For everyone who liked this novel, they just released a manhwa of it!
This novel is really good! Absolutely loved reading it.
In original: 149 chaptersTranslated: 216 chaptersWHAT???
In some cases chapters will be split like 1.1 1.2 or chapter 10 part 1, part 2. It's the opposite of some novels packing multiple chapters into one
I want MOREEEEE KOREAN NOVELSMOREEEEEEEEEE
Another WW novel? Nice
what's "ww"?
Wuxiaworld. A good Tl website, unlike the evil webnovel is.
I've always heard that wn is scummy, but what exactly does wn do to deserve that?
Predatory pricing, bad translations. In the beginning there were tons of free translators who worked with donations. Like 5 years ago. Only a few websites like wuxiaworld existed, but they were all free then. None of these groups has explicit permission to tl to English, and Easter publishers didn’t care enough. Sometimes some publisher would dmca a novel translation and people would say rip and continue on. It was a peaceful time, then these f#cktards from China came, greedy f#cks saw the immense readership and started buying up right to Chinese novels. They are a Chinese conglomerate, so obviously Chinese pubs gave them the rights. Destroyed the entire ecosystem, majority of the translators had to stop because of dmca threats. It was horrible. Then these f#cks started charging for chapters, every year, it gets costlier and free tier gets smaller and smaller. It went so bad, Wuxiaworld also had to start contacting publishers for rights as they knew if they didn’t, they will lose their works. These assholes destroyed a volunteer system and made it a business, f#cking shits.God I get so angry. They also don’t give a shit about readers too. All they want is revenue. At first they used to ban r18 novels, then they saw the numbers, and realised why not. They will do anything to make a buck. One novel becomes a hit, 2 weeks later, you’ll see 10 garbage novels with the same concept and slight variations, with dogshit quality. I hate them down to my bones. Qidian can go suck my shit, GOD IM ANGRY NOW.
was everything negative? I'm not trying to debate to be clear, I'm just wondering if they are so bad then why do they still exist especially in an environment where pirating is so easy.
I don’t have the numbers so idk the reason they are around. Either they are getting enough revenue to stay afloat, or they are losing money and are staying on because it’s a billion $$$ company and they tend to do that. The only positive thing I can think about are the original novels that have come out so far. That’s all. We wouldn’t have seen them on royal road ( another good free old and running novels website, but only for original novels, amazing stuff on it, ranobes also has some of it) for sure if webnovel was not there. Webnovel gave the mainstream audience and a way for original authors to get revenue. That’s the only good that’s come from them. Everything else is shit. It’s like a pile of shit from a 200KG obese man with a Michelin star steak on it.
lol, maybe someday someone that's good with Chinese and has enough money can enter the market eventually and take market share from wn since most people seem to know they're dicks.
not going to happen. WN is made by qidian I believe and qidian has most if not all the rights to their chinese versions so its easy to get rights to translate and keep monopoly on them. In order to compete you would have to get the translation rights from them or do it illegally but that would mean either loosing money or just getting sued & DMCA'd to death. So thats that, oh and the last part was exactly what was happening with all these volunteer sites that were translating qidian novels. WN nowadays makes money by getting good enough quality translation for first 40 chapters that are teaser chapters/free, and then uses MTL for rest so people are hooked on the story and still pay tons of money to read until they cant understand MTL quality anymore.
true, I've read a LOT of reviews about only the first 40 chapters being translated properly and it is just bizarre!
