Chapter 49: Elliot's Strength!
Chapter 49: Elliot's Strength!
Elliot, Theo, John, and Lisa immediately stood up and turned to look at the sources of the howls and noticed several dozen Iron Fanged Shades running past one tree after another, scampering towards the clearing, The beasts were about twice their size, more than two-meter tall and three-meter wide, having fangs shaped like knives. They were covered in grey furs and running towards them while staring at them with eyes seething with cruelty.
“Damn! The scent of blood must have attracted them here,” Theo said, feeling aggravated at finding himself in such a deadly situation.
For the beasts, the delicious scent of blood coming from the corpses outdid the horrendous smell of the monster repelling reagents.
Thus, they were here to get a taste of flesh and blood.
Omg!
John’s and Lisa’s eyes opened wide in horror as they found themselves getting surrounded by Iron Fanged Shades from all four sides. They were left with nowhere to run. There was no escape from this situation.
“What do we do?” John asked with a panicked expression on his face.
“I don’t wanna die at such a young age,” Lisa said in a shaky voice, almost as if she was ready to break down and start crying.
Theo also was panicking but he didn’t have a severe look on his face.
I guess I have no choice but to use my forbidden superpowers, Theo thought, ready to take off his pair of eyeglasses to use his special superpower.
However, he stopped as Elliot’s carefree voice rang in his ears.
“Guys, stop making a fuss about this situation, and just relax,” Elliot said to them, a carefree expression on his face.
John’s and Lisa’s eyes twitched at his nonchalant attitude.
The Iron-Fanged Shades are just dozens of meters away from them.
And they were closing in on them from all sides at a rapid speed!
The moment they reach them, they will get enrolled in a deadly battle and might even die!
Yet, Elliot had the “no matter what happens, don’t lose your calm” look on his face.
Did he eat the guts of the king of the beast while still in his mother’s womb? Or does he not fear death?
“How can we relax?! There are only four of us, while there are around a hundred of them. Fighting against all of them would lead to our death.” Lisa said out loud, terrified out of her wits.
“What is the need to fight all of them at the same time while risking our lives, when I can defeat all of them without anyone risking anything?” Elliot said in a confident voice as a cheesy smile formed on his face.
“Huh?” John’s lips parted in confusion.
“What do you mean?” Theo asked, wondering what Elliot meant by his words.
“See for yourselves,” Elliot said, lifting his face and exposing an overconfident smile on his face.
His eyes glistened in a profound light as a mystical image popped up in his mind.
Close your wings and embrace me in your motherly warmth. Keep all dangers away from me and protect me from all harms. Gaia’s Celestial Dome!
In the very next split of a second, Elliot’s wildest imagination started to manifest into the real world. Dozens of units of the essence of life burst forth from his body, extending outwards in all four directions for several meters and then shaping into a massive dome.
A golden dome manifested around them, providing them with a hell of a lot of defense. It only had a single narrow entrance. The entrance was so narrow that only a single Iron-Fanged Shade could enter the dome at a time.
The entrance was too narrow for more than one to get inside at a time!
That meant that Elliot needed to kill only one of them at a time, and as long as he kills one the moment it enters, he will face no danger whatsoever.
What Theo, John, and Lisa saw left them awestruck. Their eyes threatened to pop out of their socked, and their gaping mouths threatened to drop to touch the ground. How could he create such a magnificent defense in mere moments? How is he so strong? Is he really a magician in the magical realm?! There is no way he is!
Bam
Bam
Bam
They got pulled out of their shocked state by loud thudding sounds resulting from dozens of Iron Fanged Shades slamming into the dome. Their eyes remained opened wide in shock as they saw that their attack didn’t even leave a single crack on it.
The beasts didn’t have any intention of giving up. So, a few of them tried to enter the dome through the narrow entrance.
“Time to farm free experience points from some nasty looking monsters,” Elliot said with a laugh as he saw that a beast was about to enter the dome through the narrow entrance.
With a thought, golden swords manifested around him.
Whoosh
Whoosh
Whoosh
The swords cut through the air, glistening under the moonlights, charging towards the beast who was about to enter the celestial dome.
In the very next instant, the sword chopped its sturdy body into two.
“One down and several dozens to go!” Elliot said, killing another one the moment it entered the celestial dome.
The same thing happened time and time again!
Numerous Iron-Fanged Shades in the third stage of the magical realm, many in the fifth stage, and a few in the seventh and eighth stage entered the celestial dome one after another to get to them. However, they died with their bodies chopped in two halves before they could even reach them.
The corpses of the beasts fell down to the ground so fast and so rapidly that it almost felt like it was literally raining cats and dogs, although a bit too overgrown version of the previously mentioned species.
Lisa, Theo, and John didn’t do anything as Elliot has told them to not interfere with his battle with the beasts no matter what and just sit down, relax and enjoy the show.
He didn’t want them to do anything as he wanted to defeat all the beasts by himself so that he would earn the right to extract the essence of life out of all of them.
Within an hour, Elliot killed several dozen beasts and scared the rest of them away.
