Chapter 12 - Lv.?? Dire Wind Wolf (Tier-2)
Among the Wolf Pack, 14 were 1.2 meters tall, and 2.5 meters long with a grey coloured fur.
One particular wolf that stood out with its chalk-white fur was 1.8 meters tall and 3 meters long.
It growled towards the other Wolves as if it commanded them. All the wolves started slowly moving towards me in all directions.
I immediately used <Inspect> on the Pack's Alpha, and similar to the last time, only its name was visible.
[Lv.?? Dire Wind Wolf (Tier-2)]
[Lv.6<Inspect> ➝ Lv.8<Inspect>]
Looking at the increase in Skill Level, I understood that it was similar to the Tier-2 Bloodthirsty Earth Bear that I came across previously.
When it looked at me, I felt some suppression that was not caused by my fear but from that of a higher tier being.
I snapped out of it and started thinking of ways to escape while using <Inspect> on the grey coloured wolves around me.
The lowest among them was Lv.8, while the highest was Lv.10 except the Dire Wind Wolf.
Since my <Inspect> Skill reached Lv.8, I was only able to look at the whole Status information of an Lv.8 Grey Wolf but not of any higher levelled Wolves.

Its Stats were higher than me except for the Spirit and Endurance Attributes.
I could imagine that all the wolves surrounding me must be with even higher Stats as most of them were Lv.9 and Lv.10 Grey Wolves.
So, even if I activate <Agility Boost> and run at full speed, the Grey Wolves could catch up to me, and an even bigger problem was the Dire Wind Wolf.
It didn't directly attack me as I was not strong enough prey for it to step in and let the Grey wolves take care of me.
During such a dangerous situation, a lot of thoughts exploded in my mind. Finally, I came up with an idea.
I bent my legs and activated <Hydraulic Leap> with enough power to reach the treetop in front of me and started to leap from tree to tree.
The Wolves were taken back by such a revelation but quickly started to chase after me on the ground. I crossed 300 meters, and they were still chasing me.
Some Grey Wolves even climbed the tree with their claws. Still, their manoeuvrability was very low upon the trees and returned to the ground.
Once the Dire Wind Wolf understood that they couldn't catch me, it started attacking me with some kind of transparent looking curvy blades, and wherever they landed, branches got sliced.
I used a zig-zag pattern to jump from tree to tree.
So, I could escape from its deadly attacks, but at that rate, I would get hit if I didn't speed up.
After a few seconds, the transparent wind blades were getting closer and closer to me.
I exerted one-third of my full capacity in the <Hydraulic Leap>, which was the max limit that I could manoeuvre without falling off or colliding with the trees.
My speed increased explosively and with that my Stamina expenditure also increased as I crossed 30 meters with every single leap.
What shocked me was that the Dire Wind Wolf could still keep up with my speed, and it started forming a ball of rapidly moving wind on the tip of its mouth while chasing me.
When I saw that, I changed my direction while keeping an eye on the Dire Wind Wolf.
Once I confirmed that it was about to shoot the attack in the right direction that I wanted, I took a steep turn and slowed down my movement.
A slight smirk appeared on my face as the attack missed me and hit the tree that I actually intended to receive damage.
Just as the attack damaged the tree, a loud enraged roar emerged, causing my ears to pain.
I looked towards the damaged tree with golden leaves and the exact tree that the Bloodthirsty Earth Bear was sleeping.
My idea all along was to bring them there and let them clash with the Tier-2 Bear, and it worked smoothly as it glared at the Dire Wind Wolf that damaged the tree it treasured.
The Bloodthirsty Earth Bear lifted its paw and hit the ground, the ground nearby shook, and earth spikes started emerging on the ground and headed towards the Dire Wind Wolf.
It dodged the attack, and a fight commenced between them, and the Bloodthirst Earth Bear formed an armour made of the earth around its body, and that helped it to defend from the attacks of Dire Wind Wolf.
With the Dire Wind Wolf being able to dodge its attacks, the Bloodthirst Earth Bear started making walls that were made of earth to restrict the movement of Dire Wind Wolf.
In just a few short seconds, the Bloodthirst Earth Bear had the upper hand in the fight, and then the remaining 14 Grey Wolves reached the location.
I didn't wait to find the result of the fight and started heading towards my tree hideout direction.
The Dire Wind Wolf noticed me escaping with its sharp senses and commanded some of the wolves during the fight itself to chase after me.
5 Grey Wolves separated from their pack and headed towards me, and I increased my leaping speed.
After 100 meters, I was left with less than one-fourth of my Stamina.
[Stamina: 22/100]
With the 5 Wolves chasing me, I couldn't be safe even after I reach the tree hideout and the rate at which my Stamina depleted causing me to rethink the course of my action.
Among the 5 Grey Wolves, one was Lv.10, and the other four were Lv.9. I took my Rusty Short Sword tied around my waist with boxing wraps.
I coated it with Lv.14<Sword Aura> that causes 140% additional damage.
I activated <Agility Boost-I>, and my Agility increased my 4 Stats. Maybe since they were temporary, I didn't feel high pain or perhaps because of my Lv.24<Physical Pain Resistance>.
My movement speed increased as the control of my muscles yet increased along with my fluid movements.
I leapt towards the Lv.10 wolf by exerting one-third of my <Hydraulic Leap> capacity.
Even though my Agility Attribute was lower than the wolves, my speed while leaping was non-negotiable.
The sudden leap towards their direction startled the wolves, but it was too late as the Rusted Short Sword pierced the top of Lv.10 Grey Wolf head, and it died on the spot.
[Lv.10 Grey Wolf Killed]
[250 Life Energy Obtained]
[Congratulations! You have reached Lv.5]
[5 Undistributed Stats are available.]
Leaping from tree to tree at such speed doesn't cause much damage because of my increased Endurance Attribute.
But when I used the leap to land directly on the ground in front of the wolf, the impact I felt on my body was high and caused some internal damage. Blood started trickling down from the side of my lips.
