarch Somei entered the room.
He was quite old, but Allen felt like he was still full of energy.
"What happened? You look really excited."
"Well what do you think? The patriarchs Tokugara and Nonfura are marching here tomorrow!!"
Somei told Allen the situation, which arose from Allen's plan to have Somei leading all clans.
"Tokugara and Nonfura? Those are the patriarchs of the clans closest to the kingdom, right?"
They had already been suspected of being the clans who would resist their union the most.
"Yes. They're coming to Boaso with all their wardens tomorrow!!"
(I see, so they're finally seeing us as a threat, and they won't just surrender to us.)
Allen quickly understood the situation from hearing those two names.
The dragonkin in the divine realm were split into 9 clans, and some had stronger ties to the kingdom than others, and those were also given better treatment by the king.
The two clans who were treated the best by the king were opposed to the unification of the clans under Somei, which Allen had planned.
"I see. I guess they believed they were the strongest clans and aren't happy with us."
"It seems so. They hate the idea of unifying so much they're willing to fight us."
"But unifying was supposed to also be a way to resist the tyrannical rule of the king…"
This world was not the kindest.
"I know, but still…"
"At least I'm glad we share a common objective, Somei. Call Abigayle so he can be here tomorrow, and tell him to be ready."
"I'll do so."
Abigayle was fighting ghosts, but he would be called back to the mansion for whatever happened tomorrow.
***
The next day, the 2 patriarchs with their warden leaders arrived at Somei's mansion.
"Over here, please."
"Hmph, what's this big mansion for?"
"I appreciate the compliment."
The patriarch Tokugara spoke with a snobbish tone, trying to intimidate their guide Katakuchi.
Four people entered a waiting room and were sat in a line in front of a table.
"Oh, I thought he'd be waiting for us at the very least, but he's not here. He's really got some nerve to make us wait."
A Bird G summon watched them from the decorative plants in a corner of the room.
The summon looked like a parrot, and examined the 2 patriarchs and their warden leaders so Allen could decide what to do.
Tokugara's warden leader wore hihiirokane armor, and Nonfura's mithril armor. Both of them had muscular bodies, and their weapons hung on their backs, ready to be used if needed.
(Hmm, I see. I guess they really don't like Somei after all.)
"How does it look there?"
Cecile asked Allen, as they sat in a different room, which was next to the waiting room. In there, Allen, Cecile, Sophie, Somei, and Abigayle were preparing for the meeting.
"They seem pretty fed up."
"Are you sure?! I should go calm them down then!!"
"Hmm…"
Somei looked nervous, as he was never good at handling conflict. Abigayle stood next to him in silence. It was clear that both were not used to dealing with politics.
(They're the clan farthest away from the capital Rabul, I guess they never imagined being in this situation.)
They were the clan with the worst image for the rest.
"Don't be so nervous. Even if we end up fighting, they can't beat us."
Somei already had 7 clans under his command, so they had the upper hand.
Soon Katakuchi entered the room.
"They have arrived and are waiting for you now…"
While Somei remained restless and Abigayle was frozen in place, Allen stood up.
Allen and Ciel would go meet them first.
They opened the door and entered the room, where the 4 quickly turned to look at Allen.
"Thank you for traveling this far to meet us. Lord Somei will be here shortly."
Allen bowed in reverence, greeting the 2 patriarchs and their warden leaders.
Cecile followed Allen's lead.
"Oh, you must be Allen. So you're the one trying to sow unrest amongst us dragonkin."
"Please don't be ridiculous. After seeing how the divine people treat dragonkin I simply couldn't stand watching! You would've done the same!!"
Allen formed a fist and held it next to his chest as he raised the tone of his voice.
"Pff, I don't know about that."
The patriarch Tokugara grinned, while Nonfura seemed entertained.
Cecile had to try her hardest to not have an emotional outburst.
(Oh, so they actually seem to have a plan on their side as well.)
Allen's Intelligence focused on analyzing their reactions.
"I'll go bring the two then."
"Do that and stop keeping us waiting here. Even the tea is already cold."
Tokugara kept complaining, demanding that they bring out hot tea again.
So far it was Tokugara doing all the talking, while the other 3 just watched silently.
Cecile then left to bring Abigayle to the room.
*Thump thump*
"Wha-?!"
As the big Abigayle walked, the floor shook, as if the stone foundations of the mansion were not fixed onto the clouds below.
Abigayle was covered in orichalcum armor that had a golden shine.
He also carried a huge mace the size of his body, also made of orichalcum.
There were easily hundreds of kilos of orichalcum on Abigayle.
Seeing that, the 2 warden leaders got so nervous that they stood up and tried to reach for their weapons.
(Heheh, they're shaking. And this is why we're wearing equipment of lower ranks.)
Allen, Cecile, and Sophie were wearing equipment of lower ranks so that Somei and Abigayle could stand out more.
"Cecile, go bring the Supreme Chief Somei as well."
"Yes."
Just like they had rehearsed the night before, Cecile went to bring Somei from the other room.
The four twitched with annoyance when Allen called Somei the Supreme Chief.
After some wait, the door opened again and Somei entered, escorted by Sophie.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry for being late."
Somei entered the room, wearing really flashy clothes.
The merman Magic Artisan Kasagoma had made those clothes.
Kasagoma had gained a Divine Technique from the Gates of Trials, making him even more skilled at his craft, and all mermen had a strong sense of fashion anyway.
Seeing those refined clothes left the two warden leaders speechless, dazzling them and making them forget about their weapons.
The 2 patriarchs also gasped for a moment, but quickly pulled themselves together.
And so began the meeting to decide the future of all dragonkin clans.
"
