Building A Business Empire From Scratch In Another World

Chapter 119 : Decisions

The air buzzed with excitement as the group gazed at the map depicting Wulleamp District. All except Jarvis, whose calm demeanor stood out amidst the enthusiasm.

Having faced more intense challenges before, he wasn't as thrilled as Trinity and the others. Yet, deep down, he couldn't help but admire Felix's innovative idea.

In the Avalonia Kingdom, and indeed throughout Sylphendil, no noble or royal family would dare to recruit commoners, beggars, or orphans into their ranks.

Such families looked down on these individuals, believing they were unworthy of their cultivation resources.

But Felix's situation was unique; with their current weakness, expanding their numbers and converting wealth into strength was a strategic necessity.

Jarvis found himself genuinely impressed by Felix's perspective. Even he who is from one of the top ten empires in Sylphendil World,he was surprised by this kind of idea.

He was even surprised why one one have ever thought for his idea before. As for those Noble Families and Royal Families clamoring about their lineages and bloodline that's bullshit.

After all, every noble lineage had humble beginnings; most ancestors of these elite families were once commoners themselves. It seemed that arrogance and greed had blinded them to this truth.

Felix broke the contemplative silence: "Our plan will begin in Wulleamp District, but we must proceed cautiously. We need to have a low-key approach. Although Wulleamp District might be one of the insignificant and small districts in the Royal Capital but we still we need to be cautious ".

Understanding his words, everyone nodded in agreement.

"I've also gathered information that each district in the Royal Capital hosts an Adventurer Guild," Felix continued, glancing at Trinity and Brixton.

Their expressions turned serious; they knew their assignments were coming up next.

"The Adventurer Guild here is far more advanced than what we experienced in Brigdemoor City," Felix explained. "The number of dungeons available is simply unmatched."

Taking a deep breath, he added, "So Trinity and Brixton, your task is clear: head to the Adventurer Guild and establish the Morningstar Adventurer Team. Expand it rapidly and seek out talented individuals who might want to join us permanently."

"Understood, Big Bro!" Trinity and Brixton replied eagerly; they were well-acquainted with such processes.

"Good," Felix nodded approvingly.

"What about Gwendolyn and me?" Nixie chimed in curiously.

"Both of yo...".Felix met her gaze but paused mid-sentence.

"Big bro!" Her call snapped him back to reality.

Shaking off his distraction, he said, "Both of you will manage our current business affairs while I outline your future tasks shortly."

"Okay," Gwendolyn nodded confidently alongside Nixie.

Jarvis furrowed his brow thoughtfully. "How do we start recruiting those beggars and orphans?"

Felix chuckled softly, a glint flashed in his eyes. "You've asked the right question," he replied. "We can't just rush into recruiting people on a whim, even if there are beggars and orphans out there. They understand the harsh realities of this world better than anyone else. If we approach them too abruptly, it might raise their suspicions instead of fostering trust, doing more harm than good."

Zephyr frowned, clearly deep in thought. "So how do we proceed?"

Felix shrugged with a smile. "Well, since you're looking to me for answers, why don't we open the floor? Everyone share your suggestions! If they're feasible, we'll consider them."

The group fell silent, brows furrowed as each person delved into their thoughts.

With a calm demeanor, Jarvis glanced around before speaking up. "I have a suggestion."

Felix turned to him with a smile. "Okay then! Let's hear it."

Zephyr and the others leaned in closer, eager to catch Jarvis's idea.

Jarvis surveyed the group, a spark of inspiration lighting his eyes. "We can't just show up out of nowhere and start recruiting. That would only raise their suspicions against us. Instead, why not spread the word among the beggars and orphans that we're looking to take them in and care for them?".

Jarvis paused for a moment toet his words sink and he continued, "We could even mention how you guards were once orphans yourselves, taken in by a powerful figure. Remember that Tier 9 Forbidden Realm expert you concocted back in Brigdemoor City? This is where he comes into play! We just need to subtly release the news that he's interested in gathering more orphans."

Felix and the others exchanged glances, their eyes brightening at Jarvis's well-thought-out plan.

"But how will they believe us?" Gwendolyn frowned, her skepticism evident. "In their minds, why would such a formidable powerhouse take in a bunch of street kids?"

