Chapter 108: Divine Battle Bone (a)
The moment the countdown ended, an explosive force suddenly burst out instantly from above. All of it crashed on top of the snowy-haired boy standing on the ground
BANG!
Instantly, Whittaker was smashed onto the ground. All his muscles and joints crackled as he was mercilessly crushed. Sprawled on the ground, his body stretched out as a great pressure started to crush his spine and crack all of his bones; However, Whittaker looked at the bluish mana wall ahead of him with eyes sparkling with hope. Sadly, the mana pressure was too much, too forceful and even his mana-devouring hair couldn't keep up with the brutal assault.
Bursts of soul-tearing pain pulsed through Whittaker's head as the mana pressure tore apart his last line of defense and crashed on top of his head, squeezing his brain. His head felt heavy, crystal icy eyes blurred as dizziness and tears starting to kick in; Moreover, the pain only seemed to get worse and worse every second. With the passing of each moment, he was being hammered into the ground; his bone squishing into one another.
One by one, with the passage of every second, dozens of his bones cracked under the pressure producing crunchy noise.
The pressure felt like an icy cold needle and he could feel it piercing every microvessel, vessel, organs, and bones from the tip of his head to the end of his feet. It was that intense. Every bit of pain was clear for him as Whittaker's head was very clear as if he had put his head in icy cold water. Even at this moment, he retained enough rationality to feel all the pain.
'Cough!' Blood kept on spurting out of his mouth and he thought, 'I won't make it out alive!' Whittaker's eyes started to close, believing that eternal sleep will bring an end to this pain. He didn't even have the strength to shout. He desired relief no matter what form it came in, even if it was death. He even contemplated killing himself by biting on his tongue as it seemed far better than being crushed to death while feeling all the pain.
There didn't seem to be a hopeful, happy end in sight. On the other side, Elder Zachary stood up in order to save him at the very last moment.
However, before his eyes closed; before he could give up before Elder Zachary could make his move, a carefree voice resounded beside his ear.
"Young boy, you aren't allowed to die as you aren't living for just yourself. Furthermore, the time for you to awaken has come. Didn't you want to know why your parents abandoned you? Why they weren't there for you? Well, here you go!"
Lord Dark Spirit was residing in the pendant of night. He has been slumbering for the past few years. Lord Dark Spirit had spent 12 years slumbering in this pendant while absorbing every drop of mana that he could from the world. He has just recently awakened. However, he was met with satisfaction as the young boy was chosen as the inheritor of Night. Although he was disappointed at the other turn of events, he still followed the will of Night to hide deep secrets from the chosen inheritor. Right now, a shadowy light flickered out from the pendant of night and shot into Whittaker's head at a speed so fast that it went unnoticeable under the eyes of Elder Zachary, Nina, and even Master Zen.
The shadowy light drilled itself into Whittaker's head and reached a seal that has been sealing precious memories in his subconscious. The black light touched the intangible, not feel able and invisible seal, in the very moment, the seal that seemed almost nonexistent dissipated. Along with its dissipation, memories rushed out, just like water rushing out from an open dam. And, Whittaker remained unmoving as if he was struck to death by thunder; however, he was fighting off death while trying to summarize the rush of information exploding his brain.
"Before your birth, you were perceived to be a calamity for your family yet your mother still went ahead and gave birth to you, and the calamity descended. Three people, your mother, father, and elder brother sacrificed their lives to let you live. Young boy, your mother cherished you more than her life, your father went to the Heaven Fall Endless Cliff to get the Rebirth Fruit for you. Because of you, your elder brother is suffering in the mortal world! So how can you die?!! How can you even think of giving up?!!!" Lord Dark Spirit's voice was no longer carefree. Even he, the servant of Night, was moved by the sacrifices made to kept Whittaker alive. His desperate and anger-filled voice rang out, echoing like thunder in Whittaker's ears, arousing something hidden deep in Whittaker.
Memories that have been sealed inside of the depth of his brain rushed out, memories that were bound to be painful, memories of an event happening long ago, a distant past.
Whittaker entered a dazed state as memories poured out from the depth of his subconscious and he absorbed them while being crushed to death.
Tears glistened in his eyes as he remembered the face of his mother as he remembered the sword that pierced into her heart as he remembered her warm embrace as he remembered her last moments... as he remembered the glowy snowflakes decorating the dark and cold night, becoming one with the snowy grounds.
Before death, Grace has sealed Whittaker's memories as she knew that her son, WhittakerRather, Sin Clair was born with innate perfect memorization ability. An innate ability that allows a person to remember everything from the moment they are born. She didn't want her son to be consumed by hatred and thoughts of revenge.
"I remember mother and the black-masked assassins!" Whittaker said through gritted teeth and for the first time in his life, he felt anger at someone. Emotions started to run wild in him and he swore to not give up. His hands clutched into a fist tightly, tight enough for the nail to cut into the skin.
Before Elder Zachary could make a move, he saw Whittaker pushing himself against the ground, trying to stand up!
'I will not give up!'
At this moment, the youngling of the Divine Battle King Clan started to go against the grain!
