Chapter 133: Wrong Decision
Chapter 133: Wrong Decision
"Vice boss, are you not going out today?" Marvin asked as it was weird to see Satella still in the base after their breakfast.
"En… I'm not going out today. Please handle the base's day-to-day operation as usual and let me know if you need anything." Satella answered. Judging from her reply, she seems to be still affected by Zhang Qin Feng's silent departure without talking to her.
Deep in her heart, she's worried that he might choose to not coming over here anymore.
'Was what I've told him yesterday too much for him to accept?' Satella asked herself. She was the only one that knew the truth about Zhang Qin Feng's origin. But it's not like she can talk to the others about this.
"Vice boss. Are we not going out to the Turbine City today?" her assistant come after Marvin. Looks like her question were the same.
"No. Help Queenie while you're free. If there's anything happened, you can be there to provide some support as well." Satella replied. A hint of frustration was clearly seen on her face as she was asked the same question twice early in the morning.
Luckily, no one comes to bother her after that.
Going up to one of the guard stations that allowed her to look further outside of the Wind Base, she scanned their surroundings aimlessly. From the look of it, she seems to be in quite a bad mood based on the number of a sigh she's giving out.
"Satella, you're not going out?" after a while, someone comes and asks the same question for the third time.
This time, she's no longer keeping her temper in control and angrily smashed the binoculars she's holding into scrap. Turning her head around and staring at the person that dares to approach her at this time, she makes a vow to teach him a lesson.
If she doesn't, she won't be called Satella, the Vice boss of Wind Base.
But when it turned out to be Zhang Qin Feng, she changed. The lunge that was supposed to tackle and bring this unlucky fellow down to the ground before she beat him black and blue turned into an embrace as if she had lost him for good.
Not minding the people looking at them, she kissed Zhang Qin Feng all over, starting from his lips to his forehead, nose, earlobes, and even his neck.
"Wow… Look at our Vice boss… She's quite 'hungry' for our boss, right?" one of the guards slapped the shoulder of his colleague as he witnessed the fierceness of their Vice boss.
That tackle… Even he might fell into her mercy. Of course, if he was the one below, he would end up with a bruised face that not even a bottle of Instant Recovery Spray could handle.
"Did something happened?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. He was surprised by Satella's initiative to pounce him like a tiger. Luckily, all he got from her were kisses and cuddles.
"I thought I'm losing you for good…" Satella hugged him and buried her face beside his.
"I'm back, did I not? Want to go out and hunt some zombies?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. He'll have to go and do something anyway since the charges reserved in the system are getting low. Furthermore, there's a surprise he wanted Satella to have.
By the time they walked out of the base together, Satella's face seems to back to how she usually looks. The sign of confidence was once again replaced the depressing atmosphere she had earlier.
"Our Vice boss changed her attitude so fast after the boss came," Queenie said as she looks at how happy Satella was the moment Zhang Qin Feng came to the base. But in their mind, there's a question that bothered them.
'Since the boss is always in the base, what made the Vice boss happy and moody all the time? It's not like their boss was not around!'
…
…
"Feng, take this." Satella passed the remodeled Phalanx into Zhang Qin Feng's hand. Looks like their plan to go out was seen by Victor, and that guy is eager to let Zhang Qin Feng test how good is the modification.
"Hah… This guy… He better not give me some malfunctioning gun to use…" Zhang Qin Feng took the gun from Satella and pulled the piece of lens up. The battery inside, called Atom, quickly activated and displayed multiple information.
A green hue soon envelops the gun, which means it was charged.
"Let's go. Do you want me to hold one of those canisters for you?" Satella asked. She seems to found out that Zhang Qin Feng's come and go is somewhat related to the canister on his back.
'Would it work the same if she's holding them on my behalf?' Zhang Qin Feng made sure he got Stein's approval before he agreed to Satella's request.
[Unfortunately, the system's link between items does not work that way. All item has to be in the user's reach to considered as a "linked" item]
"Don't worry. These things were not heavy anyway." Zhang Qin Feng replied. But from his tone, there's a hint of inconvenience in his words. The sensitive Satella quickly noticed from his reply and chose to remain indifferent about it.
Many have changed by the time they reach the outskirt area where they hunted once.
"This is impossible… How can the zombies expand their numbers so fast?" Satella was surprised. From her reaction, it seems that this was not the case yesterday.
"Feng! Careful! I'm afraid that something is happening in this area. If we can, let's choose to not hunt around here today!" Satella turned her head back to Zhang Qin Feng with a worried expression, but it seems that it was too late for them to regret their decision today.
"Hooah!" an uprooted tree was thrown at them. If it was not because Zhang Qin Feng had Stein's assistance, it would be too late for them to dodge this sneak attack.
In that instant, Zhang Qin Feng went and tackled Satella as both of them rolled down from the cliff and entered the zombie-infested city.
