Chapter 639: The story of varnikar i
He could see through illusion like it was daylight, he could bring out the Fire of Varleon from his body, the thunders and lightning of Barash Dur the God of Storms and Thunder.
He also possesses the wisdom of Orhan, having the ability of certain precognition when battling someone.
Like the Leviathan tribe, he is bestowed with the ability to sense the wind and even ride it, like the incarnation of Haral Barog himself
His wounds easily healed like a great warrior of the Cassini.
While he did not have the ability to speak with beats like Saranites did with their tigers and wolves, he could sense the feeling of the beast.
And he also possesses the ability of the Ragranian, having the ability to swim and dive for a long time, breathing underwater like a fish.
Why was he bestowed with all of this gifts?
That is the question he had all of his life.
But that day, the day he saw Amara, the day Amara pointed and touched his forehead, it was like he was anointed by the Divine and he finally understood his purpose.
He is to be the Sword of the Savior. He is to be the protector of this foreign figure that will come to the Cursed Lands and fight the Great Darkness.
That is his purpose. It is the reason why he was given all of these gifts. It is because of this gifts that he believes that the only person that could defeat him is Asrana.
That is the clear sign of Asrana. A figure that is undefeated by mortal means. It did not matter whether Asrana possess all the abilities of the Thirteen Tribes or not.
Asrana is a figure that is chosen by the Divines.
Fate, Destiny all of these are forces that would help him.
Even if Asrana the weakest man that could not held even a sword, as long as the forces of the world conspire to help him, there is nothing mortals could do against such a person.
It might be unfair but Varnikar understood. Asrana is the accumulation of the fortune of the world.
If it is given to many people, the fortune scattered and scattering means weakening.
Asrana is a savior but also a sacrifice. He is to take upon the burden of the world onto his shoulder and fought for the world
His life will be marked with great tragedy, each tragedy is for him to learn and grow. Asrana unlike some divine figure in other religion is not a divine person that had no flaw
Instead, it is mentioned in many lore that Asrana before he truly ascends, before he truly become the Savior that would fight against the Darkness, he or she is a mortal, not god, not divine, but mortal
And as mortal, Asrana would have the failings of mortals. This is a figure that sins, a figure that makes mistake, a figure that is as flawed as any other mortals
Each tribulation is Asrana life is meant to guide him to this land. This is the lore that has been told in the Temple of the Gods
Varnikar once in his youth went out of the Three Kingdoms and roams the thirteen tribes outside of the Shadowlands.
It was very dangerous because none of the people of the Shadowlands is welcomed in the lands of the Thirteen tribes.
They believe that the people of the Shadowlands, the inhabitants there is cursed by the Divine for the killing of the great Prophet beloved.
As such, the only places that the people of Shadowlands were able to roam around is near the border between the Shadowlands and their tribe.
No one would be as brave as Varnikar who roamed the lands of the thirteen tribes
He rides on the Green plains of the Saranites, drinks in the famous tavern ports of Ragran tribes, went to the secluded villages of the Ereshdu tribes, went hunting with the Cassinian tribes warriors near the Godstree, go fishing with the fisherman of Leviathan tribesman near the Red Shore, fought a battle with the fiery and fierce warriors of the Arakians, got lost in the Illusion Forest of the Eradites territory, being captured by the Negevian tribesman who roamed the hills near the Illusion Forest and he even went to the Ruins of Alendar where he spoke with a wise old man of the Vergonian tribe.
He even saw the walled city of Ragora.
The walled city of Ragora is quite the city. Even after decades he still remember how magnificent it looks from the outside
The thirteen tribes did not deal with the people of that city. It is a city shrouded with mystery.
Even he did not dare come into the walled cities.
It is said that the walled cities of Ragora is sealed by a powerful mind changing magic that the people in there are refugees of the people of the land.
Most of those who enters that city would have no memories and forgotten about the free lands of the Thirteen tribe.
But he saw how powerful those cities look and while he did not dare to come inside the walled cities, he does dare to swims in the oceans near it and there he saw the Iron Whale.
It had no mouth or eyes and it is black in color. People could go inside it and then went outside of it without no injuries.
Varnikar did not swim close to it but he could see that the iron Whale is not an animal but instead a creation of Men
It is made from metal but it seems that it is made from a metal that could floats on water and then submerged into water.
It was an eye opening experience for him.
he spends a few years roaming the lands of the Thirteen Tribe while at the same time honing the abilities that was bestowed on him
and when he was about to go home, he finally went to the Great Temple of the Gods. The journey there was not as hard as he thought.
By that time, he was already an experienced warrior. Still, he took great pains in hiding his identity as the denizen of the Shadowlands.
Never in the history of the Shadowlands, that a warrior of the Three Kingdoms had gone this far and this long in the lands of the thirteen tribe and survive.
It wasn't until he grows up that he believes that the Divine had a hand in helping him remain safe at that time
Because he found out that the Thirteen tribe had many magic and many methods to discern outsiders.
And this method was also used on him in the past but he was not discovered.
It is then he truly understands what happens in his youth is his destined quest.
He was protected and guided even when he could not see it, even when he could not sense it.
But as most young warrior at that age, Varnikar truly thought that the reason he was undetected is because of his ingenuity, his wit and his quick thinking that enables him to roam the lands of the Thirteen tribe freely.
He arrives at the temple and he was shocked to see the greatest temple to the Gods ever built by the people of the Thirteen Tribes.
It is the largest and most beautiful temple for the Gods he had ever seen in his life. At that time Varnikar is still confused.
How should he help the Savior? Will the Savior be born in his era? If he did, how could he protects the Savior?
At that time, he was merely one of the promising hunters of the Kingdoms. He knows that when the Asrana come to the land, he would be the target of the Three Kingdoms
How could he, a lone man stops millions of soldiers of the kingdoms? Not to mention the pretenders that would use his name to unify the Shadowlands?
He is strong. He is powerful. But even he has limits.
He was confused of what he should do
Like any other young men his age, his heart is brimming with ambition.
With his strength he could easily unified the tribes and might even become the King of the Shadowlands.
But the fate that he saw, the fate that is bestowed on him is not a fate of a King, nor a fate of a Conqueror.
But of a protector, or a shelterer, a guide for Asrana so that he could shine. It is not an easy fate for someone like him to accept.
It is the reason for him roaming the world. he went to the Great Temple wanting to seek guidance.
When he entered the temple, he could see the mountain of offering offered by heroes of the tribes of the ancient past
It is untouched and could only be touched by the people of the Temple who would use it for the maintenance of the Temple and for aid to distressed tribes.
There were many old men and old women, people who had lost their hands and feet in war these people who can no longer offer their service to the tribes or wanted to serve the Gods come here, offering their loyalty to the Gods.
He even saw some great Warchief and leaders of tribe who approached old age come to the Temple to offer their service
It is a place deserving of respect and reverence.
