Chapter 8: God's Breath of Growth
Chapter 8: God's Breath of Growth
Elliot’s happiness knew no bounds as he had reached the peak of the second level of the magical realm in an instant after being stuck at the lowest part of the first level for years.
As soon as he finished laughing to his heart content, a few more notifications of the artifact that has merged with his body and made him become the champion of the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight popped up in his mind. Reading the grand news made his dissipating happiness blossom more brightly.
<You’ve obtained three units of God’s Breath of Growth for reaching level two of the magical realm>
<Congratulations! You’ve received the First Level Up Bonus. Having leveled up for the first time, you have fulfilled a condition set by the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight to obtain an additional reward>
<You’ve obtained two additional units of God’s Breath of Growth>
Elliot read through the notifications one by one, and after reading the last of the artifact’s notifications, a smile stretched across his face.
“God’s breath of Growth should be something that’ll me become stronger. Am I right, uh, Mr. Artifact?”
Elliot has already taken take the essence of life as experience points, and thus, he concluded that God’s breath of Growth should be something like Attribute Points. Of course, he wasn’t wrong in the slightest!
<The Champion can distribute God’s Breath of Growth into any of his Attributes to instantly improve your physique> The new golden words that suddenly appeared on the black screen validated his conclusion.
Elliot didn’t hesitate even a single moment more and used the five units of God’s Breath of God he earned from leveling up to increase his Strength and Agility.
<The Champion has entered the Physique Strengthening Process>
<The God’s Breath of God is being utilized to Strengthen your Strength and Agility>
He suddenly felt hot, as if thousands of needles were piercing into his body, yet it wasn’t painful in the slightest and felt rather addicting and sensual.
“This process feels so pleasant as if the softest and warmest hands in existence are caressing my body.” Elliot thought, feeling as if thousands of needles of happiness and addiction were seeping into his bones and the fibers of his muscle.
A few moments later, the addictive and sensual feeling encompassing his entire being suddenly vanished, and at the same time, a few sentences with words written in black and gold popped into his mind.
<The physique Strengthening Process has ended>
<Your Strength has increased to 15 points>
<Your Agility has increased to 14 points>
“Damn, this is awesome.”
Elliot felt rejuvenated, refreshed, and stronger than before, like, he has gained the strength and vitality of two horses.
“Hey, artifact, is there any other way to acquire God’s Breath of Growth?”
Elliot wanted to increase the quality of his body and feel that feeling once again, so he asked the artifact about any means possible to earn it.
<The Champion can earn God’s Breath of Growth by completing Trials and other activities issued by me following the will of the Northern Duke of Dark Starlight. Except for that, you can earn three units of God’s Breath of Growth by leveling up every time, and every third level of any realm of the evolutionary stage comes with additional units of God’s Breath of Growth>
Elliot checked the menus presented by the artifact and found out that there weren’t any ongoing trials neither were there anyways to level up today.
After that, he decided to give a name to the mysterious civilization Artifact that has merged with his body. “From now on, I’ll call you Hope. Is that alright?”
For a few moments, no words appeared on the black screen. Just as he was about to give up and focus on something else, a single golden word popped up in his mind.
<Why?>
Was there even a need to ask something like this?
If he hadn’t found that Hope was an artifact and became a champion, then he would have forever been called the weakest magician and ridiculed for life.
“I named you Hope because you’re my hope for a better life.”
A few moments later, he began packing his stuff as the agent from the magician association will soon arrive to take him to the academy. As he was throwing his stuff into a backpack, a voice suddenly sounded in his room.
Ding, Dong.
He looked at the source of the familiar voice, only to see his communication device vibrating at the corner of his bed. He picked the device shaped like a smartphone from his bed and saw that the guardian assigned to him by the magic association after the death of his parents was calling him.
He tapped on the green icon to answer his call. Immediately after, a holographic screen displaying Agent Charles flying across clouds opened in front of him.
“Hello, Charles. Good to see you’re doing fine,” Elliot said in an amiable voice. Of course, he was happy to see him. After all, after the death of his parents, the only person that treated him like a human was Charles.
“Good to see you too, Elli,” Charles replied with a smile on his face.
“You called for?” Elliot said those words while blinking his eyes one time.
“Ah, I will arrive at your place soon. Come downstairs in a few minutes.”
“Alright,” Elliot replied, ending the call.
Charles was a young man of average height, wearing a uniform meant for Agents of the Magician Association. There was a nameplate with his name on it above his chest pockets, and two medals were sticking out of it.
A few minutes later, Elliot went out of his room and down the stairs with a big bag on his back.
In the parking area of the building, Charles was already waiting for him.
“What’s with the hair change?” he asked as he pointed at Elliot’s head full of dark brown hair.
“Just a personal preference.” Elliot lied through his teeth.
“Well, it does looks good on you,” Charles said, finding a dark brown hair Elliot more pleasant to the eyes than a white-haired one.
“Geez, thanks,” Elliot said as he walked up to him.
“What do you think about it?” Charles asked while knocking on the front of his newly purchased aircraft.
It was a small aircraft meant for four people with a narrow front and back and two wide circular seats in the middle. Charles has purchased this aircraft a few days ago. It was the latest version of transportation devices available to both the public and the magicians.
“It seems like a good ride.”
Elliot has never ridden anything like it even once in his entire life, and he wondered if he can experience it now.
“Come on inside.”
“You sure?”
“You’re gonna get late for the entrance examination if you keep on standing there,” Charles replied as he hopped inside the pilot’s seat.
“Well, thanks!” Elliot said as he sat down behind him.
Charles started piloting his aircraft after Elliot sat inside it and buckled up.
The aircraft cut through the air, charging through the seas of cloud, heading towards the magician Academy at a distance, moving at a very high speed, causing waves of wind to brush across their faces.
