Chapter 25 Lost Hopes
It was as if Olivia could hear him, and her lips curved upwards, revealing a beautiful smile that was etched on their hearts.
"Did you know?"
Emilia couldn't hold it in anymore as she said, "When Olivia was four, she kept asking me why she didn't have a father!
"I lied to her and said that you were a hero who was fighting in Indiana, protecting the country!
"When she turned five, she would envy other children who had fathers!
"When she turned six, she wanted to learn how to write so that she could write you letters!
"Then, when she turned 7, she wrote them with syllables and punctuation before passing them to me so that I could send them to you!
"This year, she found those letters inside the closet. I didn't send any of them because I didn't want you to worry about us!
"But, she never blamed me for it. She continued writing the letters and still passed them to me. She would always ask for her father whenever she fell asleep!
"This is because you were her pillar of strength!"
After all these years, how much resentment did she have for Oliver?
All of them were rushing out of her like a tsunami as she asked, "Ask yourself from the bottom of your heart. Do you deserve to be her father?"
Inside her beautiful eyes that were filled with tears, she was standing up for her little girl!
She felt bad that she waited for this man for the past 8 years!
She was indignant at this bastard!
There was a storm inside Oliver's heart. If he didn't hear them from his wife, how would he know all these?
He lowered his head without giving any explanation!
He might have been a hero for the country, but he was a criminal for his family!
"Hmph….."
There was a self-loathing smile that appeared on Emilia's pale face, "If you are still a man, please leave this family with all your lies. Allow Olivia to only remember that her father is a hero!
"And not an asshole who abandons his wife as soon as he returns even when she waited on him for 8 long years!"
For this family, she had been standing tall no matter how bad the storm was. She held onto it for 8 years. When she got tired and wanted someone to depend on, it was not what she had hoped for.
Oliver Walker's eyes were wet as well. He did not interrupt his wife and kept his silence.
What right did he have now to explain himself?
The only thing that he could do now was repent and be penitent."
The night was quiet!
But, it was messing around with these sensitive hearts!
Emilia rested her head on Olivia's bed, and soon, she fell asleep as she was overwhelmed with exhaustion.
She was having a sweet dream!
She dreamt that Oliver Walker had returned from the frontlines in Indiana!
He came home with honor and glory. He hugged her tightly and completed his promise about giving her a complete home.
She cried!
After 8 years of pain and suffering, she was no longer at the age where she believed in a fairytale ending, but she still nodded her head.
This was because, from the very beginning, she never lost her love for that man.
Even if she was already wounded, he was still the man whom she kept buried in her memories!
When the sun rose, Emilia lifted her head, and she was smiling as she said, "I do. I agree to be your wife..."
However, the next thing that greeted her was the empty room, and she was the only one in the room with Olivia. That was when she realized that it was all a dream.
Her smile turned cold. Her eyes were sleepy before everything slowly turned clear.
How could it be possible that he would take responsibility for this?
It was good that he left as well. At least, she...
Would not have any more hopes for the future!
But, why did she feel an aching pain coming from her chest?
Why did it hurt so bad?
As she looked at Olivia, who might be asleep or was still unconscious because of the anesthesia, tears started coming out of her eyes.
She hated herself for being so weak. She always had tears that would never dry out!
That man! He did not deserve this!
Yikkkkk...
Suddenly, there was a sound that came from the door, and it shocked Emilia. That pair of eyes that had lost all hope suddenly looked expectant at the door that was opened wide.
