Chapter Chapter 41: Final Warning
41 Chapter 41: Final Warning
Lucy, followed by Yuki and Isabelle, arrived at the spot where Agor and Sam had been having an intense conversation.
"Where is he, Grandpa?" Lucy asked with an uneasy expression.
"Principal Agor is your grandfather? I didn't see that coming," Isabelle exclaimed.
"You just missed him," Agor said with a sigh. "By the way, I told him everything. It should make things a lot easier for you all."
"What did he say?" Lucy asked.
"Nothing... He's just upset that everyone hid this from him," Agor replied, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I think what's bothering him the most is the issue with the saintesses. You should talk to him."
"Did he say anything about us?" Isabelle asked.
"No..."
Lucy, Yuki, and Isabelle's expressions turned solemn, and the atmosphere grew heavy with a sense of depression.
Tears began to form in Lucy's eyes. "I don't know what to do, Grandpa. He hates me."
"He doesn't hate you... If anything, I think he cares for you deeply. It's just... the timing is all off. Don't worry too much; everything will be alright," Agor reassured her before directing them to where Sam had gone.
...
Sam was not in a good mood.
Unsure of how to deal with his emotions, he decided to cope by filling his stomach with lots of food.
The cafeteria was not crowded, but it was still busy. Everyone's eyes were on Sam. After his battle with John, Sam had become something of a celebrity at the academy.
There wasn't a single person who didn't know about his achievements.
People murmured among themselves as they saw him, and young women couldn't help but stare at him like predators eyeing their prey. When the dark and holy power reconstructed his physique to harmonize his powers, his charm increased significantly. Unlike his other abilities, a single point increase in charm made a substantial difference. Right now, he was probably the most handsome man in the entire academy. However, Sam hadn't noticed these changes because his mind was occupied with other matters. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
He went to the kitchen and got himself a big plate filled with two double meat patty burgers, a small bowl of egg fried rice, and five pieces of fire chicken legs. He began to munch on them, trying to eat his stress away.
While he was devouring his food, the Hounds, the Reapers, and the Student Council all entered the cafeteria. They were just there to have their breakfast; nothing interesting was expected to happen. They were supposed to eat and then go about their business. But, of course, some idiots couldn't understand this.
As soon as they entered the cafeteria, their attention instantly went to Sam. There were no third-year students present; the academy teaches the Awakeners for the first two years. In the third and fourth years, students are sent out on missions that usually take months. The third and fourth years had yet to return from their missions, so only the first and second-year students were in the academy right now.
The Student Council didn't bother Sam. They simply found a table and started focusing on their own tasks. They were smart and knew that Lucy would torture them if they bothered him. The Hounds and the Reapers, however, were the idiotic ones.
Yami could be seen among the Hounds. He too noticed the bane of his existence eating breakfast as if he hadn't beaten him to a pulp. John was among the Reapers, and his expression instantly turned red with a mix of fury and anxiety. Sam had not only handed him his ass but also crushed his confidence into a thousand pieces.
"Let it go, John. You've been humiliated enough. Ignore him," Nolan said, glaring at Sam.
"Actually, I think we can take him right now," Kaze suggested, grinning.
"What?" John asked.
"It's him versus us. We have the numbers. I say we teach him a lesson for what he did to you."
"I think Kaze is right. He's the talk of the academy now, and if we let him be after he humiliated one of our own, the Reapers will become the laughingstock," another Reaper added.
"I think we should beat the crap out of him right away," another one agreed.
"I don't think it's a good idea," Nolan said.
"It's a great idea... Look over there, I think the Hounds are going to do exactly what we're talking about," Kaze pointed at four of the Hounds who were approaching Sam.
Seeing them, the Reapers glanced at each other and then approached Sam as well.
"Don't do it. I think it's best we leave him be," Yami tried to persuade the Hounds, but they wouldn't listen. Yami had joined the Hounds after he was defeated by Sam.
"Don't be a coward," one of the Hounds replied.
