Awakening:The Infinite Evolution of My Talent as a Low-Level Awakener

Chapter 111: Acquiring the Water of the Netherworld

Sterl's expression was tinged with excitement. He had originally thought that hoping for growth in his Law Powers and Divine Power was...

Well, plain wishful thinking.

To be honest, Reaching such heights would require him to attain at least a legendary level, perhaps even become a demigod.

But while in the Netherworld, there was an exception!

He could absorb the Divine Power and Law Power embedded in the players!

In the [Transcendence] main world, Divine Power injected into players by Gloria would be reclaimed by her upon their death.

Sterl wouldn't be able to touch it.

However, in this otherworldly realm, under the rejection and hostility of the world's will, even the goddess was suppressed.

Her Divine Power and Law Power, once they left the players' bodies, would be quickly eroded by the world's will until they dissipated.

Sterl had arrived just in time. The Law Power and Divine Power had already been stripped of all characteristics belonging to the goddess Gloria, leaving only the purest form of power, which was then attracted to Sterl's own Moon Law and Divine Power.

And so, Sterl experienced his earlier boost.

Sterl was now quite excited. While others farm monsters, he could farm players. The yield was even greater.

But he quickly calmed down. "It's too risky to kill players myself."

He knew that the Lunar Restriction and Mark had the capability to record dropped items. If he actively attacked and killed players to seize their Divine and Law Power, he could be monitored by the goddess or her demigods.

Too risky!

The best method was to wait for the players to be killed by the bosses sent by the world's will, allowing the goddess's influence to be eroded from their Divine and Law Power before he swooped in to collect.

"So, I just need to watch other players die." Sterl's thoughts quickly cleared up.

He realized this wouldn't be difficult. Under the relentless targeting by the world's will, any player who had previously killed NPCs wouldn't escape.

Sterl reckoned he'd have a great time picking up Divine Power!

The only issue was encountering a large number of players, which wasn't difficult at all.

Sterl knew that everyone was heading toward the three light pillars indicating the Water of the Netherworld!

With this in mind, Sterl didn't bother examining the changes in his body from the newly acquired Law and Divine Power. He immediately activated the dual-core acceleration mode of Divine Flame Drive and Blood Rush.

He surged forward!

With the Shadow Clone at his disposal, he could now use Divine Flame Drive without restraint. Later, his clone could disguise itself as David, ensuring people wouldn't link him to "Constantine."

A multicolored flame streaked across the sky like a meteor.

Under this terrifying acceleration, although Sterl was somewhat targeted by the world's will, causing numerous monsters to emerge from every nook and cranny to attack him,

the monsters couldn't even react before Sterl was long gone.

In his frenetic rush, the Netherworld—a relatively small realm—seemed to shrink. What appeared to be vast distances were covered in no time.

About half a day later, Sterl stopped in front of one of the light pillars.

Under the immense radiance, there stood a towering mountain, with the light emanating from within its depths.

"Argh!"

"Roar!"

...

The light was so intense that it illuminated the entire mountain.

Sterl slowed down and landed on the mountainside. He immediately noticed a group of elite monsters surrounding him.

However, he didn't even get a good look at these creatures before he utilized the residual flames from his Divine Flame Drive acceleration. He unleashed the single burst effect of this skill, enhanced by two points of legendary status!

Boom!!

Multicolored flames exploded on the mountainside, transforming into a fiery barrage.

In an instant, countless monsters were reduced to ashes in the fiery onslaught!

Elite monsters? They were meaningless! Unless faced with a boss-level entity, nothing could withstand Sterl's output.

Sterl's ears were filled with a cascade of notifications—

[Monster killed...]

[Killed...]

His experience points soared. Apart from his time in the Village of Death, he rarely had such frenzied opportunities to farm monsters. Yet, driven by the world's will, nearly all the wild creatures were coming to him willingly, practically offering themselves up.

When Sterl finished his monster-clearing spree, he awkwardly realized that, perhaps due to his incredible speed, there were no players around the light pillar.

"Wait a minute!"

Sterl immediately adopted a cautious expression and quickly used his Shadow Clone to create David.

