“Big Sister, something bad happened this time. I’ll tell you about it when we get back ...” Suyan stuck out her tongue while her arms were around Suxue’s thin waist.

“Something bad?” Suxue furrowed her brows, then she looked past Suyan at Long Chen. Connecting it to what Suyan said, Suxue’s expression went through a hundred-and-eighty-degree change from concern towards Suyan to a bone-chilling look saved for a stranger. She looked at Long Chen coldly with an imposing glare.

She then asked in a cold voice, “Who are you? Why are you standing so close to my younger sister?”

Long Chen sensed very obvious enmity from Suxue. It was understandable as her younger sister really was a little gullible and seemed to be the exact kind who could be easily tricked and manipulated. That was why Suxue thought Long Chen had malicious intent.

“Big Sister, you’re mistaken. Big Brother is not a bad person. I ran into a little trouble, and he saved me,” Suyan hurriedly explained while hugging her sister.

“Are you kidding? He’s only at the Fifth Earthly Martial Stage; how could he have saved you? Yan’er, tell me what happened. Have you been tricked by him?” Su Xue looked at Long Chen cautiously with disgust in her eyes.

Long Chen did not know what made her hate him so much. Since she insisted on looking down on him, his gaze turned cold and he said, “What do you mean by that? Is this how the princess of the Demon clan treats her guests?”

The Nine Great Clans were actually the Nine Great Empires. Every clan leader was actually the leader of their empire. People like Feng Zhilin and Suxue were usually called princesses in their empires.

Suxue never expected Long Chen to be so rude to her, or even mock her using her own title, so she became furious. Long Chen was a mere Fifth Earthly Martial Stage cultivator, and yet he dared speak to her that way. She had never met a person like him before.

Long Chen smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t pin this on her. A gentleman does not dwell on another person’s shortcomings.”

“You!” Suxue turned around and glared at him furiously. She wanted to rage at him, but she saw how pitiful her younger sister looked. Then she suppressed her anger and said to Suyan, “Yan’er, come to my side and tell me what happened.”

“Alright.” Suyan nodded obediently and went to Suxue’s side. The people of the Demon and Thunder clans followed behind the three of them. They looked at the trio curiously because the two sisters were whispering, so no one knew what they were talking about.

“What?!” Suyan had only spoken for a little while when Suxue’s face changed. She gripped Suyan’s arm hard and almost yelled, but when she realized this matter had to be kept hushed, she suppressed her shock and asked anxiously, “Yan’er, are you being serious? One of them touched you gently, and you became like this? And you’d die in a day from old age?”

Suyan was also antsy when she saw how anxious Suxue was. She said hurriedly, “Yes. I hid in the cold lake and realized that my body stopped aging. “Big Brother, come meet my Father, alright?” Suyan knew how scary her father could be, so she wanted to hear Long Chen out.

Long Chen knew that he would need to meet the Demon clan leader, Bai Lan, sooner or later due to his reason for coming to Heavenly Wood City. Might as well get it over with sooner. That was why he had no comment. He nodded at Suyan and said, “It’s alright.”

His attitude towards the two sisters was completely different. He was cold towards Suxue but friendly to Suyan. This made Suxue embarrassed and angry, knowing that Long Chen was doing it on purpose.

Long Chen followed them up the gigantic tree trunk and wove through the tree branches and leaves. The city was like a bird’s nest on a tree, and it was gigantic too. Long Chen looked up and could faintly see the silhouette of the city. Although it was on a tree, the city was much larger than Black Gold City. It was similar to Giant Metal City of the Metal District!

Long Chen followed Suxue past the city walls to the beautiful Heavenly Wood City. When he finally laid eyes on the city, he was slightly astonished as the previous city he saw was in ruins with dilapidated wooden houses everywhere. Heavenly Wood City, however, was like a paradise. Long Chen stood on the tall city walls and looked across the city. The whole city was covered in a layer of white mist, like the legendary palace of immortals. The only difference was that the city was filled with beautiful wooden houses. This city had brought the art of building with wood to its peak. He realized that the houses were not just buildings, but pieces of art.

All types of hyper-realistic wooden sculptures peeked through the mist. When the breeze blew gently, many sophisticated wooden buildings became visible. It was the first time he had seen such beautiful structures.

“Big Brother, this place is beautiful, isn’t it? I want to live here forever. If it wasn’t for the fact that we can only stay in the Ancient Graveyard for a year, I would have asked Father to let me stay here forever. I’ve never seen such a beautiful and elegant city built on a tree in my life,” said Suyan energetically.

“You almost died and you’re talking about the city!” Suxue scolded her. “Let’s not waste any more time. Come and meet Father with me now.”
