Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3902 Reuniting With His Sworn Brothers

Chapter 3902  Reuniting With His Sworn Brothers

Hearing Davis's voice, the resting figures of the three former Patriarchs jumped up. They quickly sat up, looking at Davis with wide eyes.

They couldn't believe he was in front of them, considering that they had received news that he had decided to stay back in order to save his little sister. They all thought that he would be killed or, at the very least, caught and publicly executed since he was just a weak Immortal King.

Even if he had some kind of treasure that could boost his prowess to the Empyrean Stage, would his body be able to handle it?

Wouldn't he break down and disintegrate like an ordinary sword that wasn't able to handle its master's energy?

They were afraid he would simply breakdown into ashes before he could even be caught.

However, he was standing before them— unscathed!

Words alone couldn't describe the scene they were witnessing, and no matter how they stared, he didn't disappear. This didn't seem to be an illusion.

"You're not an avatar, right…?" Fenren asked.

His eyes were wide as saucers, and he stood up shakingly before walking up to Davis. Soaren and Andiron also followed suit before they saw Davis awkwardly nod.

"I'm not an avatar. This is the Divine Emperor of Death in flesh and blood-"

"Brother!"

Fenren Jadelight jumped at Davis and gave him a wide, hearty, and firm hug.

Davis went stiff.

Fenren smelled dirty. His brother didn't seem to have taken a bath for days or cleaned himself up with energy for so long. Nonetheless, Davis wryly smiled and hugged back, knowing how to react now.

"Fuck, getting caught like that so easily instead of escaping the moment you appeared in the true immortal world. Are you trying to kill me or what!?"

He slapped Fenren's shoulder and almost crushed his bones.

"Ah!" Fenren screamed like a pig that was going to be slaughtered as he bent from the mountainous pressure weighing on him.

"It's a good thing you're alive…" Soaren nodded. His expression moved as he looked away as though he was going to cry.

Behind them, Andiron also sighed in relief.

They were indeed feeling vexed that they implicated him. They both wished he would appear and save them, but he wouldn't appear and take revenge for them later. However, having their lives intact and still having him with them was a wonderful outcome, and they couldn't ask for more.

Davis stopped crushing Fenren and raised him up, patting his shoulders.

"Sorry about the whole fiasco, brother. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been implicated. Still, why didn't you just speak out against me in order to be together with your family? You know I wouldn't have taken it seriously."

"I won't bend my convictions and lie when we indeed were sworn brothers." Fenren waved his hand, looking cool.

"Don't look at me. I'm even more crazy than that bastard."

Soaren shrugged as he looked down on Fenren before haughtily speaking out, "Sooner or later, I'll kill those stupid realm officials who quickly arrested me and tortured me before sending me off."

Davis chuckled lightly before he turned to look at Andiron.

"You're also my sworn brother, but I didn't think you would really stick up for me until the end. You have my utmost trust from now on."

"…" Andiron's expression churned.

He didn't think he was that important to Davis as he wasn't as close as Fenren and Soaren to Davis, but with this, he also knew he could be proud to call Davis his sworn brother. After all, he was also saved by Davis's group and wasn't left behind.

"Of course, you are my clan's hope. I can't have you die, but as a brother, I can't have you let go of you all the more. If I did, then I would never be able to forgive myself nor rely on you again. Despite being a turtle, I don't have such a shameless face."

Andiron smiled as he shook his head before he cupped his hand and bowed.

"I apologize for the actions of the entirety of the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan. Despite the prophecy, it was clear they took action against you. Even if they didn't want to, they couldn't go against the Heaven's Warriors in the open. In the end, they decided to preserve themselves and chose to harm you, our savior. I don't have the face to ask you to save us anymore."

Andiron's gaze trembled.

"Not exactly. There were signs of your realm master releasing you three at the last second, but to wait till the last second is truly shameless, as you said. Nonetheless, forget it. Who cares about a prophecy? If you, my brother, want my help, just say it."

Davis grinned and patted Andiron's shoulder, causing him to tremble more.

"Your families— I would like to invite them all into my abode."

"…!"

Davis uttered, causing the three of them to be shocked.

"However, I don't know when or how we can bring all your families back or if they would even be safe, so forgive me. No matter the blame, I will accept it and try to do my best to protect you all from now on. Renfa Jadelight, I've harmed you enough… forgive me…"

Davis said before he looked at Renfa Jadelight, whom he once accidentally killed or, rather, Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley killed her. But still, he had indeed implicated her back then and even now. She was pregnant and decided to kill herself.

He had no words of apology to offer to her for that kind of determination. She intended to make the execution not one of the heroism of the righteous world but to prove to them that they were the villains who tried to slaughter three innocents by sacrificing herself and the baby within.

His apologetic look caused Renfa Jadelight to shudder.

She was indeed angry at him, but he went so far as to save her love and the other two. All that anger had deflated, leaving her with apologetic and sympathetic emotions as she shed a tear.

"You cultivated hard enough to protect your family and those important to you. I shouldn't have doubted you or have the right to hate you… forgive me as well…"

"…"

Davis's expression churned.

He felt guilty. If fate didn't allow him to meet Rokushi Mirai and obtain the black-white stone, would he have decided to save them or just watched? It was difficult to tell.

Nonetheless, they were all finally able to see in each other's eyes and tell that what happened was nothing at all.

They looked forward to the future, but the future wasn't so bright.

Davis heard that their families were safe for the time being as the Heaven's Warriors themselves punished the three of them in exchange for letting everyone go. It was apparently the mandate. There shouldn't be any changes to that unless the Heaven's Warriors were to go back on their words.

However, it was unknown what the realm officials would do. Get rid of the disgrace and exile them? Cull them like they were livestock because they brought shame to the clan?

It was unknown what would happen to them. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Davis had even saved Soaren's wife back then from poison, and only then did the latter acknowledge him as a brother and treat him well even after knowing he was an Anarchic Divergent. That was the start of their brotherly relationship, so he knew how Soaren would go crazy for her.

He could still see Soaren was more worried than Fenren.

Apparently, the realm officials of his Golden Crow Clan disliked him because his mouth was uncouth. He straightaway defended him and started pointing out their mistakes and stupidity, which instantly ostracized him.

To this matter, Davis could only think that no matter the place, his brother Soaren was too fiery for the world, outspoken, and did not mince his words. Davis had no words to offer.

"Well, their families would be monitored for a few hundred years at the very least, trying to catch you four again." Karyot intruded into their conversation as he walked from Saintess Lunaria's group. He seemed pretty interested in making friends.

However, his group was not so curious. They didn't disturb them and left them to their devices.

"Makes sense."

When Davis turned to look at Saintess Lunaria, her eyes smiled at him.

"We can't stay for long as it's still dangerous out there, so we'll be leaving soon." She uttered, her voice melodious and gentle.

"…"

Davis nodded, but his heart throbbed with shame. He didn't have a kind heart that was as big as hers. He thought it was really time to mend the relationship with her.

But suddenly, a hand wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer as a soul transmission fell in his mind.

"Brother… I finally met the Nine Lives Gracious Fox face to face and chatted with her while she healed me. She's so gorgeous!!!"

It was none other than Fenren, his expression not looking like someone who went through an execution but a dumb guy who fell for a beautiful woman at first sight as he had his eyes wide and his lips grinning like a fool.
