Chapter 467: Starting Lineup Debut VI

{Oh my God!}

{I’ve not seen that one before, but it’s effective! The ball is in the back of the net!} The commentator was in shock at what he had just watched Jason do and so was the crowd.

In fact the crowd was even more flabbergasted but, Jason didn’t care about their thoughts at that moment as he had just scored another goal and only wanted to celebrate in that moment.

Quickly running over to the sidelines, Jason did a little shadowboxing before falling on his back like he had been K.Oed.

{That ball should be filing charges of physical abuse against the young players. Just look at how he hit it!} The commentator shouted in excitement while the crowd was going wild at the goal.

{What a spectacle of a goal, and with it, he’s sent the opponents even further behind!}

{Surely now, there’s no way back!}

The SPAL players didn’t need the commentator’s words to know that the game was already over for them.

Despite having more than thirty minutes left in the game, there was almost no hope radiating from any of the SPAL players.

How could there be?

Scoring four against a team like Uventus could only happen on special days when they were in exceptionally terrible form, but it was clear that this Uventus was in anything but bad form and would likely even add to their tally instead of conceding as many as four goals.

However, that didn’t mean they would give up on trying.

Doing that much was their job, whether they had hope or not.

They weren’t being paid a salary for nothing after all.

#72nd minute…

Jason walked over to the sidelines, clapping his hands as he walked over.

Despite his performance in the game so far and the chance of him scoring a hat-trick, the manager had decided to take him off and Jason found his jersey number in red on the board.

Jason had his own opinions on being taken off and would have preferred to stay on to try and complete the hat-trick, but there was nothing he could say if the manager wanted him off.

It was already good enough that he had started the game and played well till now, but he was already quite tired, though he wouldn’t admit it.

Dapping Chiesa and sharing a half-hug, Jason stepped off the field and waved at the fans before heading to his seat.

Pirlo patted him on the back and said,

“You did good, get some rest,”

Jason nodded affirmatively, happy at the managers words as they boded well for his future in the team’s lineup.

Receiving a few commending comments from his teammates, Jason sat on the bench to watch the rest of the game.

#77th minute…

The Uventus team hadn’t given up on adding to their tally and they were currently on a counter attack, racing towards the SPAL half of the field.

The SPAL defenders quickly raced to intercept them, blocking the middle of the field so the ball was soon thrown over to the right flank where Kulusevski was.

Catching the ball a few meters from the edge of the box, Kulusevski didn’t need any extra stimulus to rush into the penalty box.

A SPAL defender gave chase and jumped into the Uventus man’s path as he tried to shoot, but as the SPAL defender flew into a tackle, Kulusevski cut back, escaping the tackle and cutting further inside, evading yet another SPAL defender before firing home.

The ball flew powerfully at the top right corner and the goalkeeper couldn’t match it in ferocity, only able to watch it fly past his outstretched hands.

{And they pile on the misery!!!}

{5 nil! This is an absolute trashing!}

The commentator’s excited shouts reverberated in the Allianz Arena as the Uventus players and their fans celebrated another goal in the game.

At this point, the SPAL players didn’t react much, they just wanted the match to be over already as no matter their efforts, they were thwarted and punished for even trying.

“Fuck!” One of the SPAL players cursed under his breath as he headed back to his position for the kickoff for the umpteenth time in the game.

He didn’t like what was happening, but his efforts to change the status quo was like a fly trying to shake the wall of China.

Nothing was moving.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have a choice but to keep wasting energy pushing until the final whistle, hoping for a consolation goal.

#90+3…

The match was already at its final moments as the four added minutes were about to run out, but at the moment, the match was still going on.

The referee had already put the whistle to his mouth, ready to blow once the Uventus attack came to an end, however, the Uventus team had different plans in mind.

They didn’t want to end the match without hearing the loud outburst of the fans one more time and a cross soon flew into the penalty box, just awaiting the perfect touch.

Chiesa was the one who did exactly that, fighting off his marker and diving at the ball, head first, he caught it off his head and sent it past the goalkeeper for the last time in the game.

{Goal! Uventus!}

{We thought it was over! How many more do they want!?}

{They have presented their opponents with one last gift but it’s not the gift they wanted!} The commentator shouted as Chiesa ran down the sidelines celebrating while his teammates chased after him in excited frenzy.

The SPAL players couldn’t even be bothered to hurry up the Uventus players celebrration.

The match was already over anyway and the referee’s whistle went off as soon as the ball was kicked off again.

{It is over!}

{Uventus advance to the semi-finals and they have done it spectacularly}

{6 unresponded goals!}

{They swept through their opponents and didn’t even present them with a fighting chance!}

{It was glorious and the Uventus fans are pleased and will be even more pleased if their team can keep up this good form going forward}