"That's easy," Jarvis replied calmly. "Just have one of your people disguise themselves as one of them and spread the word about Bridgemoor City. They'll confirm what everyone is hearing, plus, it's an excellent opportunity to promote your restaurant! Even if these beggars can't afford fine dining now, they can still share our name."

Nods of agreement rippled through Felix and his companions as they considered Jarvis's idea.

"Exactly!" Felix added enthusiastically. "Even if someone powerful decides to investigate, we won't have anything to fear because news about Morningstar Restaurant being backed by a Tier 9 Forbidden Realm expert has already circulated in Bridgemoor City."

"And if there are lingering doubts," Zephyr chimed in, "the more people talk about it behind the scenes, the more it will become accepted as truth."

Trinity chuckled softly. "Besides, these beggars and orphans have been living on the streets for who knows how long! The chance to join a wealthy family, and cultivate, would be too tempting for many."

"Yeah, that's true!" Everyone shared a light-hearted laugh.

Brixton scratched his head thoughtfully. "So big bro, are there any requirements for recruiting them? Is there a threshold?"

Felix nodded seriously. "Of course! While we want to recruit many individuals, we can't just accept anyone."

He paused before continuing thoughtfully: "Our focus will be on younger ones aged five to eighteen; this is prime age for cultivation. We might also consider taking in some older folks between thirty and fifty, they can help manage our estate."

Nixie perked up with curiosity. "So how many are we starting with?"

"We'll begin with a thousand," Felix said decisively. "They'll be our test subjects, guinea pigs, to see how well our plan works out. If something goes awry, we can adjust accordingly."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Good," Felix said with a confident nod. "Let's move forward with the plans we discussed." He waved his hand dismissively. "If there's nothing else, you all can head out and start getting ready."

The group exchanged glances, stood up, and exited the small conference room.

"Nixie, Gwendolyn, stay behind," Felix called out.

The two women settled back into their seats, curiosity etched on their faces as they looked at him expectantly.

"You both need to start recruiting chefs and staff just like we did back in Brigdemoor City. I trust you're familiar with the process," Felix remarked casually, glancing between them.

Nixie and Gwendolyn nodded; they were well-acquainted with these tasks.

"But here's the kicker: I want you to focus on hiring Spirit Chefs, they're our top priority."

Felix pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Nixie. "This outlines the salaries for any Spirit Chef who joins us."

As Nixie scanned the document, her eyes widened in disbelief. "10 million Gold Coins for a 1-Star Spirit Chef? 30 million for 2-Star? 50 million for 3-Star? And a staggering 70 million for 4-Star?" she muttered in shock.

"Big bro, isn't that a bit excessive?" Gwendolyn chimed in, her beautiful eyes reflecting surprise.

Even though they had plenty of gold now and money was no longer an issue, offering such astronomical salaries seemed outrageous.

Both sisters were momentarily speechless.

Felix shook his head lightly. "Let me ask you something: how do you think established restaurants in the Royal Capital will react if a new competitor suddenly appears?"

"They'll definitely take immediate measures to stop us!" Nixie replied without hesitation.

"And how might they do that?" Felix pressed further.

After a moment's thought, Gwendolyn answered thoughtfully, "They could try to discredit us or ruin our reputation, or even poach our staff."

"Exactly! In this industry, what is the most valuable resource?" Felix asked pointedly.

"The chefs!" Nixie exclaimed before realization hit her, Gwendolyn understood too.

"You get it now?" Felix chuckled as he leaned back in his chair.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Yeah," both women murmured softly in agreement.

"After gathering intel since we arrived here," Felix explained smoothly, "I found that while being a Spirit Chef is prestigious and respected, they aren't exactly rare in the Royal Capital. A 1-Star Spirit Chef typically earns about 5 million Gold Coins per month at other restaurants, 10 million for 2-Stars, and so forth ".

He paused for a moment and continued,"But at Morningstar Restaurant? We're doubling those figures! Just imagine how many Spirit Chefs will flock to us if word gets out about how well we treat our chefs. If other restaurants try to poach them, they'll have to match our salaries, otherwise, why would any chef leave for less money?"