The character he played as, Constantine, stood arrogantly on the peak, while "David" looked on in terror and fled in panic.

At that moment, Sterl sensed a powerful mental presence scanning both his clone and his real body.

This was at least the soul power of a legendary being!

While Sterl was still somewhat naïve, he did possess Divine Power and Law Power within him. In his vague understanding, he could gauge the strength of the soul power that had just appeared.

However, the real question was—

"How did the Dark Moon Alliance manage this? Weren't second-class players supposed to be the limit in this world?" Sterl was bewildered.

A sudden flash of insight had made him realize that the Dark Moon Alliance would likely have people monitoring the light pillars with the Water of the Netherworld. So, after decimating the monsters, Sterl quickly used his Shadow Clone, which had just come off cooldown, to create a disguise.

"Constantine" could be high-profile, as he was already marked by the Dark Moon Alliance due to his attack on the Atlantic Empire.

"David" on the other hand, was Sterl's main identity and needed to stay under the radar.

Even though Sterl evaded this round of detection, he was still puzzled—

How did the Dark Moon Alliance bypass the world's origin restrictions to deploy legendaries? If they could really send people into The Netherworld without conditions, why would they still need players?

In fact, if Sterl knew about Felicia's situation, he would understand that the Netherworld suppressed only physical power, not soul levels.

The Dark Moon Alliance had long been stockpiling legendary souls for this mission.

These souls, like Felicia's, were usually weak but could ignite themselves to temporarily become legendary powerhouses!

Once they entered the Netherworld, their primary goal was to ensure the goddess's mission was executed smoothly, and their secondary goal was to monitor the players' movements.

Sterl was unaware of this. After sensing the probing force had vanished, he first collected the drops from the elite monsters. However, his luck was a bit off this time. He obtained a total of 20 purple coins and a bunch of second-class and higher gear, none of which he could use.

With a calm expression, he stored the gear in his backpack and began to explore the interior of the mountain.

The earlier Divine Flame explosion had created a large hole on the mountainside, through which Sterl easily entered the mountain.

Indeed, this giant mountain was hollow.

Sterl jumped downward and observed glowing moss and emerald-green crystals providing faint illumination.

As he drew closer to the source of the light pillar, he noticed increasingly aggressive monsters emerging. They were mostly semi-humanoid creatures covered in mud, looking quite disgusting.

Sterl eliminated them effortlessly, using Ignition Flame and the starlight splash effect to clear everything in his path.

By the time he landed at the bottom, the monsters' relentless attacks had filled his experience bar by one level. He also collected some unusable gear and two blue-quality skill books.

Finally, Sterl felt as if he had pierced through a thin membrane, and his vision suddenly opened up.

Beneath the mountain, the visibility was surprisingly good. It was a vast underground world, with the deepest part illuminated by a bizarre pool of dark green and water-blue hues. The pool emitted a strong glow, lighting up the entire area.

Upon closer inspection, Sterl noticed a semi-transparent protective barrier over the pool. A dark purple moon pattern was flowing over the barrier, eroding most of it.

Just as Sterl was about to approach, his expression changed. He quickly activated teleportation and dodged aside.

Boom!!

The spot where he had just stood was suddenly occupied by a giant bear covered in blue crystals, roaring fiercely at the sky.

This was another second class boss!

If Sterl hadn't arrived at the light pillar first, a regular player team would have suffered significant casualties from this ambush!

But since Sterl was the one who arrived first, it was unfortunate for the boss.

Unlike the previous Shadow of Hatred, which had special properties and extreme speed, this giant bear possessed all the typical characteristics of a second class boss: high health and high damage output!

However, against Sterl, high health was meaningless, and high damage output was irrelevant if it couldn't hit.

Boom!!

Boom!!

Boom!!

After three deafening explosions, Sterl knelt on one knee, panting heavily. He hadn't taken any damage, but using Divine Flame Drive three times in a row had overexerted him.

The giant bear boss, which Sterl didn't even bother to inspect with Star Insight, was reduced to a charred corpse.

Sterl ignored the boss's drops and quickly approached the source of the light pillar. With a light touch, the heavily eroded protective barrier shattered.

Finally, Sterl reached out and touched the strange pool!
