Chapter 112 112 – Giganpoppy
I steeled my heart as Phisovia vomited a lot of blood.
"Why?" She looked at me with eyes filled with tears. "Why are you doing this, my love?"
I shook my head, trying not to fall for her trickery. "You are an illusion. You are not my Phisovia."
She then held my hand, which was still embedded in her chest, causing a heavy flow of blood. "But soon, it will be your reality. This whole world will be what you want it to be. And you are the center of it."
A bitter chuckle left my mouth. "This whole world? So, this fantasy world is going to be like my world? There's no way I can accept that."
If this world were to completely change, my future comrades would not be born. They will never exist, and maybe only I will remember them.
That woman then rubbed my face. Again, I feel the tenderness and warmth that I miss from her.
"So what?" She hissed, her face showing no pain at all, even though I was squeezing her still-beating heart. "This is your deep-down desire, right?"
Those words made every vein in my face tense up. "Don't talk like you know about me. My dream has changed. I have a different goal now."
"No, this is what you wanted! We will grant your wish!"
"If you claim you can grant my wish, send me to the future and make me rule the world." I brought my face closer to hers.
She opened her mouth, looking confused by my words. "What are you talking about? This is not your wish?"
"As expected, you can't grant my true wish." I'm trying to pull out the heart of this fake Phisovia, but I'm having a hard time doing it. It's like there's an invisible force holding my hand. "You merely peeked into my heart, concluded that what you saw was my greatest wish, then carried it out without my consent. You are simply a useless entity, an anomaly of this world."
The fake Phisovia showed a stern expression as if she was about to argue with me. But in just an instant, she seemed to calm down again.
"Hey, look, you're awesome." She stared at the television.
That thing still shows me in a suit, but without a head. It was because he was juggling his own head.
And the head was repeating sentences. "Hey, myself! How are you feeling today!? Hey, myself! How are you feeling today!?"
This may be a good sign. A few moments ago, it seemed that reality would settle. Now the oddities were appearing again. Looks like what I did was right.
I have to destroy a piece of this new reality.
"Arrrghhh!!!" I mustered all my strength to tug at Phisovia's heart. Instead of screaming in pain, she moved her arms like a snake, and her tongue stuck out.
The sound of the trumpets and the chorus entered my ears again. Maybe the oddities have popped up around me again, but I felt no need to check them out. I have to stay focused on what I'm doing now.
"Arggghhh!!!"
And finally, I felt the woman's heart move a little, and the beat slowed.
It was then the top of Phisovia's head fell off. A small version of that woman's figure came out of her brain, then scolded me with a shrill voice.
However, I still don't care. I stay focused on killing that woman. "Come on!!!"
And finally, I managed to pull the heart out of Phisovia's body. However, what happened after was different from my expectations.
The blood that was coming out of Phisovia's chest looked like it came from a collapsed dam. My body was instantly washed away by the red liquid.
I tried to swim, but the current was so intense I couldn't do anything, not even breathe.
And finally, something caught me. I felt my body circling in the air, but all I could see was pitch darkness.
"Ugh." I groaned as my back landed on something hard.
As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw white powder falling from the darkness. I got up and found something beyond my expectations again.
A few yards from where I was, I saw something over 30 feet tall, but I wasn't sure if it was a plant. Yes, the ball-shaped top of that thing is organic green with a magenta flower crown. However, what supported those was something resembling a white concrete pillar.
Honestly, that thing is less like a poppy plant. Only its size deserves the title of 'gigan.'
I approached that thing, paying attention to the crown that continued to spit out white powder every ten seconds.
"What exactly are you? Are you a god?" The words just slipped out of my mouth.
That thing didn't answer and just kept spitting out the powder.
After a while of looking at it, I woke up. Now is not the time to daydream. My gaze then fell to the expanse of white powder around me.
I meant to take a cloth bag from my pants, but I realized I was still wearing a soccer jersey.
And the outfit was covered in blood.
Of course, I wondered about it, but I didn't have time. I don't know how long I'll be here.
I knelt down, took off my shirt, and used it as a place to collect the powder. Not knowing how much I needed, I gathered as many as possible.
Just a few seconds of doing so, everything changed again. I'm back, surrounded by forest trees, and the giganpoppy is out of sight.
However, my jersey is still there, the blood that soaked it, and the powders I collected.
Meaning that the jersey and blood were actually materialized and not an illusion. The conclusion was that everything that had happened just now was real.
It did blow my mind, but I don't want to think about it too far for now. I want to take a rest.
I wrapped the powder I collected in a jersey, then contacted Ayre.
One more thing that I noticed was that the powders were not contaminated with blood from the jersey. Their color remains pure white.
"Ayre, head to the teleportation arrival point on the outskirts of town. Bring me a change of clothes and some medium-sized bags." I spoke to the shapeshifter general. "I managed to gather what I really think is giganpoppy extract. I'll be back now."
