The crowd beneath the stage watched with bated breath. Thunderstorm, the favorite they had all been rooting for, was astonishingly beaten by Wang Shan with a relentless barrage of ten strikes!

The gap in strength between Thunderstorm and Wang Shan became painfully clear.

Though the match was not yet over, the outcome was clear in the minds of the spectators.

As the initiator and mayor, he had the authority to end the contest.

The mayor of Twilight Cloud Town chuckled, “My thanks, Mayor Su. From today, Twilight Cloud Town will ascend to the 2000th rank nationwide, leaving Azure Thunder Town at 2001!”

​The mayor of Twilight Cloud Town couldn’t contain his joy, and for good reason. For years, Twilight Cloud Town had been overshadowed by Azure Thunder Town. For the past five years, Twilight Cloud Town had consistently ranked below Azure Thunder Town, leaving its mayor in a perpetual state of embarrassment at every meeting, often the target of Su Yu’s mockery.

But now, he could finally hold his head high, and he had Wang Shan to thank for that. Wang Shan had given him the perfect opportunity to release years of pent-up frustration.

“The competition has concluded. Wang Shan of Twilight Cloud Town is the victor. He will be awarded two hundred thousand in cash, a High Grade Earth Rank martial technique, and a Great Replenishing Pill,” announced Su Yu, putting an abrupt end to the competition that had turned into a complete spectacle.

​Wang Shan shook his head in disbelief as he gazed upon his opponent, Lei Bao, who lay there, barely clinging to life. “Is the competition over already?” he asked icily.

​In that moment, Lei Bao’s arrogance evaporated. Terrified by Wang Shan’s words, he scrambled down from the stage in haste.

And just like that, the once-celebrated prodigy of Azure Thunder Town had lost his luster.

From that moment on, Wang Shan’s reputation soared, and he was hailed as a genius by the villagers of both towns.
