Chapter 1663 Father And Daughter
Chapter 1663 Father And Daughter
Martha's adamant refusal of her father wanting to check Grey's elemental affinities as well as his grades made him a bit curious, but knowing his daughter, he knew not to try to force things. "Alright, I'll give him the basics for all elements, it'll be up to him to figure out the rest since there's no way I will be able to personally teach him the essence of the elements I'm not attuned with." Grey's grandfather explained.
"Teach him the three elements you're good with." Martha commented. "Oh, he has the water and lightning element too?" Grey's grandfather was a bit surprised, although he has heard that Grey has a number of elements, it was still a bit strange seeing it in person. Grey used three elements in this battle, adding the water and lightning elements to it makes it five elements which was astonishing. "It's just five elements, dad." Martha looked at her father as if he was a village bumpkin.
She's not surprised with Grey having five elements since she knew he has all eight elements, so there was nothing to be surprised about. Of course to others, that's simply unheard of. Grey heaved a sigh of relief with his mother stepping in to block his grandfather from finding out about his elements. Luckily, he has been using generally the same elements whenever he's outside, his light and darkness elements were closely hidden so very few people knew about it. His wind element on the other hand has been used on a few occasions, so he didn't mind saying he has six elements. Thinking about this, he spoke up. He scratched the back of his head awkwardly and said, "Actually, I have six elements." He stretched out his right hand and a little cyclone could be seen on his palm. "The wind element too?!" This time, even Grey's grandmother couldn't keep her composure. Having five elements was amazing on its own, but to a certain extent, they've heard of a few people in the history of the Continent that has the ability to have such high elements, six elements however has never been heard off, this was the first time they were hearing that there was someone with more than five elements.
Grey's grandfather looked at his daughter, he couldn't believe she hid such a gem from him. If he had been the one to train Grey from when he was little, he would've undoubtedly been the number genius in the Aurora Continent at the moment. Of course, he's aware of Grey's status in the Aurora Continent since he's been able to grow through the ranks, but it was only during his later years, so he's regarded as a late bloomer because he didn't come out on time. If he were the one looking after Grey, he would've been at the top from the very beginning. "You took him to a backwater place with this much talent?" He couldn't stop himself from asking, a little annoyed at Martha's actions. "Yes, the further away from you the better." Martha gave a cold harrumph when she heard her father's question. "Martha…" Grey's grandmother called out to her daughter softly. Martha, who was about to continue speaking, paused and looked at her mother, then her gaze went to Grey, she dropped her head softly and apologized for being rude to her father. Everyone could tell it didn't come from her heart, and she only did it because Grey was present there. Grey watched his grandfather's reaction to his mother's words and could see a hint of regret and remorse in his eyes, but then came a strict expression that immediately hid away those emotions. "He's your son, you don't have to apologize for taking him wherever you want to, but you limited his growth in this manner. You could've at least let him grow in the Dawson Family, they might not have a long history like us, but they are still a top Family with a few things." He reprimanded his daughter. To him, Martha was still acting in this manner due to the incident that happened years ago, but he didn't like the fact that he used her own issues to hold Grey back this much. He felt if Grey had stayed with him, he would've been a Late stage Sovereign by now. The fact that Grey was able to even grow this much after only rising to fame a few years ago showed just how talented he is. He has caught up to his peers and even surpassed them. Only a few people among his generation can truly stand side by side with him, and those people rarely show up.
"He's doing better than most of those who you've trained, so I see no issues with him staying in that backwater place. Even the friends he brought from that place are all almost just as good as he is, they are far better than the people you tag as geniuses here." Martha didn't think there was a problem with Grey being brought up in the Azure Continent. To a certain extent, she felt it was even better that he grew up there. She couldn't help but imagine the level of torture Grey would've gone through during the first three years he didn't have any affinity to any elements. Being born to two of the best geniuses of the previous generation, he will have a lot of eyes on him, and once people find out he doesn't have any affinity to any element, Grey might not be able to come out of it in good health. At least the cultivation level of that backwater place made it somewhat easier for Grey, even though he was still embarrassed and mocked, it was better compared to what he might have to go through in the Aurora Continent. Martha's father didn't have a comeback for this cause he too has heard about Grey's genius friends. They all rose to fame around the same time, and it's said they all appeared mysteriously as well, from the same backwater place. Amongst Grey's friends, Klaus is the most famous, after all, he was the only male in an all female Faction that never thinks of ever including a guy in their ranks. Klaus entered the Faction and turned it upside down, his ice abilities are said to be second to none in the Faction and not just the Faction Leader, but even the old ancestors in the Faction have all taken a liking to him and have always ensured that they trained him properly.
Other than Klaus, there's also the one with the Elemental Warrior, Reynolds, the Lightning Elementalist. Having an Elemental Warrior is just as difficult as having four or five elements, hence the reason Reynolds is well known. He's not as stubborn as Klaus, and is very diligent with his training. Other than the duo, there was still the only lady in the group. She's not as highly regarded as the other two, but it doesn't mean compared to most of the geniuses she isn't superior, it's just that all three guys were just so astoundingly talented that people somewhat overlook her. Being able to form a bond with a Seelie shows just how amazingly good she is, but then there's the freak of nature, Grey, and then the handsome Klaus, and then Reynolds with his Elemental Warrior. Grey's grandfather didn't know what to say to Martha's words because she is one hundred percent correct. No one knew where Grey and his friends came from, and it was Grey's last name that got him a bit more famous during his early days. A lot of people felt that the Dawson Family kept him and only brought him out to show them that they could still produce geniuses. But when everyone investigated, they found out that the Dawson Family didn't seem to have any idea who this Grey Dawson was, so they were able to ascertain that he didn't have any affiliation with them. Only a while ago did Lucas Dawson come out to protect his son did they get to know that he's the son of the famous Lucas and Martha Dawson who disappeared for some years and only returned a while back. Grey looked at them and seeing that the father and daughter duo had forgotten about him, he coughed twice to bring their attention back to him, after all, he was the reason they were here.
"Boy, since this is the first time we're meeting, I'll give you a gift. It's up to you how much this will help you." Grey's grandfather gave him a reassuring smile before standing up. "You want to send him there?" Martha asked as she stood up. "You know me so well." Grey's grandfather chuckled. Grey looked at both parties, and felt a bit strange. They clearly love each other a lot, but it looks like they had a misunderstanding some years back that might've spoilt their relationship. He knew his mother wouldn't tell him, and neither would his grandfather, so his gaze landed on his grandmother. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
