Chapter 627: Devil Zhenxi?
"Did they fight with you?"
"Mmm… it's Lulu. She's always making fun of you…" Zhenxi nodded casually, completely unbothered. If anyone dared to make fun of him again, she'd gladly smash their head once more.
She certainly didn't seem to care.
"Oh?" A sharp glint flickered in Wang Xiao's eyes. "Why stop at smashing her head? Let's smash her entire generation."
"Uh… isn't that a bit too much?" Aurora's brows twitched, her voice laced with disbelief. It was a children's squabble, yet here he was, ready to escalate it like a battlefield general.
Wang Xiao, however, didn't spare her a glance. With a light pat on the dragon's back, he signaled it to change course, steering directly toward Zhenxi's school. "Let's go meet this 'Lulu' of yours."
Seeing him genuinely excited about confronting a child, Aurora sighed in exasperation, rubbing her temples. She could only hope that whoever this 'Lulu' was, they'd somehow survive the impending disaster.
____
The principal's office at 'Qinghai Experimental School' felt like a pressure cooker ready to explode.
The air-conditioning wasn't working properly, and the stale air only added to the tension.
Principal Li Fanghua, who looked like she'd rather be anywhere else, sat behind her oversized desk with an expression that screamed, 'I don't get paid enough for this shit.'
Across from her, Dong Feng, the type of guy who wore his expensive suit like armor, leaned forward with an air of authority.
His tone was sharp enough to cut glass. "This is outrageous, Principal Li. My daughter—my only daughter—was attacked! This 'Zhenxi' kid is a menace, and I won't stand for it."
His wife, Lei Xei, nodded furiously, clutching her designer handbag like it was some kind of moral high ground. "A child who resorts to violence like this? Clearly, there's something wrong with her upbringing. What kind of guardian lets this happen?"
Principal Li nodded along, already regretting coming to school on a weekend. "I understand, Mr. Dong. Rest assured, we're taking this matter very seriously. A report will be sent to the school board immediately."
Lulu, sitting between her parents, fidgeted. She had that classic bully look: overconfident until shit hit the fan. Now, she was just a kid trying not to get grounded for eternity.
"She just went crazy!" Lulu piped up, her voice shaking. "I only said her dad doesn't exist! I didn't mean anything by it!"
Principal Li winced. 'Oh, for fuck's sake, kid, shut up.'
"You see?" Dong Feng banged his fist on the desk, making the decorative pen holder wobble. "What kind of savage child reacts to a harmless comment like that? This is unacceptable. I want that little brat expelled. No—better yet, I'll sue them! I'll drag them to court if I have to!"
SWOOSH!
Before Principal Li could say anything, a low rumble shook the office.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
The windows rattled, and everyone froze.
"What the hell was that?" Lei Xei asked, clutching her handbag tighter.
Principal Li frowned, getting up to peer out the window. "Probably just construction—"
Then she saw it.
A goddamn dragon.
WHOOSH!
It soared across the sky like something out of a fantasy novel, its massive wings blotting out the sun for a moment. Its white scales gleamed, and its roar sent shivers down her spine.
"What the actual fuck—" Principal Li whispered, her usual professional facade crumbling.
"Oh my god," Lei Xei gasped, scrambling to her feet. "Is that a—"
"—dragon," Dong Feng finished, his authoritative tone suddenly gone. He looked like someone had sucker-punched him.
Lulu, now pale as a sheet, croaked, "It's her. It's Zhenxi. She told me her dad rides a dragon…"
"Don't be ridiculous," Dong Feng snapped, though his voice cracked halfway.
The dragon roared again, a sound that shook the very air. It didn't stop or land—it just flew by, casual as a fucking airplane, as if mocking everyone watching.
Principal Li, still glued to the window, muttered, "This can't be real. What is this school coming to?"
Dong Feng recovered enough to try and save face. "I don't care if they ride unicorns or flying pigs. That doesn't excuse violence! This is about principles!"
Principal Li turned to face him, her hands trembling just slightly. 'Principles? Principles? Mr. Dong, there's a goddamn dragon in the sky! Principles don't mean shit right now!'
Lulu buried her face in her hands. "She's going to smash me again, isn't she?"
"Oh, don't be dramatic," Lei Xei said, though her voice wavered. "Principal Li, you have to do something. Call someone! The police, the military—"
"The military?" Principal Li snapped, throwing her hands in the air. "What do you want me to say? 'Hello, yes, there's a dragon flying over my school. Could you send a tank?'"
The dragon was almost out of sight now, its massive form shrinking in the distance.
Principal Li sank into her chair, her head in her hands. 'Why did I ever take this job?'
And as the dragon disappeared beyond the horizon, one thought lingered in everyone's minds: 'What kind of psycho flies a dragon over a school on a weekend?'
Knock! Knock! Knock!
At that moment, all of their hearts collectively shook for no apparent reason. The sound was sharp, deliberate, and heavy enough to make everyone in the room pause.
Principal Li's brow furrowed. She raised a hand and signaled the doorman, a lanky janitor who had been standing awkwardly in the corner, to open the door.
Click!
The door creaked open, and before the doorman could even fully pull it back, a voice cut through the air.
"Oh, hi, Teacher Lei…"
It was Wang Xiao, who barged in with the kind of confidence that demanded attention, his sharp eyes immediately landing on a woman seated near the window.
Lei Xei, with her dyed blonde curls, fashionable glasses, and fair complexion, sat with an air of cultivated indifference that screamed too good for this shit. Her body language—legs crossed, fingers tapping on the armrest—radiated bitchiness in waves.
Wang Xiao's eyes narrowed slightly as recognition clicked in his mind. "You are…?"
For a brief moment, Lei Xei looked taken aback. She adjusted her glasses, leaning forward to get a better look. "Wait… You're… Wang Xiao?"
She blinked, visibly startled. "You're that kid I taught in—"
Wang Xiao cut her off with a casual wave, already bored. He ignored her for a second, stepping further into the room as if it was his personal domain.
Following closely behind him was Aurora, her elegance contrasting sharply with the chaos her presence brought, and then Zhenxi, who marched in like she owned the place, her smile barely hidden.
"..."
"..."
The room fell into stunned silence.
Principal Li's jaw visibly tightened. The Liu family, who had been mid-rant just minutes ago, froze in their seats like deer in headlights.
Wang Xiao's lips quirked in an almost-smile as he looked back at Lei Xei. "Fancy seeing you here, Teacher Lei. Small world, huh?"
His gaze drifted, almost unconsciously, to a man seated near the corner—Dong Feng, middle-aged, well-dressed, but with an air of someone trying too hard to appear composed.
Wang Xiao's eyes narrowed slightly as he studied him, silently confirming what he'd already suspected: it wasn't Zhao Yang's father.
But the sight of Lei Xei brought back memories, and not the fond kind. If his recollection was right, this woman had been tangled up in scandal back in the day. She'd been having an affair with one of his classmate Zhao Yang's father—a mess that had been whispered about in the hallways of their school like wildfire.
Zhao Yang, the same hot-headed kid who had picked fights over every little slight, now possessed by a Hell Spirit.
Lei Xei blinked again, clearly thrown off her game. "I… I haven't taught in years. What are you doing here?"
"Handling some business," Wang Xiao replied casually. He turned his attention to Principal Li, completely dismissing Lei Xei as if her presence no longer mattered.
"Principal," he began, "I hear there's been some trouble with my daughter."
The mention of "my daughter" made Lei Xei family visibly flinch.
Zhenxi, now standing beside her father, looked up at him with wide, innocent eyes. "Daddy...Can I smash her head again?"
Hiss!
The room collectively gasped.
