Chapter 1496 Origin of the Dark Waters

Chapter 1496  Origin of the Dark Waters

Realizing that the secret realm he was currently inside was not actually a secret realm but instead a mystic realm- and one that he had likely already been to in the past, Chu Yang could not help looking through the information again to make sure he had not read anything wrong.

Only after he calmed himself down from this sudden revelation, did he continue reading through the rest of the information. Finding that outside of a bit more information regarding the outer region of the mystic realm that he now found himself inside of, there was also information on the Dead Spirit Canyon- Or more specifically the dark waters the flowed through the Dead Spirit Canyon.

The information in question noted down the origin of the dark waters as being a place called the Dark Spirit Ocean, a place teeming with terrifying creatures that had been sealed away by the Mirage Sect in the past.

At the same time, it also explained the current state of the mystic realm with the dark waters flooding everything.

Apparently, it only affected a single outer region of the mystic realm and had been done deliberately to release stress from the more important parts of the seal on the Dark Spirit Ocean. Allowing some weaker creatures that had been sealed to escape in the process while the core of the seal itself underwent a process of self-repair.

Looking out of the ancient tower he was currently inside of; it didn't take much for him to realize that the tower he was currently inside of should be at the edge of this Dark Spirit Ocean. Although barely visible, he could see some kind of formation symbols flickering across the surface of the dark waters every now and again.

The problem was that according to the information in the scroll, the time it took for the core part of the seal to repair itself and the outer region of the mystic realm to return to its previous state would at least take five years and in case of extensive damage to the core part of the seal could take over a hundred years.

No matter how patient he might be, Chu Yang wasn't planning to just sit around inside an ancient tower for the next hundred years.

For this reason, he began searching for ways that might help him leave the mystic realm earlier.

Unfortunately, the scroll didn't contain any information on how to release the formation that was currently preventing him from using the gate that was right in front of him. Forcing him to turn his attention towards the dozen or so still active teleportation formations present inside of the mystic realm for a potential way out of his current situation.

The main reason why he had not yet gone forward to test out the different teleportation formation was rather simple, as the scroll had also clearly mentioned that the teleportation formations present might only have enough strength for a single use. Potentially turning them into a one-way ticket to an unknown location.

However, given the current state of things, he didn't really have much of a choice if he wanted to continue searching for a way out of the mystic realm, as the only other path would be to wait for an unknown period of time for the dark waters to recede.

Whoosh~!

With that in mind, Chu Yang didn't hesitate for long as he randomly chose one of the teleportation formations present before stepping through it with nervous expression on his face. Hoping that the teleportation formation wouldn't collapse the moment he reached the other side and more importantly that he wouldn't land in a dangerous location.

Crack~

Sadly, the cracking sound that came from beneath his feet the moment he found himself in a new location revealed the fact that the teleportation formation he had just gone through had run its course, as it broke apart before he had a chance to do anything about it.

Not that he realistically could do anything about it with his comprehension of the Dao of Formations…

At the very least, as he began looking around at his new surroundings, he discovered that he was now inside an ancient city that seemed far larger than the one he had encountered at the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon.

But more importantly than that, he didn't sense any danger through his divine sense and the ancient city itself was also floating in the air on top of a large floating island.

Using his divine sense to look around the edges of the ancient city, he even noticed that there were several bridges connected to it going out towards other smaller floating islands. Making him confident that even though he had not found any gate inside the ancient city, he should have a high chance of finding one if he followed those paths leading off the island.

For now, he decided to first thoroughly search through the island and look for anything of value before moving on. After all, different from the other locations he had visited since ascending to the sky, it was clear that this ancient city had far more valuable things lying around.

One example being a pile of spiritual metal that had been haphazardly tucked away in a corner of the ancient city without anyone having come to take it over the years.

Even though the spiritual metal in question had clearly declined in quality over the years, he could still tell that it was valuable from the power still radiating off the metal. Not to mention, he was sure that his junior brother would be overjoyed to get his hands on this kind of ancient spiritual metal that came from the ancient past.

Thinking about it, he wondered if his junior brother might have the ability to reverse engineering the spiritual metal given how skilled he was in the art of blacksmithing.

Whoosh~

Because of this, he didn't hesitate to use a large portion of the storage space he had available to store the ancient spiritual metal.

That and he didn't really have much else to store inside of his interspatial rings for now…

As Chu Yang continued walking through the ruins of the ancient city. Picking up anything of value he found along the way, he soon found himself standing in front of a large building that had mostly been destroyed, as part of it had collapsed in on itself at some point in the past.

"This should be the center of the city where the one in the people in charge should have been staying in the past." Muttering this to himself as he looked over the ancient building that had mostly been reduced to rubble, Chu Yang could not help feeling a bit excited as he began to cautiously make his way inside of the large building at the center of the ancient. Nôv(el)B\\jnn

Given just how many valuable things he had managed to find so far during his search of the ancient city, he had realized that this was a place that had not been explored by others before- or at the very least, those who might have explored the place in the past had been extremely powerful and thus ignored this ancient city.

For this reason alone, he was excited about what might still be hidden inside what should have once been the center of power of this ancient city.

Of course, given that he was still inside the mystic realm and there could be all kinds of deadly dangers lurking around every corner, he made sure to cautiously make his way forward.

After all, there was always a third potential reason why the ancient city had not yet been looted and that was that there might still be some kind of ancient formation guarding the city.

If not for the city itself, at least the more important locations that were also likely to be the first to be explored by anyone entering the ancient city.

In a sense, it was a rather odd choice on his side to go around collecting different things he deemed valuable before moving to the core of the ancient city where the most valuable things would be located.

Although… The reason for this was that he didn't really face any kind of time restraints, as dangers that might have been present on the ground like demon beasts, were nowhere to be seen in the ancient city.

Speaking of which… What had ended up happening to the demon beast below?

Were they swallowed up by the dark water and died? But if that was the case, how would demon beast reemerge again when the water receded in the future? Did they come from other parts of the mystic realm?

Feeling his thoughts starting to wander as he stepped through the rubble of the ancient building searching for anything valuable, Chu Yang quickly focused his attention back on the matter at hand in case he ended up triggering any sort of hidden mechanisms or deadly formations. Ready to back off the moment he sensed anything unusual.
