Chapter 49: The Punisher, Perhaps Even More Evil

Everyone stared in shock, disbelief etched on their faces, especially the survivors of Donghua City. Blood Bear, was dead, just like that?! 

Recently, Blood Bear had ruled Donghua City with an iron fist, his unmatched strength crushing other Evolvers completely. He was the undisputed overlord of Donghua City.

 Yet, this immensely powerful figure in their minds hadn't lasted even twenty seconds before Qin Jun. He was crushed like an ant!

All eyes turned to Qin Jun, who remained calm, having killed Blood Bear as easily as squashing an insect. Only now did people realize the most dangerous thing wasn't the Qin family behind Qin Jun, but Qin Jun himself!

The experts from the Qin family also looked at Qin Jun with fear and submission in their eyes. They knew Qin Jun was strong, with an SSS-level talent, but had never felt it so viscerally. Now, they truly understood Qin Jun's power. 

Blood Bear's strength was undeniable, especially after transforming into a giant bear. But even such a powerhouse was crushed alive by Qin Jun, without anyone understanding how he did it!

In the apocalypse, having a powerful background was important, but the only thing that truly commanded respect and submission was one's own strength. 

None of Blood Bear's Evolvers moved to avenge him. In fact, some even felt relieved. They had been forced to follow Blood Bear recently and detested him. 

Seeing Blood Bear killed by Qin Jun, they felt schadenfreude and looked at Qin Jun with favor.

Many cried tears of joy, hugging and celebrating, showing how much they hated Blood Bear. Under his rule, their lives had been worse than death. Blood Bear was extremely brutal, killing at will and abusing women daily, causing constant fear among the shelter's residents. 

Their hatred for Blood Bear was profound. But in front of Evolvers, ordinary people had no power or means to resist. Even if all of them revolted, they probably couldn't harm Blood Bear. 

Without Qin Jun, they would have been enslaved by Blood Bear forever. To these survivors, the Qin family, who killed Blood Bear, were heroes. They finally didn't have to endure Blood Bear's tyranny!

Some elderly survivors cried with joy, saying, “The country hasn't abandoned us, the country has come to save us!” 

Several Evolvers approached Qin Jun, thanking him, “Young Master Qin, thank you for killing Blood Bear. “He was cruel and ruthless, greedy and cunning.”

“Thank you for eliminating this scourge! He even wanted to use us as cannon fodder to hunt the Zombie King!”

Hearing their heartfelt thanks, Qin Jun couldn't help but laugh. Did they really see him as their savior? He looked at the Evolvers and smiled, “Did you misunderstand something?”

Misunderstand? The Evolvers were puzzled. What did he mean? 

Qin Jun's eyes were indifferent as he looked at them and chuckled, “With Blood Bear dead, it's your turn. I said, either hunt the Zombie King, or die.”

The Evolvers' faces turned extremely ugly. They looked at Qin Jun in disbelief. Was he going to use them as cannon fodder too? 

Qin Jun's eyes narrowed slightly. Hunting the Zombie King would yield high-quality energy crystals but was extremely dangerous. The Zombie King wasn't an ordinary zombie. Hunting it would certainly result in many deaths. 

While the Qin family had many Evolvers, each one was a valuable asset, to be preserved if possible. From the start, Qin Jun had intended to use the Evolvers of Donghua City as cannon fodder.

Seeing the cold glint in Qin Jun's eyes, the Evolvers felt a chill. They had thought that with Blood Bear's death, the dark cloud over Donghua City would lift. 

They could rebuild their shelter and live quietly in the apocalypse. But they didn't expect that with Blood Bear dead, an even more terrifying Qin Jun would arrive. 

Qin Jun was even more despair-inducing than Blood Bear. Blood Bear was just one person, but behind Qin Jun was the immense Qin family.

Looking at Blood Bear's deformed corpse, the Evolvers dared not flee or resist. Despite being Evolvers, they felt utterly powerless. 

Killing an evil person didn't necessarily make one a hero. Sometimes, it could mean an even more evil presence had arrived.

Seeing the grim faces of the Donghua City Evolvers, Qin Jun smiled in satisfaction. These Evolvers didn't dare oppose Blood Bear, so naturally, they wouldn't dare defy him. 

Qin Jun then instructed Xie Han, “Take all the resources in this shelter. We'll take everything back to Dongdu.”

Although Dongdu was already well-established and didn't lack resources, in the apocalypse, resources were always crucial. Blood Bear had annexed nearly all the other shelters, bringing their resources here. 

Essentially, he had collected all the resources of Donghua City. The resources of an entire city were substantial. Of course, Qin Jun wouldn't waste them. 

Even if it meant taking away the resources the nearly ten thousand survivors depended on. Qin Jun was personally taking away their chance of survival.
