Chapter 3951 A Deal Behind Closed Doors
Chapter 3951 A Deal Behind Closed Doors
Master Taiwu smirked.
His appearance was that of a middle-aged man. He was clad in white robes that gleamed in the dim light of the room. His facial features were refined. His eyes were also sharp, indicating his wisdom of running a profitable business for a long time.
The air around him actually shimmered faintly with the power of many talismans and protective clothing, making one know that he could not be trifled with easily.
His long, silver hair was tied back neatly, and his fingers, which rested lightly on the table, drummed in a slow rhythm as he looked at the strange brothers with an intrigued emotion.
"Respected patrons," Master Taiwu responded, "I am pleased to hear that you may make an offer that I can't refuse, but you must also understand that the item of concern is extremely popular with all our long-time patrons. We must understand the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit is a unique magical beast that survived a great ordeal and may have received a significant amount of karmic luck when the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm collapsed. I cannot sell before the grand auction starts in twenty-four days, much less before I ask the other parties who are highly interested."
Across from him sat two men.
Their facial features told Master Taiwu that they could be brothers or even twins.
The man on the left appeared slender and agile. He looked quite feminine with his pale skin. His black hair was also smooth, having waves until the shoulder-length, while his dark eyes gleamed with mischief. He kept a smile, his lips curling into a playful smirk the entire duration as though this situation was nothing more than amusing to him.
His black robe was slightly unkempt and loose in color, unlike the other man to the right, who seemed to be seated more properly and dressed neatly.
He appeared refined with a tall, broad shoulder and a well-groomed mustache resting above his lips, adding a distinguished air that accentuated the firm aura he possessed. His eyes were similarly sharp and calculating, unlike the playfulness seen in the other man.
He sat with his back straight, his hands folded, "A futile attempt at increasing the price."
"You could say that, but that is definitely not my intention."
Master Taiwu remained calm.
"Of course, you wouldn't be able to say that after I throw the offer in front of you."
"Respected patrons, for this transaction, you requested to remain anonymous, and I respect your decision as we all have a reputation to maintain. In the same way— I cannot throw the most sought-after item of the auction away. That would be no different than betraying my patrons."
"Big brother, don't make this longer than it needs to be. Just finish the transaction." Interrupted the effeminate man with an amused chuckle.
"Fine." The black-robed man heaved a sigh and nodded. He produced a spatial ring and kept it on the table, "There's fifty million Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals here. That should be more than enough for a Peak-Level Sovereign Grade Item that's worth no more than a hundred billion Immortal Crystals at max, right?"
"…"
Master Taiwu smiled.
He said nothing and grabbed the spatial ring, checking it. When he did, his gaze flickered before he kept the spatial ring back on the table and pushed it towards them.
"The amount is satisfactory, but it is still difficult to- "
"Ten million more."
The effeminate man placed a second spatial ring. It made Master Taiwu's smile forceful because he was almost unable to contain his excitement.
Fifty million Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals were already high for that stupid rabbit, in his opinion, but they were offering him ten million more?
It must be known that Peak-Level Immortal or Transcendent Crystals were extremely hard to obtain. Mostly Autarch-level characters would be in possession of it and, most of the time, refuse to let go of it as it was an important cultivation resource for them.
Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals were extremely scarce in this layer. They couldn't be found even in Minor Realms. Only Lower Realms with a high concentration of energy can possibly beget a Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core but even then, these resources were something that is mostly under the control of the realm powers.
They were difficult to find in the Upper Realms and fairly rare in the Greater Realms, but these resources wouldn't see the light of day in the Lower Realms.
Therefore, most trades would be conducted using High-Level Transcendent Crystals with a high exchange rate for Autarch Grade Treasures. However, these two men directly forked out so many Peak-Level Transcendent Crystals.
His heart was pounding hard and his entire body felt limp. He felt like he was covered in the softness of many beauties right now.
"Sixty million Peak-Level Transcendental Crystals it is then."
Master Taiwu was no longer able to bear it. His smile became lecherous as he nodded twice, thrice— kept nodding like a fool until the other party opened their mouths. Depending on the market rate, its value can even reach about nine hundred billion High-Level Transcendent Crystals! That was fifteen times the rate and almost equivalent to a trillion High-Level Transcendent Crystals!
A trillion High-Level Immortal Crystals for a mere Peak-Level Sovereign Grade Item? He had profited extremely.
"That decides it. We have a deal."
"Remember, it must be today, or the consequences will be severe."
"Yes," Master Taiwu's expression turned solemn, "The item will be sent to you within an hour. Please wait."
He took out a messaging talisman and began giving out instructions. After that, he kept the messaging talisman in and smirked.
"Gentleman, now that we have reached an agreement, can you let me know why you want the rabbit?"
"Not your problem." The effeminate man laughed lightly.
"Indeed, it is not my problem, but since this magical beast is a prisoner who had escaped an Upper Realm's execution, I recommend not showing it outside. Otherwise, it is difficult to protect her."
"You don't need to worry about that." Said the calm big brother.
"Of course."
Master Taiwu shit his mouth. He leaned back and relaxed. A maid came in to serve refreshments and left quickly. However, the more time passed, the more he frowned. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
He said an hour was enough for the exchange. He lied. That was just to give himself more time in case there was some trouble. Five minutes was enough to bring the rabbit here. However, it was already ten minutes, and the rabbit wasn't here yet in a cage.
What was going on?
He excused himself using a random reason and took out the messaging talisman.
"This... Young Master Reiwu brought that Empyrean into the storage space..."
"What!?"
Master Taiwu looked confused as hell as he stared again at the messaging talisman. He knew his son was undisciplined, but he felt there was no way his son would be that stupid in the realm of retarded.
"So what? Show them their way out and bring the rabbit already!"
"This... that Empyrean is having a conversation with that rabbit..."
"...!?"
