Chapter 116: One finger (b)
"Umm, since we are friends, can Elder Zachary show me how powerful you are?" Whittaker said indifferently.
Hearing his words, Elder Zachary crackled an indifferent smile but instantly concealed it, and his majestic aura soared.
"Oh well, since you are my student, I don't mind showing you what a B-rank peak expert can do." He said while moving his hand and extending it to the skies on the right. He continued by pointing his forefinger at the peak of a mountain draped in snow, "Do you see that mountain up there?"
"Yes, elder," Whittaker followed the direction of his finger and nodded his head. "Okay, continue to look at it!" The elder said.
At that moment, one of his hands underwent a surprising change, so shocking that even Whittaker was surprised and his attention focused on it. He has never seen anything like that before, after all, and he was extremely curious about it and excited at the same time for witnessing something new.
He was shocked to discover that Elder Zachary's five fingers extended into what seems like wires of liquid metal. And, these wires conjoined to form the opening of an inky, black cannon.
'Wow, is he a human being or a magic construct?' Whittaker thought, at the very moment, a system notification popped up in Whittaker's eye to clear his confusion.

In the past, technology wasn't a famous topic and barely anyone was interested in creating a magic construct; however, there was an evil geniuswith low-potential as an awakened, only D-rankedthat invested all his time in creating magic constructs but as death neared him, he went mad. He sacrificed a lot of lives in the name of eternal life and science while trying to create a method through which a person can combine with the deadly machines. He was titled as an evil genius because of what he did, killing thousands of humans, animals, other races to just create a method.
Although he was killed before even succeeding part ways, his works and research papers allowed people of the modern era to create never before seen magic construct. Most of the peoples were only interested in creating the evil genius magic construct but Elder Zachary and some others were different.
Elder Zachary chooses to dive deeper into evil genius researches and created a successful method to combine technology with the human body, hence creating a profession unique solely to him; However, eternal life wasn't a possibility but he had succeeded in becoming far powerful than his destined rank.
Gentle winds bellowed in their surrounding, signifying the start of a calamity whereas the cherry trees' pinkish leaves trembled in awe and fear.
Rustle!
Suddenly, with Elder Zachary as the center, all the leaves and trees around him suddenly started to age at a visible speed, even the grassy ground under his feet turned gray and yellow. The cherry petal dried up and vanished with the wind while the cherry trees in the surroundings seemed to have been kissed by death, and they wrinkled into thin papers.
More and more leaves and trees died releasing waves of death essence, and these waves of death essence drifted slowly towards Elder Zachary as they were controlled by his cyborg's hand. On the other hand, the grassy ground in the surroundings seemed to have been destroyed by something. Numerous cracking sounds echoed while the land started to drift apart, a line stretched from the middle of the room reaching Whittaker's feet, who stepped to the side, afraid that he will fall inside the ground that was slowly opening.
For a time, the entire scene in the surroundings was slightly dusky as death essence mixed with mana to create death force whose very appearance permeate into the bright and lit surrounding to darken it mysteriously.
Whittaker could smell the scent of the Death force and he could see it too; However, he couldn't feel it as if he was protected by something invisible.
Although he was still in the physical world, Nina has altered the reality to keep Whittaker in a separate boundary called the Spirit Boundary. Right now, due to the Spirit Boundary, all that was happening outside was ineffective to him otherwise, he would have shriveled into a dried corpse.
Buzz buzz! The Death Force started to converge at the center of the cannon. It was at this very moment that blinding sparks exploded in the area, visually cracking even space. Elder Zachary has used technology and magic to gain control over the death force, even though it wasn't permanent and harmful to even himself. The magical runes drawn all over his body lit up, protecting him from being self-harmed by the death force.
Several seconds after, a dark light converged like dark, inky water, expanding while rapidly spinning.
Buzz!
Blinding light flooded Whittaker's eyes, as a black beam shot out towards the snowy mountain whose peak reached the skies. The mountain draped in the snow has existed as a neighbor to Zachary's palace for a long, long time. Nothing bad has happened to it before but today, it was hit by vertigo force, something that shouldn't belong to this world!
"Bang!"
The death beam crashed upon the peak of the snow-draped mountain, instantly expanding into a whirlpool that swallowed the entire peak and sundered the cloudy, night skies in a pitch-black sea.
Half of the mountain body was blown away by the impact, crashing heavily on the ground, causing snow dust to rise on the ground. Whereas, the peak was forcefully pulled towards the whirlpool and got absorbed by it.
By the time the whirlpool in the sky dissipated, Whittaker saw no signs of the mountain peak ever existing. It was met with an ultimate-level demise, being annihilated out of existence, itself.
