Chapter 151: Chronicles of Lockdown VIII

Chapter 151: Chronicles of Lockdown VIII

The room went silent for a few seconds after Jason’s words and even the comments stopped for a split second.

“You didn’t tell me about that…” Mylo finally said after a few seconds of pause.

“I didn’t think you needed to know,” Jason immediately replied, the wry but cold smile on his face seemingly frozen in place.

“… That’s fair, but I’m a little hurt that you didn’t tell me,” Mylo answered after a pause.

“Don’t be, we’re not that close,” Jason fired back.

“Okay let’s move on,” Jason immediately moved to change the topic as talking about his family wasn’t something he wanted to do with Mylo or any of the viewers.

Ignoring the comments that contained condolences and all sorts of depressing-sounding messages, Jason quickly started speaking as if he didn’t see any of the comments on the screen.

“Anyway, It’s Mylo’s turn now, right… so, Mylo, Truth or Dare?” Jason asked Mylo.

“Uhhh… Dare,” Mylo replied after a slight pause to think.

“Oh, okay, let’s see what the viewers have planned out for your demise,’ Jason said with a smirk, immediately deciding to pick something that should hurt.

Hopefully, there were some diabolical viewers who didn’t mind Mylo getting hurt a bit, Jason hoped, but when he started reading the comments, he realized that some of the dares were a bit too much.

“What the hell?” Jason laughed out, stunned by some of the comments he was seeing.

More than half of the dares were indecent and a couple of them even had Jason in it… Of course, Jason easily skipped over all the indecent ones, not because he wouldn’t like it if Mylo made a fool of himself on the internet, but rather because he didn’t want to dirty his own eyes.

He had to at least pardon his eyes from seeing the horror of Mylo dancing to a nursery rhyme in his underwear… which was one of the less indecent requests from the viewers.

“Can’t you guys make a dare that is a little less… intense, you’re going to kill my eyes if Mylo has to do any of these,” Jason had to speak up at one point because the dares he was seeing were becoming increasingly ‘glamorous’.

The viewers, of course, didn’t listen as they were here for fun, and what greater fun was there than having somebody to laugh at… or at least that’s how they thought.

Luckily, there were still a few less intense viewers who sent a couple of milder dares and Jason didn’t hesitate to pick those ones out.

“Well, Mylo, I’m kinda stuck in between making you do a hundred push-ups at a go as AuntieMaya requested, or making you have a three-minute martial exchange with me which is a request from angiestewart,” Jason selected two of the mildest choices… though the second choice was a bit more due to personal bias.

Jason had been looking for an opportunity to beat up Mylo, or as some of his countrymen would say, ‘To wear him better 500’, but Jason couldn’t be obvious about it as there were obviously a lot of issues that could arise from beating up his roommate.

The media would have a field day if Jason made such a move and he would probably never hear the end of it.

Even without doing anything, they were already trying to trip him up at interviews, so he could just imagine what they would do if they got a wind of Jason ever beating up Mylo with or without reason.

This game of truth or dare would invalidate that and Jason would have a perfect excuse to beat up Mylo.

His expertise with martial arts would also help him to reduce the visual effects of the fight and he could make Mylo feel pain while making others downplay the fight as something not hurtful.

Unfortunately for Jason, he still couldn’t be so obvious with something like pulling Mylo into a fight with him, or the media would have something to grab on to and Jason would see “Talented young football star beats up his roommate under the guise of a truth or dare game” as an headline the next day.

That was the actual point, but Jason didn’t need the media to know that, especially now when they were on lockdown and were obviously starving for stories and had all the time in the world to construct bullshit in the name of news.

In the end, Jason could only give Mylo a choice and hope that he was stupid enough to pick the option to have a fight with Jason over doing a hundred push-ups.

“You make a choice… or you can pick both and have your dumbbell holding exercise waived off,” Jason threw a bait as he knew that there was a very high chance that Mylo would pick the hundred push-ups choice over a fight with Mylo.

Mylo was already about to pick the hundred push-ups option when he heard the first half of Jason’s sentence, but hearing the second part of Jason’s sentence, he paused before he opened his mouth and began to think about it.

An opportunity to get rid of the three-hour traini… punishment was definitely a tempting opportunity for him as his hand was already feeling sore and he had not even held it up for ten minutes yet.

All he would have to do was to survive against Jason for three minutes, which was definitely possible, and even if it was a bit too much for him to survive in a fight against Jason, dodging and running away for three minutes was definitely possible.

It would be difficult, but it was definitely possible, right?

As Mylo was deliberating on whether to play it safe or to go all in, the viewers didn’t stop commenting,

{What a boring choice of dares… but a fight does sound interesting} TrevorJackson commented.

{How interesting can a fight between two footballers be? Not like they’re going to be dribbling around themselves} NecroPina commented.

{If it’s about dribbling themselves, Jason would obviously win} DarleneThomson11 replied to NecroPina’s comment.

{Time to see if all that stuff Mylo said about Jason’s fighting skills checks out} Alexander_Johanson78 commented as well.

“Okay… I’ve decided… I’m going to do…”
