Chapter 387 Cleaning Up
Shane was actually quite surprised that this Clan Leader was able to endure his eighth punch… However, he confirmed from Cloud that this person had a Talisman that was used up to defend against his punch.
Indeed, Gerald had several talismans on his belt a while ago, and every time he should get critically injured, a Talisman paper would vanish, and he would remain in perfect condition. It was incredibly magical, and he probably bought it in the Reputation Store or even in the Market Bazaar due to its rarity.
'It's not only the blade but also this talisman… This guy is rich…' Shane thought for a brief moment since he believed that the man's blade a while ago was an Epic Grade item.
However, this blade was thrown away a while ago during their battle, and Shane had to fight against the invisible arm, which felt a lot more difficult to deal with.
Boom!
Shane's ninth punch cut through all the man's possible defenses and finally struck his chest cleanly.
Ooomphh!
Gerald coughed out a mouthful of blood as his internal organs were shaken from that strike.
He then staggered back, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. His invisible third arm was just destroyed by that punch! Furthermore, he had Epic-Grade silk armor on his body that should have stopped Epic-Grade weapons from hurting him!
Gerald wanted to summon his Invisible Third Hand once again since it only cost 100 Spirit Points to cast one, but he realized that he already used up most of his Spirit Points from the activation of the Talismans he had.
'I'm dead…' Gerald thought as he looked at the Zombified Survivor.
"You… you're not just a Zombie… I know you're a Survivor… Spare… me…" Gerald whispered while his voice was fading.
However, Shane didn't plan to spare this person at all.
"No, I'm not," He replied with his Zombie-like voice…
This answer obviously had a different impact since there was no way a Zombie would reply like that… Gerald's eyes widened after hearing it, and it seemed to have triggered his emotion.
This bastard is indeed a Survivor!
He wanted to say something more, but he soon collapsed to the ground, his life was slowly fading away.
However, Shane didn't immediately leave as he still didn't get the notification from the system that he had killed a Survivor!
It means that this person was just acting! He was still alive…n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Shane then pulled his Golden Desert Eagle as he wanted to finish off this person.
However, he suddenly felt something off as his Danger Sense or perhaps his Heightened Awareness realized some danger…
Without hesitation, Shane quickly jumped away…
As soon as he did this, an explosion followed!
Boom!
"You!" Shane was still caught by the blast and was thrown away! He crashed into a nearby building, and although he wasn't heavily injured with his Strength, Vitality, and Aura of Protection, he still felt dizzy from that explosion…
'Ugh… That surprised me…' Shane complained…
'What a pity… I'm interested in that Invisible Hand.' Shane thought to himself as he slowly stood up from the debris of the crashed building.
There was simply no way of him looting a corpse that had exploded into millions of pieces. Well, the Invisible Third Hand must not be fated with him, so he could only accept what had happened.
On the other hand, the group of people who had seen how Shane was thrown away, they immediately felt that it was an opportunity that they should not miss!
"The leader has sacrificed his life!"
"The Zombie must be shaken!"
"Kill him now! Don't let Sir Gerald's sacrifice be in vain!"
"Attack! Attack! Hurry!"
Shane shook his head after hearing their battle cries. There were only six of them remaining.
For him, the battle was already over…
'Good… Come at me.'
Shane smiled since he had to make sure that one could escape in this place. It was a good thing that they have decided to come at him instead of fleeing from all directions.
'I guess I looked heavily injured just now.' Shane thought to himself.
However, with the death of the Clan Leader, there was no one else who could stop him at this point. These remaining people do not have a chance of even injuring him.
After some time, Shane soon killed everyone else within the camp. There weren't any mishaps at all.
It was a lot easier compared to the elites and the Clan Leader since they also lost their morale mid-battle after realizing that he was still extremely strong…
None of their attacks reached him, and Shane decided to continue using his Golden Desert Eagle and started shooting at them.
He took a moment to catch his breath or inspect the surroundings to ensure that he didn't miss anyone.
His eyes then scanned the area and confirmed that only those female prisoners were alive in the camp.
Satisfied with his victory, Shane deactivated his Zombie Mask, and his body returned to its human form.
Then, after keeping his Zombie Mask inside his Inventory, he hurriedly made his way to the warehouse where the five women were being kept. Of course, he already finished looting the Survivors and obtained eight new Survivor Skills from them.
'I wonder what happened to these girls…' Shane thought to himself as he pushed open the door.
He had previously given the five women some clothes, food, and pistols to ensure their safety.
As he entered the dimly lit space, the women, startled by the sudden intrusion, raised their weapons defensively.
"It's me… Shane," he said quickly, raising his hands to show he meant no harm.
They immediately recognized his voice as they heaved a sigh of relief…
The women lowered their weapons, and a sense of cautious relief took over their tired bodies.
"It's you… Did you really—"
"Yes, I just killed everyone in this shelter. Do you have another place you can go?" Shane asked. It was as if killing everyone in the Mystic Mirage Shelter wasn't a big thing at all!
The five were unable to react immediately as they processed the whole thing. They actually heard the commotion outside and knew that the battle just now wasn't simple. There seemed to be other Zombies involved in the process!
They were worried that the reason Shane managed to win against the whole Clan was by destroying the shelter's walls and allowing the entry of numerous Zombies! This means that there could be a lot of zombies outside.
However, it wasn't important right now. The savior was in front of them, and they had to quickly answer.
The women exchanged glances before shaking their heads.
The woman with short black hair stepped forward, her expression weary as she explained what happened to them.
"We were previously from the Big Hero Clan… It's not a huge Clan, and it was previously ranked at 46 at its peak. However, everyone there has been killed by the members of the Mystic Mirage Clan except for the five of us. We have nowhere else to go."
Shane nodded, understanding their plight. He didn't consider it for a long time as he knew that he had to help them. He could tell that they deserved to be helped with what had happened to them under the mistreatment of the Mystic Mirage Clan.
"Alright… Let's get to know each other for now. I'll try my best to help you, but you have to be honest with me about your Talents gifted by the system and the Survivor Skills you have."
Shane said as he needed to know their abilities.
They introduced themselves one by one, sharing their names and abilities.
The woman with short black hair spoke first. "I'm Loreen. My Talent is Enhanced Reflexes. It's just a Rare one, and it allows me to react quickly to threats. I also have basic medical skills."
Next was a tall woman with auburn hair. "I'm Klara. My Talent is Rare-Grade Elemental Manipulation, specifically fire. I can control and generate flames. It could also use Water and Earth elements, but they consume a lot of Spirit Points, and I couldn't use them in combat because of how terrible they are. I only have 180 Points.
My main Survivor Skill is Advanced Combat Training."
A petite woman with glasses followed next. "I'm Laura. My Talent is Uncommon-Grade Telepathy. I can communicate mentally with others and sense their emotions. But as you can tell, it's weak. I can only use it to someone I can see within my 50 meters.
My Survivor Skill is Stealth and other movement techniques."
Shane gently nodded as he kept listening. This time, a woman with long blonde hair introduced herself...
"I'm Olivia. My Talent is Rare-Grade Healing Touch. I can heal wounds and illnesses with a touch, but not myself… It uses 60 Spirit Points each. I only have 190 Spirit Points at max, and I only have 16 Spirit Points at the moment. My Survivor Skills are related to Foraging and Herbalism."
