Volume 2 Chapter 36: Making The Oven
"Ngh!" Keith woke up as he looked around. He turned his head to see Mir and Fira sleeping together. Well, it was more like Fira was sleeping on top of Mir.
Wish I had a camera to take a photo of this.
This scene was too adorable not to. Keith turned to Aria, "Good morning, Aria."
"Hoo." Aria nuzzled onto his body. This room is so big. Keith smiled as he looked around. It was bigger than he imagined.
Keith changed his clothes, and Aria flew onto his shoulders. Keith looked at Mir and Fira.
They ate a lot yesterday. Mir and Fira were madmen as they continued to eat like no tomorrow. They were in a food coma.
"One more bite." "Po."
"...Pff." Keith chuckled. He didn't say any more as he left his room, leaving the two to sleep there.
"Good morning, Young Master." When Keith left his room, a butler was waiting for him.
Keith blinked a few times before nodding, "Good morning. You are up too?" He was surprised.
The butler nodded, "The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess get up really early."
"I see." Keith nodded when he heard that. He walked towards the living room to see that they were up.
"Good morning, Grandfather, Grandmother." Camelia was reading a book. Seeing Keith, she placed it down and was surprised,
"Keith, you're up early."
"Mmhmm. I sometimes wake up early." This was happening more so this time. He sometimes helped Gus with baking bread and cookies.
That was why he was awake during this time.
"I see."
Camelia then noticed Aria on his shoulders, "Aria is awake as well." She was surprised someone would name her familiar.
Especially so with a Blizzard Owl,
"Mmhmm. Aria is a really light sleeper." Keith chuckled.
"Ho." Aria nuzzled him.
"..." "..." The two said nothing.
"Grandmother, can I make something outside?" Keith asked. Camelia tilted her head,
"What are you going to make?"
"I'm going to be making an oven."
"Oh! I heard about this from Sophia. You use it to make bread and cookies, right?" Sophia kept talking about the greatness of her son. There were talks about the oven.
"Mmhmm. Can I use bricks and other things to make it?" Keith questioned.
"Sure you can. We'll help you out as well."
"Thank you very much!" Like that, the three of them headed outside.
"Where would you like to put it, Grandmother?"
"Hmm? How about the back of the kitchen? That way, the chef could use it at any time."
"Okay!" Keith nodded. He was going to grab some stones. But Lionel already did that!
He had a bunch of stones in his arms!
"Is this enough?"
"More than enough, Grandfather." Keith nodded.
"How do we place it?" Keith instructed him on how to do it. After a while, the three finished building the bone of it.
"This is the oven?" Camelia stared at it in wonder. Keith nodded, "Mmhmm, with this, we can bake bread!"
"Guess it's my time to help out," Camelia stated. Before Lionel could say anything,
"Dear, you should rest. You helped Keith make the oven. Rest now."
"...Alright." Lionel sighed as he entered the mansion. Camelia wore an apron like Keith.
It was time to work.
"What do we need to do?"
"The first thing is to make the yeast mixture."
"Yeast mixture?" Keith explained, "Mmhmm. It makes the bread fluffy and delicious."
"I see." Keith took out the yeast and mixed it with milk and sugar. Once that was done, Keith started to create the dough,
"Grandmother, knead it like this." Keith showed her how to do it.
"Alright." Camelia started to knead the dough. But when she did that,
Poff!
A pocket of air blasted some flour into Keith's face! Keith blinked a few times.
"Keith, are you alright?!" Camelia was shocked.
But Keith shook his head, "I'm fine, Grandmother. Look! I'm a snowman!" He laughed.
"You do." Camelia chuckled at his joke.
"Let's keep going." It didn't take long before they finished. Keith puffed his chest,
"Now we just need to wait for it to proof up before we can knead it again."
"Alright, let me clean your face." Camelia realized the two were covered in flour. She moved her hand, and a water bubble formed.
"Wash your face here."
"Mmhmm." Keith nodded as he wiped his face. The two walked towards the living room where Lionel was. Afterward, Camelia asked Keith,
"Keith, you're good with a sword, right?"
"Mmhmm. I've been practicing for a while now."
"Then do you want to practice with your grandfather?" Camelia questioned.
"Sure! I don't mind!" Keith pumped his fist. He turned to Lionel,
"Grandfather, it would be an honor to face you."
"Sure." Lionel nodded. The two were now standing behind the kitchen. Both of them brought out a wooden sword.