"I won't be a part of this," Yami said, glancing at Sam before he disappeared from the cafeteria
Sam was focused on eating, ignoring the attention he was receiving. He only noticed the eight second-year students approaching when they were already standing near him.
Sam narrowed his eyes, an irritated expression forming on his face. "Look, I'm in a very bad mood... if you're thinking about doing something stupid, I suggest you scram. I don't want to accidentally kill you."
"Big words coming from someone who's about to get their ass kicked," Kaze retorted, drawing his sword, followed by the others.
Famous last words, A major red flag.
"Oh shit," Leon exclaimed. "Should we do something?"
"I don't think Lucy will appreciate it," Lina replied, watching as all eight of them attacked Sam simultaneously.
"You never learn, do you?" Sam snorted, his eyes beginning to glow with a crimson light. Energy radiated from him, creating a domain with a 1.5-meter radius, freezing the eight attackers in their tracks.
"I-I can't move!"
"It's him... he's doing something!"
They were immobilized as if frozen at absolute zero, unable to move even their eyeballs. They could see what was happening, but were powerless to react, held in place by an overwhelming force.
"What's happening?" Lina asked, confused.
"They look like they're frozen in place," Leon observed. "Is it possible he's grown even stronger in the last few days?"
Their attention shifted back to Sam.
"I warned you, I'm in a bad mood, but you had to threaten me, didn't you?" Sam said menacingly, as the attackers struggled, raising their energy to the maximum, their bodies shaking.
Sam narrowed his eyes, noting their struggle.
His 'Force' wasn't strong enough to hold them completely, but it significantly slowed them down. He pointed his palm at them, and something black and white appeared, accompanied by a sound like breaking glass, gathering before his palm.
A bizarre energy condensed into a ball of black and white substance. With a slight movement of his hand, the energy exploded in their faces.
BOOM!
An explosion shook the place like an earthquake, obliterating everything in its path and leaving behind a blinding grey light.
"This is madness..." Lina muttered, shaking.
When the smoke cleared, a huge crater was revealed, and the cafeteria was destroyed into a million pieces. Sam looked at the eight men lying unconscious on the ground, their bodies covered in burns. They had never been in a worse situation.
Their clothes were burned to nothing, they were completely hairless, and more than half of their bodies had suffered extreme burns, but they were alive.
Sam turned to one of the onlookers. "Tell them when they wake up" "I held back at the last minute so they wouldn't turn to ashes. Consider this my last warning. If they provoke me again, I will not hold back," Sam said, and walked away from the scene.
..
Lucy, Isabelle, and Yuki were calmly walking towards the cafeteria when they heard a bizarre explosion.
In its place was a massive crater with eight men lying unconscious within it.
15:45
"What the hell happened here?" Lucy asked as she noticed Lina and Leon approaching.
"It came from the cafeteria," Isabelle said.
"Let's go check it out," Yuki urged. Within minutes, they arrived at the cafeteria, only to find it completely destroyed.
In its place was a massive crater with eight men lying unconscious within it.
"What the hell happened here?" Lucy asked as she noticed Lina and Leon approaching.
"What happened here? Who did this?" Lucy repeated, her expression serious.
"It was that first-year student you're obsessed with," Lina replied.
"Sam did this? Why?" Isabelle asked, bewildered.
"He was just minding his own business when the Hounds and Reapers messed with him, and he retaliated," Lina explained.
"More like he obliterated them," Leon added, rolling his eyes.
"Those are second-year students?" Yuki asked, pointing at the eight men lying in the crater, who were being carried away by other members of the Hounds and Reapers.
"Where did Sam go?" Lucy asked, ignoring the commotion.
"The student residence," Lina said, then noticed something unusual. "Why are you with these two?"
"Oh, that? Yuki and Isabelle are my sisters," Lucy said as she sprinted towards their home.
"When did we become sisters?" Isabelle asked, confused. Then, as she recounted the dynamics of their relationship, Yuki also realized it.
"I guess we are sisters now, aren't we?" Lucy said with a smile.
